I don't think anyone is ignoring the Respect idea. That's what the past few pages have been about and why we're talking about leaving.

Well my perception is that all this is having the opposite effect: MORE PEOPLE have shown up in the FF14rpchat on FFOChat since the disrespect started. What the hell, people?

This chatroom was basically EMPTY with only one to three idlers for the last few days, and suddenly we start getting a few more people every day. Evidently, the "Don't Feed The Trolls" sign got painted over with "Hey, Come On In, We'll Eat YOU Up!"

NKato, before you speak of respect, read your own posts and ask yourself if you're being respectful. Lately, the answer should be "no", and please don't take this as a personal attack. I'm just trying to help. I for one don't speak English as well as I speak my first language and sometimes I end up being mean without meaning to.

There a way to contact the Admins about this guy? I mean' date=' he is ruining it for everyone and I'd rather not move either.[/quote']

The Admin certainly should be contacted about this mess.

Pikko from Zam just emailed me. She wants to know if we'd be interested in setting up a channel through Zam. All we'd have to do is register the channel and then use it as we please. Yay? Nay?

I vote "Yay".

I understand what you are saying, Asyria. I'm not a good diplomat as I've said before. :P

I've taken the liberty of registering the #ff14rpchat channel on irc.allakhazam.com, and will be giving Op privileges to anyone who wishes to help moderate the channel. I don't want to take too active a role in keeping the peace. :)

Have you guys successfully transferred to Zam yet? I'm not sure what's going on. I tried going to the link supplied by both Pikko and Nkato but it doesn't take me to the IRC (though I don't have anything related to IRC installed so maybe that's why). Just wanted to see what's going on since I think a lot of you are lingering in IRC limbo right now.

The channel has been open for some time. Try going to irc.allakhazam.com for the server...

The channel is #ff14rpchat. Believe me, it's there, and I'm there, just that nobody's getting IN there for some reason or other. How are you guys trying to reach the server?

When I do use it (which admittedly isn't often) I'm still using the ffochat IRC. I realize some people have grievances with it, but I don't see the point of continually hopping around when we're probably not even going to be using it much more after another month or so. I don't care if I get kicked from #vanadiel since I want no part of that channel anyway. /shrug

Hi all, just wanted to update you with a status from my end. We're revisiting the issue of the auto-login to #vanadiel, but it seems these (and other) channel bans weren't meant to be real bans, but to assist those who didn't want to be in that channel at all. It is not the proper way to handle the situation, and while Eorzeapedia does not control the ffochat, we certainly don't want our mods/admins handling the situation in that way. Wish I had more concrete news, but all I can say is that Eorzeapedia has some RP people on staff, and is looking to support the RP community, irrespective of the platform. If you are still banned from that channel and it is a problem for you, send me an email and I will investigate. Sorry for the inconvenience.

I noticed it has been a while since the last post in this thread. Is the community still using an IRC channel or has that fallen by the wayside? If so, is there a definitive answer on which channel is the most active?

Thanks.

It's FF14rpchat, and it's on irc.allakhazam.com

At least, that's what I last remember. It's empty at the moment. Nobody seems to be using IRC.

EDIT: The chat's somewhat alive now that beta has ended. Go to http://chat.mibbit.com and click on Server next to the dropdown menu, input irc.allakhazam.com, and put #ff14rpchat into the channel box, and type your name into the nick box. Then click Go. You will then arrive at the chat channel.

I'll be honest, I skipped through everything but the OP and the last couple posts.

I'd recommend vanachat for IRC server, and two channels--

#rpc -- an OOC channel

#rpcic -- general IC channel. Due to the nature of IRC you can make any number of temporary IRC channels for roleplaying purposes, so we don't need more than just the one that's designated. If even that.

irc2.allakhazam.com

#ff14rpchat

As I was discussing with a few people last night, I think it would be in our best interests to continue to use that room - we've got a good relationship with Zam going and activity in the RP IRC chat can only help continue that by demonstrating utilization of what's out there.

Dude. Not cool. Read through the thread. I don't care if it's TL;DR -- Read it!

No. I came to make a suggestion since it didn't appear addressed in the initial post.

Also, I don't care if something is cool or not, and 'tl;dr' isn't relevant in this case.

Take it or leave it, that's up to you.

But don't act offended because I prefaced my suggestion with a disclaimer that I didn't read 7 pages of thread.

Anyways. Suggestion made. Shot down, with reason. Done is done.
