Random Acts of In-Game Kindess?

Recommended Posts

I've been crafting a bit of "basic" stuff-that-could-do-as-rp-gear for newbies both in my fc and outside of it. I find it's a good way to get people started and that, which sometimes is what people need ^^ I also never charge tips (unless people insist extensively) when I craft anything for fellow roleplayers, one of the big reasons why I advanced crafting to the heights that I have was actually so I could craft pretty things for people. I've also done HQ's en masse to help people advance their own crafting via leves. I just find it a nice way to help and I like the crafting in this game ^^

So that said if any of yous see this and you could do with something crafted, track me down. I handle most of the craft request I get via in-game mail, so just send me a friend request. The highest I can do is 4 star weaving.

Lots of people have helped me with a lot of things over time, I definitely support the notion that the community here seems a lot more friendly than in other MMORPG's :) I think we should keep that up.

The only act of kindness I've seen in the almost 5 months of playing this game is Sastra making me a thing that I should not be talking about shhh don't tell anyone.

Other than that I guess my extreme bad luck just gives me...less favourable people. If I do something wrong and I apologise, I get yelled at. I farm the antique pieces (mostly for RP but I could do with another 2 sets for progression) and the group I'm in says "Yeah I'll pass, only here for light" and then need rolls and takes all the stuff I was needing. The level of kindness I see goes on par with dibbling your wad, walking off with the dosh and laughing. But that's me, I'm not a fortunate nor a happy soul.

I do help people when I can though, but I'm really poor gil wise (I've been sitting on 20k for the past 2 weeks) so I can't get anything people want unless I can dungeon run.

I was RPing with a friend up at the hot springs in La Noscea and happened to be near another couple. When they got up, my first thought was I hope that they weren't bothered by our proximity to them. We continued our RP only to have one of the couple walk up and offer us pieces of a cake that they had received via a messenger. We accepted, of course, when he opens up a trade window and gives me a starlight cake without asking anything in return. Afterward, he wished us well with an OOC "Happy Valentione's Day!" It seems small in comparison to some of the acts listed, but it really helped make my day. Having recently returned to game from an enforced break, that simple act made me feel incredibly welcome.

A Roe SCH was also farming some mobs in Mor Dhona for a Zodiac book, and invited me into his party to share the mob credit. While in party we had quite a bit of fun conversation about Zodiac weapons and how bad the grind is (He was working on his second, damn!), and he offered some hints and advice to the process. We even ran one of the dungeons for our book together before I had to go to bed, and managed to queue into a friendly MNK with bricks on his hands. Was a remarkably smooth and friendly run, even if I didn't tank optimally because I was also trying to make conversation. Forgot his name though, alas. Still, that's the fun, spontaneous interactions that make MMOs worth playing.

Had just started again on Balmung and was just trying to sale through without thinking too much on gear for my lancer. Was just sitting around by the quicksand waiting for dungeon to pop and noticed a player staring at me. She then disappeared and returned and gave me a poke. She'd gone out of her way to make me a full set of gear and said she would of quite happily made me a full set of accessories if I had to wait but I declined as I may not of been there by the time she got back. It was just enough that she made me the HQ gear that she did. Never had anyone do that for me before and I felt really guilty I couldn't do anything for her in return. Just said thank you a whole lot.
