Kage Posted March 21, 2014 Share #2 Posted March 21, 2014 Things I thought were interesting/great to confirm: LoTA: Gil reward BoC T5 must be completed in order to get the quest "Another Turn in the Coil" which is a pre-req for T6-9 Players may now enter the Binding Coil of Bahamut via the Duty Finder with a full party. * With a later update, the Echo buff will be applied to all party members upon incapacitation. Moreover, a full party will no longer be required to register via the Duty Finder. The weekly limitation on lotting items has been abolished. Amdapor Keep Got even further nerfed at Demon Wall - No more BEES Echo is being added to other things, not just Coil: Players will now receive the power of the Echo in the event all party members are incapacitated during certain trials. Hard Modes, Extremes, Chimera and Hydra T5 min avg ilvl to get into it once people can queue by themselves by DF: i82 New Grand Company ranked items - things were shifted Most of the mats if not all that were bought using Philo are now through GC >Sultana and Flame General portrait Weekly reset timer has been moved for certain events to 1am PDT Tuesdays Why do this: Limit break effects will now always display regardless of battle effect settings in the Character Configuration menu. D: Meteor anyone?! Retainers can be set to any of the following classes, with the assigned class determining the items they can procure: Disciples of War or Magic: Gladiator / Pugilist / Marauder / Lancer / Archer / Conjurer / Thaumaturge / Arcanist Disciples of the Land: Miner / Botanist / Fisher * Classes your character have not unlocked cannot be assigned to retainers. A retainer's class can be changed at any time. However, you must reset their current class and level before assigning a new one. - Retainer Gear Retainers can be equipped with gear befitting their assigned class and level, which will in turn affect items procured on their venture. Items will be procured in increased quantities by increasing either average item level for Disciples of War and Magic, or gathering rating for Disciples of the Land. Moreover, for retainers set as Disciples of the Land, increasing perception will result in a higher likelihood of obtaining high-quality items. Retainer gear can be changed via the retainer's character menu. * Retainer gear cannot be changed when a venture is in progress. Gear equipped by a retainer will be bound upon completion of a retainer venture. However, bound items can still be exchanged and used by both players and their retainers. * Gear durability will not be affected by retainer ventures. * Spiritbond rating will not be affected by retainer ventures. - Types of Retainer Ventures Retainers may undertake one of several types of ventures. Depending on the type of venture, retainers will be tasked with obtaining a specified item, or left to freely explore the world to obtain items as they see fit. The following ventures will task your retainer with procuring a specified item: Disciples of War and Magic - Hunting Miner - Mining Botanist - Botany Fisher - Fishing * Disciples of War and Magic will procure the same items from ventures, regardless of class. The following exploration ventures will allow your retainer to freely explore the world, procuring items as they see fit: Although these ventures require more time to complete, they yield far greater experience, and also allow retainers to procure more obscure items such as Allagan bronze and silver pieces. Disciples of War and Magic - Field Exploration Miner - Highland Exploration Botanist - Woodland Exploration Fisher - Waterside Exploration * Although retainers will procure items randomly, higher-level retainers may procure items, minions, and crafting materials unique to exploration ventures. Quick Exploration Upon reaching level 10, retainers can undertake quick exploration ventures. Retainers assigned to quick exploration will always come back with a single item, which will remain unknown until the venture is completed. The amount of experience earned will vary depending on the item found. * There are no items unique to quick exploration ventures. - Assigning a Venture Players can assign a venture to their retainers by selecting Assign Venture from the retainer interface. Assigning a venture requires payment with a unique currency named ventures, which can be acquired through the exchange of company seals, fulfilling leve objectives, or completing beast tribe quests. * Fees will not be refunded in the event a venture is canceled. * Players can still summon their retainers and place items for sale on the market while a venture is in progress. * The status of ventures can be confirmed under Timers in the Duty menu. Selecting Ventures from the Timers interface will display a separate window containing the status of individual retainers. - Completing Ventures All ventures are completed within a fixed period of time, which is affected by the retainer's level. When completed, your retainer's venture report will be updated in the retainer interface, allowing you to collect the spoils of their venture. Retainers will receive experience points upon completion of ventures, increasing their level to a maximum of 50. The number of available ventures will increase as your retainer advances in level. [*] * The status of retainers dispatched to procure items is saved locally to your computer, PlayStation®3, or PlayStation®4, which may result in the display of incorrect information when changing systems. Summoning a retainer once via a summoning bell will update the status of their ventures on that system. [*] What if I did it like this 1 Link to comment

Kage Posted March 21, 2014 Share #13 Posted March 21, 2014 They also did not list any items from the new GC ranks, or what the new GC ranks are called. This is my bad. I phrased it horribly. There's no actual new GC ranks but that there are new ranked items. Things were shifted and Formerly-philo mats have been added. Link to comment

Still it is expected that they left some things out. Link to comment
Kage Posted March 21, 2014 Share #15 Posted March 21, 2014 Well yes they did say it was preliminary after all. Q39: How hard will the Gilgamesh battle be? A39: We designed this with the idea that we’d like everyone to have a good time, so the difficulty won’t be that hard. I believe you’ll be able to beat it with eight players trying the fight for the first time. This makes me super excited ; I want to enjoy that wonderful Clash on the Bridge! Link to comment
Clover Posted March 21, 2014 Share #16 Posted March 21, 2014 I apologize for my ignorance, but I'm a bit confused about retainers. It says a retainer can't have a higher level than you, and that they can't be any job you haven't unlocked yourself. Does this mean that, for example, my White Mage can't have a high level lancer retainer because she's not a high level lancer herself? I wanted to recreate my partner's lancer miqo'te, but now I fear I won't be able to ;w; Link to comment

Kage Posted March 21, 2014 Share #18 Posted March 21, 2014 I -think- so. Some of the comments I read on reddit imply that even if you have a 50 PLD and a 20 BLM your retainer can't be higher than 20 (I assume BLM/THM is the retainer's class/job??) I take it to mean that you sort of train your retainer in that aspect. edit: a friend of mine is insisting that T2 Enrage method is getting borked but based on Yoshi-P's answers at the time I don't see it happening for 2.2, if at all. Kage Posted March 21, 2014 Share #21 Posted March 21, 2014 Totally why Q35: Will the music for the Gilgamesh battle in the Hildibrand line of quests be “Clash on the Big Bridge”? A35: Yes, it will! Brought the biggest grin to my fact. let alone the fact we heard it in the trailer. Link to comment

Kage Posted March 24, 2014 Share #24 Posted March 24, 2014 edit: a friend of mine is insisting that T2 Enrage method is getting borked but based on Yoshi-P's answers at the time I don't see it happening for 2.2, if at all. They "mistakenly" nerfed the enrage method once already, then undid it. Even then it was only slightly harder to perform than before. I naively still trust their explanation that it was a fault of their trying to fix a bug to their random AI/gambit system that directly conflicted with the enrage method. He insisted that it just the mistake of putting in something from 2.2 into 2.16 (Twintania) but then later said, "well they undid it saying it wasn't intended but they never said that they wouldn't change it." I don't see the argument for it though. SE has already shown that they want to make this older content so it's not a wall in players' progress. Allowing the enrage method keeps with that. In regards to whether or not it was "only slightly" harder, no one posted at the time what ilvl their healers were as well as their dps. At least, none of the posts I read included them. But yes. allgivenover Posted March 24, 2014 Author Share #25 Posted March 24, 2014 It wasn't that much harder, but you'd probably need an i85ish WHM to do it. It just required stacking more closely and smart usage of Cure III. Link to comment
