  1. I will soon be sketching an Au Ra! Woohoo! But I wanted to ask (and this seems like the best forum for it?), does anyone know exactly where those horns attach to? It APPEARS like they're attached to maybe the jaw line, or just under the bottom of where human ears would be, sort of? Wanna make sure I get it right.
  2. Thanks everyone for your answers. Very informative and interesting. I'm glad that I joined this community. Everyone's so friendly, and there's a strong sense of loyalty throughout the site. And you all love what I love (Final Fantasy). :D
  3. And I cannot stop looking at that GIF in your signature! It's so captivating.
  4. Thanks everyone. All informative answers. Wow, this place has been around for ages. I'm glad to be part of it all - and yes, everyone I've encountered thus far has been very friendly and helpful.
  5. This may be considered a stupid question, but I am genuinely curious... How did this forum grow to have thousands of members? How did it start out? Did the admin/creator simply share it with his/her RP friends, and then they shared it and so on and so forth? Does anyone know? Because it has so many members and seems quite successful - just curious to find out how it got off the ground. (also, I hope this is the right forum for this thread. The others didn't seem as accurate. >.> )
  6. There's no way I would do it. My main has been my main for seventeen years, and I've enjoyed writing him every second of every day of every year. I would miss him terribly if he was an NPC, even a significant/important one.
  7. Welcome to the forums, Saphir!
  8. Very cool. Twelve years is a decent chunk of time. :3
  9. Wooow your art is gorrrgeous howhaveInotseenituntilnow. Thank you for sharing. Such wonderful work. <3
  10. Oh, that sounds good. I have played characters for a couple of people in the past but it always ended in such a way that didn't really allow me to keep the character going, so I don't typically do it, anymore. It's not a hard and fast rule, just something that I'm not super eager to do. Likewise I don't ask people to play characters for me anymore, though I might if it was a throwaway bad guy or something (even then, that's just NPCing for the most part). Again, due to yucky experiences. >.>
  11. I received poor treatment on my female characters from other female characters, but it always felt like it was more OOC crap THROUGH their characters than the characters, themselves. Playing male characters, almost all of the attention I get is positive. My male characters are generally widely liked - which is a relief because I do prefer to play them. >.> So far, every interaction I've had with OOC men due to RP has been pleasant. I have a couple of close friends who are males, and who know I play a male character (and one of them actually has a female who is in love with one of my male characters, ha). It's all about maturity in the end. Everyone I'm surrounded by is pretty mature, so the drama of old is thankfully very rare.
  12. Your art is very nice, and quite unique.
  13. Wow, I'm such an MMO noob. I thought Blood Elves had been in WoW from the start! That's interesting. Sounds like your character had a nice storyline and life. Awesome conclusion.
  14. Welcome to the forum~ Other people will help you with your tribe-creating ideas as I have nooo idea where to point you, being relatively new to the site, myself.
  15. That's great. What a wonderful answer to read. And actually, I'm the same with all of that EXCEPT - my guys are always straight. Nothing wrong with bisexual or any of that, it's just how I play them. But yeah - women for me are terribly boring to play. I'm not inspired to create female characters as I am to create male ones, and they don't hold my interest. I love READING a well-written female character, played by a man or woman (doesn't matter to me), but just... no interest to do it, myself.
  16. Welcome to the forum, Alicia. Yeah, so far I've gathered that Balmung is the main RP server, but it's closed to transfers because it's jampacked. Mateus is the second best, and IS still accepting transfers, so that might be an option for you seeking out RP. I've heard that it's got a decent RP community thriving there, too.
  17. Mine is Krice, my silver-haired OC (points to signature image). I've had him for just a couple months shy of seventeen years, and have written/RPed him consistently every year. He was first inspired by Kai Hiwatari of the very first Beyblade series, but over time grew into a character who is nothing like Kai but still has similar qualities that inspired me to create him in the first place; strong, loyal, stoic but deep down has a heart of gold. Some people might consider that cliche, but given how old a character he is, it wasn't QUITE as cliche back then. And I don't care, anyway. So who is your oldest-surviving character (in played years, not actually ALIVE characters versus dead ones)? What inspired you to create him/her?
  18. Hi Scarlet, I'm on Pandaemonium (or will be when I return to the game), so I won't be joining your linkshell, but welcome! I hope you find what you're looking for. You'll certainly enjoy your stay, here. Everyone is friendly.
  19. A MuD is a Multi-User Dungeon, and is basically 'live' RP through writing, just like in FFXIV In-Game RP, but without the actual game/images. It's a bit hard to describe. Basically, what do you all think the possibility would be of SE maybe designing a MuD specifically for FFXIV players? That would help with the fullness of Balmung, maybe? It would run alongside the game itself and your in-game character's actions there and in the MuD would coincide, one affecting the other. It's basically like forum-RPing, except you need to be logged in to send and receive messages, so RP is more fast-paced, etc. What are everyone's thoughts? I've described it very poorly, I'm sorry.
