  • Name: Devereau Beauregard
  • World: Balmung
  • Character main class/job/role (Optional): ICly, more of Free Paladin
  • Cards (recommended): Justice or The Moon
  • Reason for Card choice (recommended): Justice would most likely be the most appropriate choice for Devereau. He has a very strong personal moral compass, and very true to what he sees as good and true to people, even if his methods may be a bit unconventional or against what is enforced through heavy structure. Regardless, he is extremely passionate on matters of truth and morality. As for the Moon, his past is influencing much of his life through fear and uncertainty, making it a bit of a possibility.

  • Name: Doendraga Barabharsyn
  • World: Balmung
  • Character main class/job/role (Optional): Warrior/Maurader
  • Cards (recommended): The Hanged Man
  • Reason for Card choice (recommended): The Hanged Man symbolizes sacrifice, and life through the destruction of the self. Doendraga, while no chivalrous martyr, has surrendered much, and harbors a great many secrets that have altered his life irrevocably from what it once was; the costs he has shouldered have paid for the lives of countless others.

  • World: Balmung

  • Character main class/job/role (Optional): Marauder/Warrior

  • Cards (recommended): The Hanged Man, The Reversed Chariot or Death

  • Reason for Card choice (recommended): All cards symbolize making a decision, letting go of things and being at the crossroads, and change in general. Shakka is at that kind of crossroads in his life, where he needs to decide whether to take a risk and let go of his past experiences in order to move forward, or to stay as he is and focus on his goal only, which is to make his family happy. Pursuing his own happiness would mean losing some of the control and giving it to someone else. To stay put or to change, and risk getting hurt again, he has hard time figuring out which path to take.

Name: Jancis Milburga

World: Balmung

Character main class/job/role (Optional): Conjurer/Healer/Support

Cards (recommended): Temperance

Reason for Card choice (recommended):

Jancis growing up being mostly self taught and with no material wealth cherishes most everything she comes into contact with and has empathy towards it. Every pain, action, emotion, good or bad comes because of a reason/provocation/purpose. The overall intention is her main concern.

Living most of her life in the wild outside of villages and society has also taught her how unfair life can be, and that there is a balance to give and take, what animals do and react to, and what is actually needed for survival versus living. She bides her time and she gets by with very little. Most situations, while feeling and understanding of it, do not evoke her emotions easily and she stands by observing and letting people act out.

Upright: Balance, moderation, patience, purpose, meaning

Reversed: Imbalance, excess, lack of long-term vision

  • Name:  Frejyalen Ruyalen (Queen Frejyalen in-game)
  • World: Balmung
  • Character main class/job/role (Optional):  Black mage
  • Cards (recommended):  Temperance, The Magician, or Justice
  • Reason for Card choice (recommended):
Temperance is "Balance, moderation, patience, purpose, meaning" - Queen is a very balanced character, who prides herself on her ability to be calm and patient with people of all kinds.
The Magician is "Power, skill, concentration, action, resourcefulness" - Queen is the last Witch Queen of her people, and has continued her education in thaumaturgy.
Justice is "Justice, fairness, truth, cause and effect, law" - one of Queen's highest goals is to help bring an understanding and hopefully peace and justice to the Beast Tribes of Eorzea, whom she relates to as an outsider herself.

  • Name: Jariana "Jari" Rinjahl
  • World: Balmung
  • Character main class/job/role: Miqote-at-Arms (Paladin)
  • Cards: The Star, Temperance, The Hermit
  • Reason for Card choice:
    1. The Star: For the upright, Jari is sworn to the Twelve, bound by oath to their defense and to that of their people. She is surprisingly very much a peace with her faith (or at least the little niche she's carved out for herself there.) That peace gives her a sense of fulfillment and courage to move forward and rather selflessly serve where she can. For the case of the reverse, despite her belief in the Twelve, she does not believe her acts will truly have a lasting effect, and in the end she will die in her service. She is very much a pessimist when it comes to bringing about any lasting good, as it seems when one wrong is remedied hundreds more crop up to take its place.
    2. Temperance: The reverse of this is easier to start with. Jari loves to drink, can be quite divisive in her attitude at times, and very much enjoys the... ahem... "company" of others (paid and otherwise.) However, in the upright of this card, she strictly limits her drinking to never impair her judgement, is very selfless in her actions, and always treats and looks at her partners as actual beings, not something to be used and cast off. In the end she merges the hedonistic and temperate parts of herself.
    3. The Hermit: In the upright Jari is an introspective individual, her past having forced her to come to terms with her faith, something she still considers and studies regularly. In the reverse, while she's not a particularly private individual, she does not let others get particularly close. She refuses to have any relationships deeper than just friendship and almost forcibly bars anyone attempting to push any further than that.

  • Name: Jaques
  • World: Balmung
  • Character main class/job/role: Protector. Sanctuary owner. (axe and fist user)
  • Cards: Justice, Judgement(reversed)
  • Reason for Card choice:
    1. Justice: Jaques stands for honesty, taking responsibility for your actions, being held accountable for your actions, and discovering the truth.
    2. Judgement(reversed): He is living an entirely new life that he has yet to fully embrace and come to terms with over a judgement that was passed on him not only by his peers but also upon himself. He carries on a great guilt that continues to hamper his current relationships.

Eh, why not? Worth a swing. :3

•Name: Steel Wolf

•World: Balmung

•Character main class/job/role (Optional): Warrior

•Cards (recommended): The Moon (primary choice), Judgement (secondary)

•Reason for Card choice (recommended): The Moon represents confusion of purpose or lingering to a past while moving forward to an unknown future--the very epitome of Steel's current journey. Judgement I selected for its interpretation to a major decision or a judgement that will alter one's path completely.

  • Name: Lolotaru Lalataru
  • World: Balmung
  • Character main class/job/role: Arcanist/Scholar/student/professor/researcher/etc.
  • Cards: The Magician (3), The Hierophant (2), or The Hermit (1)
  • Reason for Card choice: In the case of the Magician, the nimbus of knowledge and the the ability to see beyond plain physical manifestation are reflective of Lolo's pursuit of a universal aetheric theory, none of which is nearly so divorced from his ego as he thinks.  As for the Hierophant, Lolo does seek to teach, and so the apprentices are appropriate.  He has experience with evil and his story typifies the fraught, fractious journey towards goodness and no matter how informed he thinks his decisions are, they could always use further reflection.  And with regard to the Hermit, Lolo has already sacrificed a great deal in his pursuit of knowledge: leaving his friends and family, selling most of his business, and increasingly his safety and sanity.  But for Lolo knowledge is everything, it is the ultimate pursuit for its achievement is its own success and actualization.  And this is ultimately the reality that will leave him lonely, although he doesn't want to see that truth.

  • Name: Jack Walker
  • World: Balmung
  • Character Main class/job/role: Warrior/traveler
  • Card: The Fool
  • Reason for card choice: "The Fool is the spirit in search of experience. Herepresents the mystical cleverness bereft of reason within us, the childlike ability to tune into the inner workings of the world. On his back are all the possessions he might need." = Exactly what Jack is. (Based off of this and Sagittarius star sign. Wiki for info.)

However, she will always use whatever advantage she can find to play to her advantage and prey on the flaws and weaknesses on others. She will use her chaotic nature to trap or control whoever is her target, through means of bonds, her sexuality, or whatever other tool is at her disposal.
