Call to Arms! Eyrihimal, a band of stalwart souls, has need of adventurous types of all backgrounds to aid in the fight against the diabolical Garlean Empire. Do you desire justice for their crimes against Eorzea and her peoples? Are you seeking companionship in your travels? If so, look no further than our fellowship of adventurers! Eorzea, nay all of Hydaelyn, has suffered too long under their reign. Aid us in bringing them to their knees to pay for the crimes they have committed! But, that is not all that drives the company of adventurers known simply as: Eyrihimal. No, the protection of Eorzea is just our goal. In achieving that goal; we adventure, we fight, we drink! Eyrihimal is roegadyn for 'Wandering Sky.' The sky is vast, and plenty of adventure awaits! Bonds are the greatest power, so join us today! OOC: ((Eyrhimal is a relaxed and friendly group of adults (18+). Our ultimate goal is to build a group of chill, mature, and friendly individuals to play the game with. We will be a light-medium RP FC/LS, that plans on doing end-game content, but on a more laid-back basis. We all have lives, and don't want the game to become a 'job' or 'chore.' We will be accepting RPers, alongside mature and respectful non-RPers. That being said, our guild leader would like FC chat to remain relatively OOC, while the LS chat will remain IC due to the concept of the Linkpearl. If you're looking for a place to have fun OOC or IC, then look no further! Sign up today! Page subject to change.

What is you're favoite Final Fantasy Song?
Flamel Eldgamel replied to Kellen whitewolf's topic in Off-Topic Discussion
4C44ftapDdc These guys rock. Definitely my favorite cover of this song. Listen with headphones to hear the bass! -
I had an idea for an alt that was a roegadyn opera singer. But without being able to actually sing, it's kind of difficult, especially with a type of singing so trained. But enough about me... Poetry wise, I would advise getting a rhyming dictionary (they're honestly very nice to have). It helps when you're in a pinch and feel like you can't find anything that works with a particular line. I write poetry (among other things) constantly, and one thing I can say is: Don't get discouraged. To me, poetry is just art with words. You can be as ridiculous and sporadic as Picasso, or as precise and coherent as Michelangelo. You can use sentences, or sentence fragments. The more you try, the easier it will get. I often catch myself rhyming to words people say to me. There is plenty of inspiration within the game. Some of the views are amazing! Not to mention the tales of epic battle you can portray. No one is going to expect your work to be perfect (I feel like mine never is!). I hope this has helped you in some way. (I realize it was more towards the poetry aspect of being a 'bard,' but like others have said, it is difficult to portray vocal changes and the like through text.) Once again, I hope I helped!

Please please please, tell me L'hyta invited Flamel after their meeting! If not, I'm signing up now! Also, I'm only available for the linkshell. Approve of me oh ivory tower!

@Freelance: I would love to be part of some sort of research group. My FC slot is taken, but I've got plenty of LS slots open. Also, it sounds like a total possibility that L'yhta and Flamel have met before! @Shizu: If you worked on the docks for any period of time, and enjoy reading/scholarly pursuits, then you've probably met Flamel!
-
Spiffy. Also, since L'yhta does hang around the docks a fair amount in Limsa Lominsa (her apartment is fairly near there), it's possible they've seen each other if not formally met. That might be a handy excuse to meet up -- "Hey, haven't I seen you before?" Sounds like a plan. Perhaps he could have had a 'void slip' and when he stirred, L'yhta was inquiring about his funny behavior (standing still and motionless for random amounts of time. Which, could have eventually led to a conversation about said void. I don't know how curious L'yhta is. Would she find it odd if a random lala was just standing motionless and zoned out for awhile? And knowing it had something to do with the void/aether, would that peak her interest? I'm just spitballing here. @Rogier: If you were seeking passage away from Eorzea or too it, or both, then Flamel could have aided in said passage. To anyone else, I also forgot to mention that Flame is an avid reader and pursuer of all things scholarly. (And I don't mean scholarly like the job.)
-
You might know Flamel Eldgamel from: Limsa Lominsa, particularly the docks. That's basically it. He was born and raised in Limsa, and never really traveled, except to the outlying areas of La Noscea. Post calamity I suppose you may know him from the Thaumaturge's guild.
-
@Freelance: Flamel will be traveling to Ul'Dah to join the Thaumaturge's guild come launch. A colleague to speak with about the void/aether/black magic, would be something he would welcome happily. From Flamel's past; anyone who ever needed transportation or light smuggling, or the need to lay low outside of Eorzea, to the southern islands for any reason (from Limsa), would be a welcome addition. Flamel doesn't necessarily enjoy having broken the law at anytime, but if the reasoning was sound he'd accept it. Depending on the reasoning, he would be sympathetic, or trying to forget. Other than that, anyone from Limsa who often frequented the docks, could be a potential friend or acquaintance.

The nostalgia hits hard! Much like a freight Phantom train! Brb gonna Suplex said train... X, Y, Down, Up...

9/10 I love lalafell naming conventions! The name rolls fluidly, particularly the first name. Very good! Flamel Eldgamel I spent a few hours searching for magical words in other languages and I ended up finding eldgammel, which is icelandic for ancient. Flamel fit the naming convention almost too perfectly from there! Be gentle.

Here's Flamel Eldgamel! -
Welcome to the RPC! The Forgotten Realms are incredible! Have you ever read R.A. Salvatore? To answer your questions: Both servers will have dedicated RPers. The best thing to do come game time, is to make a character on both servers, and see which community you like better! Every one here on the RPC is very accepting, and some of them are Legacy, so have no fear about being shunned! I think whichever choice you make will be great. And like I said, there's nothing wrong with testing the waters of both servers! I hope that helped!

This is a short poem written by Flamel. It is based off of the short times when he slips consciously into the Void. When this happens, he remains motionless, staring; completely oblivious to anything around him. Nothing stirs him until he comes back himself. These 'excursions' are one of his main reasons for researching Black Magic. The Void I fall in once more, to the black emptiness. No light shines, or pierces the darkness. I hear the screams. I hear the cries. Of things unknown, and hidden from my eyes. They are there, watching; every move I make. But the fear keeps me still, with every breath I take. I close my eyes, and pray it a dream. But prayers go unanswered in The Void, it would seem. Be gentle...

I've heard that Arcanist itself will only be able to heal Carbuncle, and when you shift to Scholar, it somehow changes your DoTs to HoTs. It honestly makes the best sense, that way summoner still has DoTs from Arcanist, but the only thing that changes will be the Carbuncle summons turning into the mini Primal summons. So if that's true, in the duty finder Arcanist will be DPS, but Scholar will be Heals. Basically what FreelanceWizard said above me.

These are awesome! Thank you so much! I'm totally using both of them now!

Flamel blushed awkwardly as Abai told him to take initiative with his letter. He twiddled his thumbs momentarily as she filled up a mug with mead, setting it down in front of him. Flamel took a drink of the mead, holding the large mug happily in both hands. He immediately felt the delicious blend of honey and other ingredients stir his taste buds. It was incredibly refreshing, and before he realized, his simple drink had turned into a few gulps. He set the mug back down on the bar. "I'm actually Limsan, born and raised," he smiled, "I work for my father. Basically," he paused for a second as he brought a fist up to his mouth and released a quiet burp, "I oversee the Limsan side of his business. You might have seen me walking around the docks before, or maybe not. Like I said before, I tend to be easy to overlook. My father exports various goods from the southern isles. I make sure they get taken care of when they arrive in Limsa. Nothing illegal mind you. Our cargo is mostly vegetables. He was originally from the isles, so after awhile, the family decided to move back." He took another small drink, "He didn't have anything against Eorzea, he just wanted to return home. He actually offered to take me, seeing as I was born here, and hadn't been home before. But," he said simply, taking another drink, "Limsa is my home. 'Til sea swallows all," he quoted, raising his mug before taking the final drink of mead.

This is pure gold! Carbuncle is so adorable. I wish there was more information on ACN/SCH/SMN. Although, if there was more information I may be forced to rewrite some of my character... Perhaps it's best that it remain mostly secret.
-
Flamel laughed, but held up his hands as if to bat the offers aside, "I appreciate the offer. But if I can't even let the person that the poetry is written for read it, then I doubt I'll be able to read it to a crowd." He patted his robe where the envelope was, "That essentially gives away the type of poetry it is as well," he said sheepishly, growing red in the cheeks. "And I've been trying to steer clear of the drink. It's temptation is one I choose to deny. It makes me..." He paused for a moment as he tried to think of the right words to use, waving his hands around as if conjuring them in the air, "Not...intelligent," he decided, before taking another bite of his salad. "I'm a lightweight too," he admitted as Abai pointed once more to the tap. This time, he followed her finger to the harbinger of honey goodness. Without realizing it, he had licked his lips. "You're a great barkeep, that's for sure," he sighed, defeated, "I'll have a glass. But please! If I ask for another I implore you to deny me!" He laughed cheerfully as he placed a few gil on the bar; enough for the salad, and glass of mead.

In need of character development and lore resources.
Flamel Eldgamel replied to Kiverjig's topic in RP Discussion
CLICK! This has been the most information on Lalafells that I have found thus far. I myself am playing a plainsfolk, and this page helped me decide a few things. I hope it helps you! You can also click on the clans for a little more detail about them! -
Welcome to you both! FF has been a huge part of my life! I'm actually playing FFII as I'm typing this! It's the only one I never really played past the beginning. Everyone here is really nice and welcoming. The lore of Eorzea is incredible, and I can't wait to dive in deeper come phase 4! If you have any questions feel free to ask! Everyone is always willing to help here, which is good. Also, my personal favorite is FFVI.

"Very nice to meet you. This sounds like a fun place," Flamel smiled. He took an envelope out of his robe and looked at it, "I've been known to write poetry from time to time." He quickly and nervously placed the envelope back in his robe. Turning his attention to the salad, his smile grew wide at the inevitable deliciousness. He took a bite, being sure to chew with his mouth closed. When finished, he took a drink of water, "That is quite good. It would probably be excellent with a bit of mead." Out the side of his mouth and mostly to himself, he muttered, "Everything always is..." With a smile, he looked back at Abai. "I take it you perform here? A dancer I assume? You seem too graceful to just be a barkeep."
-
"Oh, no worries. I tend to be overlooked," he said rather depressingly. Thankfully, a smile returned to his face as he continued, "The Zesiro... hmmm... That actually sounds pretty good. With a glass of water please. If you wouldn't mind." The lalafell set the menu back down on the bar, and pulled off his spectacles. Placing them back in his robe, he asked, "So what's the stage for? And please forgive my asking. I've lived in Limsa my entire life, yet I've only stepped into this tavern once. Flamel Eldgamel, by the way," he introduced with an outstretched hand.

I will definitely be PMing someone for a pearl! If that's okay, I mean...
-
I think this sounds awesome! Like seriously. I personally am a sucker for poetry and stories in general, which I'm sure will come out in my character if given the chance. He doesn't really have many epic stories though, so he'd probably just contribute poems. Regardless, this is an amazing idea, and I would definitely try to attend!

Music moves the world man! My fiancee and I like to work together to create music. I mostly write lyrics though. She plays piano unlike anyone I've ever seen. Her grandpa bet her 100 dollars that she couldn't learn and play The Maple Leaf Rag by Scott Joplin without sheet music. She was ten, and showed him, winning herself 100 dollars and muscle memory to play an unbelievable tune! She also has the prettiest voice I've ever heard, and insists on learning to play and sing Eyes on Me for me. Which, I can't even listen to her practice without beginning to cry... the feels... Well, I often get sidetracked when I talk about her. >.< I personally play Viola right now. After I get a new C string onto the family's cello, I'll be fooling with it as well. I love strings! Other than that, I can play bass guitar decently. I've played guitar and drums as well. In middle school I began band classes with Clarinet. <3 But switched to bass clarinet in high school. <33 Eventually switching to tenor sax and marching it one year. My other marching year I played the big 4th bass drum. I also sing! Not as good as my fiancee of course (she's had voice training), but she likes my voice, and that's good enough for me.
