  1. Well, Colliseum gear is, as far as I know, only worn by Ul'dah NPCs, and the Miqo'tes from U tribe don't wear heavy looking armour either. To me, it's just about how sophisticated and civilized the armour looks. To each their own. (Also, think of Spartacus and then tell me how well protected he was for battle.)
  2. Brave> Thank you very much! I'm glad you enjoyed the screens ^^ Kismet> K'mih is a tribal Miqo'te who lives in the desert. Sophisticated/civilized armours don't suit her, that's why I chose the Coliseum set. Also because I like it *laughs*.
  3. Today, K'mih convinced her sister K'nahli to take her to Ul'dah to see the decorations. K'MIH: Waaaaa, everything looks so nice! Did you see that, K'nahli? Waaaaa... K'NAHLI: ...... It was a fun night for both K'mih and me. I want to thank everyone who RPed with us today.
  4. Oriel, those are seriously nice screens (*-*) I love the landscape as well, but taking actually decent screenshots of it is not easy (to me). Very good job!
  5. Gaaaaan. I think my timezone plays against me here, so I don't think I'd be able to participate in your idea. It's still an awesome one and I wish you the best with it! I must say that I love LOVE plot-based RP. In fact, the reason I haven't been as active RPing my main character is that there's nothing happening in the world, nothing she could react to, and I'm not really good organizing huge plots myself. I also love open RP, actually; I need a mix of both to be happy.
  6. If I had to pick music that would represent my main character Clover, I guess it'd sound like this. XGs_QZmnLfs
  7. I just had a mistell in the middle of my first FFXIV RP event. Why am I not surprised. Even if it wasn't anything bad, I still want to hide forever ;
  8. I saw it in Tumblr and recognized your character! I was wondering if it truly was your character or one who looked alike. Even if I've never RPed with you, just seeing screens of your character in the forum has made her very recognizable, which is a good thing ^^
  9. As soon as the mysterious Miqo'te's expression changed, K'mih's did as well. Her smile faded, replaced by something akin concern. It was clear that something was wrong even before he spoke. "Y-your parents...?" The idea of being away from her family, lost in such a big world, was unthinkable for a young mind like hers. Just trying to imagine such a situation would break her brain. For a moment, K'mih's open eyes moved to her sister with a naive, pitiful look; almost like a plead. Nothing much was known about the strange Miqo'te's situation, but if his parents were anywhere in the desert, perhaps there was anything they could do to help him? Her thoughts didn't get time to be voiced, however, for something impacted violently against the sand. "Kyaa!" This time, K'mih hid behind the chocobo, merely because it was the closest support she could find. The peek her wide open eyes took afterwards revealed what looked like a male hyur, a very excited one who suddenly and surprisingly called her sister cute. That alone managed to dispel a considerable amount of fear from her, albeit it also contributed to her growing confusion.
  10. K'mihgazu and her daughter K'mih didn't take long to arrive, taking a seat together with other members of the tribe. There was a persistent knot in K'mih's stomach, for she remembered that this meeting had been her idea somehow. Seeing it become a reality was quite intimidating. Sadly, she knew there wasn't much she could contribute with this time; the young Miqo'te would likely remain silent for the whole meeting, listening to what the adults had to say. They were the most capable of making important decisions, after all. Nervous, K'mih casted a few glances around her... "K'nahli should arrive soon, don't worry," her mother told her with a warm smile, having noticed her gesture. Her daughter was nothing short of an open book, especially for her. With slightly pink cheeks, K'mih smiled shily and nodded her head, before taking her gaze to the elders.
  11. I'm always sending messages at the wrong chats, but other than the embarrassment of failing so much, I don't remember having said anything terrible. It's mainly because the things I chat about in-game aren't special, so it doesn't really matter who reads them. Considering I already panic at any random inoffensive mistell I accidentally do, reading the other horror stories posted in this thread is making me nervous ^^; Just imagining myself in any similar situation makes me want to hide under several rocks, haha.
  12. Ha... haiku contest? I'd have preferred taking screenshots ;_; My comfort is that the necklace doesn't really suit any of my characters (too dark for them, perhaps).
  13. Your art is super cute, keep up the good job!
  14. "...!" K'mih twitched slightly when the carbuncle jumped from his owner to the ground. Wide open eyes followed the creature's movements as it bounced a few times around her, until a final big leap placed it right on the young Miqo'te's shoulder. Her most initial reaction was to shut her eyes tight, slightly startled from the carbunble's sudden approach, but it didn't take her more than two seconds to reopen them and take a close look at her new friend. "Waaaaa..." A bright and excited smile was drawn into her features right then, one of her hands traveling near the carbuncle's face to softly poke its nose. That she was captivated by the animal was an understatement. When she turned her gaze back to the three strangers for a moment, her smile remained intact. "Are you three friends? Why did you come to the desert?" She asked in a friendly tone, scratching the carbuncle's chin gently.
  15. Um... Alright, I have seen (and been the focus of) those. I just didn't relate that to elitism but to the deepest form of human stupidity. I guess it's because I tend to see anonymous haters as very frustrated, very insecure, and very jealous beings. In any case, it might be me being naïve, but I want to think we don't have that kind of special snowflakes in this community. Or at least they don't have the means to torn apart anyone here, which is a step...
  16. So it comes down to people needing to feel *~*special*~*? In any case, as I said, I haven't met any RPer who believed themselves to be more awesome than the rest (that I know of). I've only seen people getting along better or worse with other people, which is normal. Hopefully, the extreme case mentioned here isn't very common?
  17. Umm... I don't even understand what it means when "an RPer tries to be the elite". What elite? *Laughs*. Is it about becoming famous among RPers or something? The point of RP is to have personal fun, isn't it? There's no "elite" or "professional RPers"... o.oa (I actually have no idea of what an elitist RPer is because I haven't encountered such a case. I know great writers who simply enjoy playing in communities).
  18. ((OOC: I'm very sorry for being so late! I've spent the past two days focused on a project 24/7, but I should be back to my FFXIV life now (>_<; Again, I'm sorry.)) When the little animal emerged from the depths of the male Miqo'te's crimson shirt, a pair of bi-coloured, naive eyes opened wider, sparkling with a glint of excitement and curiosity. K'mih managed to hold back just for a moment, not knowing how her sister would react, but temptation was too strong in the end. She needed to take a better look at that animal, and she needed it now. "So cute..." As if in a small trance, K'mih left her sister's side to approach the other Miqo'te, eyes glued to the little creature. She didn't remember having seen such an animal before, and from the looks of it, it seemed friendly enough. "Can I touch it...?" Was her question as she took her gaze up to the Miqo'te for a moment. Her hand was already traveling close to the animal as she spoke, eager.
  19. Ah, I see. I understand that you're looking for an specific kind of RP. Still, I think you can gain something positive from this, for now you have an interesting plot that will make your character react. Perhaps he'd feel betrayed and leave the group in order to search for his own place, just like you are looking for a group of RPers willing to share that kind of adventures. Sooner or later, he'll find them, and when he does, he'll have all those awesome stories and experiences behind! I hope you find such a group soon, and I hope that you'll get to love the story you can develop with your character, even now. After all, it's the "bad guys" the ones that define your character as good, so having contact with them is important.
  20. But... what's wrong with a band of heroes going after your character? Isn't that fun as well? If I played a bad character, of course I'd need other characters to try to stop me. Wouldn't it be boring if no one played with me? *Sweatdrops*. I think people just need to enjoy what they play and enjoy the world surrounding them. Everything that happens around you is a possible plot you can use to RP! So just make your character react properly and see how they develop within the context other players give you. Playing good, bad, smart, or stupid characters... there isn't anything wrong with any of that in my opinion. Diversity is nice, characters that oppose ours are fun, and even characters who do stupid things that apparently make no sense can also serve a purpose in our plots, for those things make us react, and action-reaction is what keeps the RP rolling.
  21. "K-K'nahli!" There was no way that the naive Miqo'te wouldn't have been deeply moved by the elezen's pitiful plead. In fact, had it depended on her, she wouldn't have threatened him to start with. He'd just startled her, nothing beyond that. Softly, K'mih placed both hands on one of her older sister's arms, the gesture trying to coax her to lower her bow. "Isn't that too harsh...?" She asked in half a whisper, her tone also a plead. The strange male Miqo'te walked closer to them, revealing his eye catching crimson attire, which K'mih couldn't help but to stare at for a second. He was a stranger in those lands, wasn't he? "Ah... I'm very sorry!" He told the Miqo'te. "Is he your friend? We didn't mean to cause harm!" It was then that a new figure approached them, calling for their attention. She didn't want to, she really didn't, but K'mih hid behind her sister once more.
  22. I think every kind of character is both fun to play and fun to play with (and I must admit that I have a weakness for knightly characters). Joining a guild and seeing how everyone else falls from grace is also fun. It makes your character react, it makes them question things. Basically, it moves them in any direction, which is a positive thing in the RP. I think it's awesome that his IC guildmates are turning out to be very different than how he'd initially thought; doesn't that make your plot more interesting? So I think you should just keep playing your character naturally, make him react to the events surrounding him, and enjoy the ride! (This also means to enjoy the other characters you play with; good or bad, they're awesome as well ^^)
  23. As soon as K'nahli took her younger sister's hand again, a friendly voice could be heard from above a nearby rock, same spot the previous sound had come from. K'mih raised her head, and this time she was able to clearly discern the figure of a Miqo'te. His words alone had been a relief, as for a moment the girl had feared that any sort of enemy had taken them off guard. Granted, she never left home without her axe, but fighting in the dark of the night would have given her a clear disadvantage. "Phew...!" She sighed in relief with another apologetic smile, raising a hand to her chest. In her mind, that he hadn't attacked them right away could only mean that he was one to be trusted. "I'm sorry too, I mistook you for an enemy!" It was right after the last word had slipped past her lips that a new voice startled her again. K'mih's immediate reaction this time? To hide quickly behind her sister. It was a bad habit she needed to correct, for she'd sworn to herself that, someday, she'd be the one protecting K'nahli. It just never happened.
  24. It was a frustrating situation. K'nahli seemed to brush off the matter as if it was unimportant dust. Perhaps her mood was due to her own concern for her tribe? K'mih wasn't the smartest Miqo'te around, she was very aware of it herself, so she couldn't figure out if her older sister was hiding something or if perhaps she genuinely was in a strange mood. "But K'nahli..." The pink haired Miqo'te tried again. "Don't you think it's a g--" Her words were cut short by a loud sound that startled her, making her turn quickly in its direction with scared, wide open eyes. ((ooc: Thank you very much for joining! I'm unsure if we can clearly see your character from our position, so I didn't mention anything yet. I hope it's alright! ^^; ))
  25. Somehow, being released wasn't what K'mih had been expecting. Not if K'nahli was planning to continue walking home, at least. Without much choice, the young girl followed behind, wondering if her sister would speak about the matter before reaching their destination. A curious Miqo'te couldn't be at ease. "N-no! You just... look upset," was her brilliant observation, her tone still careful; she'd been the focus of K'nahli's anger in the past and knew how irritable her beloved sister was. Still, K'mih wanted to make her talk. "Won't you talk about it with me?"
