Their dinner finished and their bottle of wine reaching its end, the couple sitting on the Bismark's balcony stands and joins hands before walking away from the table chuckling at some secret happiness.

 

 

As they pass you a card slips from the man's pocket as he tucks away a handkerchief. You both bend to pick it up and he smiles, letting you take it and lifting his hand to deny its return.

 

 

  The Card (Reveal hidden contents)

 

 

 

 

 

"You take it, " he smiles, "find her in the Wench, Mytesyn can point her out. It'll change your life."

 

 

He stands, moving back to his partner and walking off with a nod and small salute, "Good luck."

 

 

Looking over the card you snort slightly. Sophia Grace, Matchmaker...

What is this?

My character, Andralyn Thatcher (more commonly known as Grace), is a people person and very much in the business of making connections. She's eager to find the connections you seek!

 

So.. Love connections?

Well, that's part of it. Tired of hopping from bar to bar trying to find Mister or Missus Right? That damsel in distress bit not finding the right knight for you? 

Perhaps you're just looking for a few business associates and you'd like to keep your business more on the 'up and up' than running around the gutters looking for the right name.

 

Let Grace do the leg work for you!

 

How would my character know about Grace and her services?

Many ways! Word of mouth would likely be the best bet if she hasn't pawed at you in a party herself.

There's also some mention of her being a companion? ...was that rumor? What's with that tattoo on her wrist?

 

So how does this work?

You can find Grace in Limsa Lominsa sitting at the bar in the Drowning Wench most evenings. If she's traveling she likes to keep company with the miners in Ul'dah. Appointments can be made by leaving notices with either of the city's innkeepers. While approaching her is fine, the likeliness of you getting an interview with her then and there is slim. She enjoys her down time as much as the next person and prefers that you make an appointment with her. Leave her with a name and an address to reach you and she'll send you word when she has a time and date available for you.

 

After setting up a meeting there will be a short interview to get to know your character and your character's wants/needs. Given some time she'll find your match and work to set up a meeting between the two parties.

 

What sort of questions should I be prepared to answer?

It's all fairly simple. What do you do in your free time? What do you do professionally? Your age and name, where you reside. What do you consider your best traits, your worst? What are you looking for in your companion? Is there something that if brought to your attention would inhibit you from continuing a relation ship with that person?

 

Just as an example.

 

Can I set up other people for this service?

Oh, I love shenanigans. Yes. Yes, please. Remember though, setting up a character that's a total bitch/jerk/angry ball of fire is veeeeery difficult to find a pairing for. So goes it with characters that tend to be a bit put off or brickwallish.  Those take special matches and those matches take time to find.

 

What are we supposed to do with this meeting?

Whatever you and your RP partner wish to do! Andralyn has suggestions if you need them.

Do I need to worry about Grace running off to my enemies and blabbing about my secret quest for love?

Doubtful. Her services come with many recommendations both for quality of service and degree of legitimacy and professionalism. Grace would never dream of divulging any information on any of her clients... 

 

Uh...huh...And this costs gil?

Just IC money. No real gil needs to be traded. There's a moderate fee for the initial interview, taken care of when the appointment is made and a fee following for services rendered. Prices can be negotiated when the time comes.

 

Hours of operation!

 

I did want this to be a come and go thing but that soon proved to be the death of my personal story and provided little time for me to search out matches that were not on the lists. As such interviews are only ever done by appointment.

 

If you have interest in setting up an appointment, reply to this thread or (preferably) send me a message here (or on skype). I try to make time for appointments on Tuesday and Wednesdays from 4:30-6:30 and Saturday and Sunday from 10am-2pm (All times CST).

However sometimes things need to be shifted or I need to work around someone else's schedule, my times can be flexed with some degree this way and that.

I am not a dating service for players and you can not expect to have the undivided attention and time of the player behind the character that I match your character with. 

 

Players shouldn't be going into this expecting to find a relationship OOCly. I met my husband roleplaying in an MMO, I know it can happen!, but this is -not- what this project is about.

 

I do not guarantee the person playing the character you are RPing with is human let alone the gender/age/etc that you want them to be. It's not my business as it has nothing to do with my RP experience with them. All the information I gather about the characters is completely IC. I know nothing (and don't need to know anything) about the players or their love lives/preferences.

 

The player behind the character I match you with is not signing on to play with you 100% of their online time nor are they agreeing to consider you an OOC relationship. 

 

Unless I have expressed permission to set up meeting, etc:

• No, I will not give you their Skype name (if I even have it).
  
• No, I will not tell you their alts (if I even know them).
  
• No, I won't even give you their RPC name.
  

Failure to agree with this sentimentality will make my interest in working with you wane dramatically.

This is certainly still an ongoing project! I had plans to be on Andy at some point tonight, but it looks like tomorrow may be a bit better for me. Definitely will be around Friday for her poker night event (which I'm totally plugging *hint,hint!* *wink, wink!*).

Why can't she use this? It's illegal to pay a person to help you find a date/love? This particular side of Grace's operation is no different than eharmony, match.com and whatever else is out there. She tries to find compatible people to hook up and go on dates... And maybe live a happy life together should it all work out.

 

Short of any personal opinions about people dating or getting help with dating, I don't see why Melodia couldn't use this service.

 

Now, the whore ring is an understandable difference... Even though the backstory proves that to be legal as well....

It's awesome to see this pick up so. It certainly has been a challenge with most of the introverted characters I have on the list! Haha

 

This weekend was very off for me as it was fall break and I spent it catching up on RL things.
