Chances are the lobby server is getting hammered. You just need to be patient.

I got in right at 4AM CST, but there was no servers or anything up. Logged out, back in, had the 'unable to click the start' thing.. Got past that at about 418, and now there're no NA servers up. All the Japan ones are though.

According to the official Twitter, they're restricting logins for the first couple hours. Just be patient.

Ok I got in finally. Just kept relogging over and over, think I got into NA/EU on around try 50?

And when I finally make the character I get a new lobby error and get booted again *sigh*.

 

Yeah I had 2 service accounts, no idea what it means but I selected number 1.

So I made my character, it asked if I wanted to start a new game with it, I pressed yes, then got an error.

 

It is not available in my selection but when I try to make a new character with the name I get told the name is now taken, so I think it still got registered...

Same here.  And when I retry, there's no indication that the character was ever created (or named).  I hope I can use the name I (finally) came up with and that the system doesn't consider it "used" already.

And right after this post posted, I got it! Yay! And promptly crashed, error 10102. /sigh It's going to be that kind of morning, I guess .

Had that happen once. Once you get in, everything should be good - As long as the server lists load for you. If they don't load, it'll look like you didn't make the character. Once they do, he'll show up.

Just a refresher on what I said, if you get it to register your name as "taken" it eventually (like 10-15 minutes later) stops doing that, so you're not completely screwed.

Bah, curse my indecision. Finally got in, veered from my benchmark design and decided in the first cutscene that I really didn't like the subtle highlights once actually in game. Now I'm trying to recreate him and back to the same log in/log out attempts.

You have to just keep trying. Took me a few times. Also if the NA servers does not pop up for you, you have to relog and try again. It's kind of a pain and would suggest just logging in tomorrow. They are going to free up this strict server thing in an hour or two anyway (according to their blog post)

 

Edit: Also if the start button doesn't come up for you just relog.

Was playing fine for a while, but I just got kicked. Now I'm getting a "World data could not be obtained. Please try logging in again later," error. Well, guess this would be a good time to make lunch.
