As a recently returned player, I've found myself wanted to ingratiate myself back into the RP community and always thought about making a FC in order to follow avenues of RP I think would be a hotbed of good storytelling. Hello everyone, first and foremost I would like to preface what I'm about to write with I'm glad to be coming back to the game and hopefully getting together with peeps and making some awesome stories. More to the point, I've recently returned to FF14 after a bit of a hiatus because of life. This has caused me to look at my old characters I had and the stories created while RPing with them. This has led to me deciding to form a RP FC on Mateus and I thought asking for suggestions/interested parties here would be a effective and enlightening decision. I have a basic idea, as well as a name, for the FC I'd like to build but I believe outside opinions and other ideas bring about interesting alternatives to storytelling. Name: Asylum of Masks Synopsis: Wherever you go, poverty, corruption, and suffering abounds. Whether it be refugees after the Calamity, lives lost during skirmishes with the Garleans, or livlihoods destroyed by the political machinations of those in power, Eorzea's position is precarious for many. This realization has made one man, known as Mask, work towards forming a sanctuary of sorts for those in need. He has expressed a desire to help all those he can, but in turn asks for help himself, for such an organization does not come about without ample time, assistance, and materials. The Asylum will not build itself overnight, but Mask believes making his intentions known is the first step towards building something good. This is, as I cannot stress enough, a WIP to be sure. As of now, I'm still on the lookout for signatures for the actual formation, which will then lead to expanding as I am able and scheduling official events, etc. I happily invite anyone interested in being a part of this, or even just giving advice, to either PM here, replying, or finding my char Mide Hotgo on Mateus and hitting me up from there. He also has a Hotgo with a grudge against him. My Hotgo, Chakha Hotgo. She's not very people-persony, but she'll show up anywhere Zanzan's friend does. Honestly, the amount of interest this has generated so far has surprised me. Lots of different, cool avenues of approach when it comes to stories. Awesome sauce! Hotgo lizards are rare. Dotharl lizards are legion. I'm not sure what you're talking about On a more serious note, I'd like to add you in-game as well if you don't mind! Absolutely! Let's try and get something set up soon as well and see how things go!

Sounds good to me! Chachan is mostly in Ul'dah, but he does travel to Limsa to help out with the guilds there... and has friends who live out in Gridania. So it's pretty easy to have him pop up wherever's convenient for you. :thumbsup: Coolio, Mide generally stays close to Limsa and wanders around Gridania occasionally. As of yet, he doesn't spend too much time in Ul'dah unless someone hires him out to do work around that area. We'll have to set some time to meet up and events surrounding the meeting when time permits.

That sound like it could be a cool avenue to follow, as it could lead Mide to open up more about his tribe and what happened. Definitely something worth looking in to! Posted by Gegenji - Today 09:14 AM Chachan is a Doman smith if you want to pursue that angle a little bit - he focuses primarily on armor due to his nature, but he is skilled at weaponcraft and repair as well. Not to mention he's a soft-heart if you feel Mide could use someone like that around. ... He's interacted with quite a few Xaela as well. Including the Dotharl, and actually somehow managed to get one to question their own views on combat despite being not all that bright. It was fun. Absolutely, he really likes smithing and although he was good with his tribe, there is always room to learn and improve. Having a sympathetic ear could also lead to some interesting character development, especially if Mide actually decided to open up to people. Since I don't have a definitive plan but more of let character interactions affect development, having various different influences would be awesome.

Awesome! Considering his temperament, Mide would probably welcome the company of another Xaela, at the very least because there is already some common ground there.

[align=center][/align] Hey everybody, working to get my character, Mide Hotgo, out to the RP community to start establishing SOMETHING with him. Basically looking for any contacts who might be interested with his character type. Some information I've got so far (still working on some other small bits with him) Mide was born to the Hotgo clan of Au Ra nomads and grew up embracing the traditions of his clan. He was well-liked within his clan, proving himself proficient in hunting and gathering early in his adolescence. His true passion was smithing, however, and he created a mobile furnace and smithy that could be moved with the migration of the clan. His skills were greatly appreciated by the clan warriors, and Mide was respected for his earnest desire to protect others with his weapons. In order to ensure none of his creations would fail his clan, Mide would test the weapons himself, often putting himself in great danger in the process. This caused him to become proficient with most martial weapons and developed Mide into a very competent warrior. When Mide came of age, he was surprised by one of the female clan warriors, Ile Hotgo. Impressed by his skills, his dedication to the clan, and being very straight-forward herself, Ile proposed to Mide. Flattered by her attention and prowess, Mide accepted Ile as his mate and strove to give his all to both her and the his clan. They enjoyed many years of life together, and sought to expand their family once their siblings no longer required their attention. Unfortunately, their plans would not be. Without warning, the Hotgo were attacked viciously and massacred. During the chaos, Mide fought with the clan warriors to try and repel the Dotharl, but was wounded during the fighting. Before the final blow was struck, Mide was shielded by Ile, who lost her life defending him. With her dying wish being that he flee and live, Mide broke. Looking around at the battle raging around him, Mide ran, knowing that his clan was doomed. After many hours of running, he fell to the ground, breathless. Without a home to return to, he silently formed within himself a unbending will to survive for the memory of his love and clan, and nurtured a silent, seething rage against the fate he was bound to and the Dotharl. When he stood, Mide had changed. Following the customs of his tribe, he created and applied a black paint to his face, marking both his desire to avenge the ones he lost and the intense shame he felt that he was powerless. RP Style Amount of RP (light, medium, heavy): Looking for medium to heavy RP in the near future Views on RP combat and injuries: 100% cool with it as long as it's agreed upon beforehand or serves the further personal stories and conflicts. It makes your character feel "lived" and can add some cool aspects to your RP. Views on IC romance: As long as it develops naturally and both parties are cool with it, go for it. Having a variety of different relationships can seriously add some cool factors to telling your character's story. Views on non-romantic RP (family ties, etc): If it makes sense or is agreed upon beforehand, why not? Views on lore: Definitely try and stick within lore for things. It makes it easier to work with people collaboratively if there is already a set of "rules" that everyone needs to follow. Hey there everybody, old player and RPer getting back into the game after awhile. Excited to be back and just looking to see how the community is going now and how everyone is doing.
