  1. But we don't know what God wants so everyone can bend it to their will. Until he comes down and says "This is how it is." Morality will always be subjective. Even in the bible there's a passage that says something to the effect of "The rules of man are also the rules of Heaven." which means anything we change, Heaven adapts. The world is not black and white, as God has proven by giving us free will. It's cool that your religious, but remember there are may who are decidedly not and their morals come from just knowing what's right and what's wrong.
  2. Alas, even that is subjective. Look at how many different branches of Christianity there is because of a different belief system. Catholics believe divorce is a sin Pentecostals believe that listening to secular radio is a sin. Mormonism once thought polygamy was okay. Jehovah's Witness's don't celebrate birthday's as it puts you before Jesus. Amish don't use any new technology as it's ALL a sin. Etc Etc
  3. It's not really an issue, we're supposed to be helping a dood out with his villainy and I'm not sure we're helping by arguing so grr argh villainy!
  4. In other news, may be the first time in history me and Ellion are arguing for the same side
  5. He's talking about the general ethical code of all people and society. There's a general ethical code of all man that may differ and then there a general society code of what is wrong and what is right. Even then, that varies from culture to culture.
  6. Hence the argument. What they believe is right is not societies belief of right, therefore is wrong. However they STILL believe they're doing right. That's the whole point.
  7. ^ I dunno man, Wyoming is pretty empty. It's not ambiguous mortality, we all know what Hitler did was wrong... except for Hitler and his followers, they thought he was doing right. No one is evil for the sake of being evil, there's always a reason. Hell let's talk video games. Sephiroth did was he did because he thought it was the natural conclusion of things, he didn't go "I'm gonna be evil and destroy the world now kthx." In FFX Seymour decided he was better for Spira than his father, and intended on marrying Yuna in an effort to unite it. He really thought he was doing what he felt was necessary. He did not think he was evil. Now in the movie Serenity, the main bad guy knows he's evil, but he says he's doing it for a more perfect world. Not one he will live in, as he is evil, but for future generations. He believes he's doing evil for the right reasons. There is a lot of different ways people justify their behavior and therefore it's perspective.
  8. Dude that is so true, all my characters kept landing on Kefka.
  9. It's pretty true unless your a sociopath... even then you don't know your doing right or wrong because you don't know the difference. Hitler didn't think what he was doing was bad, he though what he was doing was necessary. Who was the villian in the Revolutionary war? Was it the Brits and there taxes and rules? Or was is the Americans and there rebellious and disrespectful nature toward the crown? We fight wars on perspective. The winner declares the side that was bad. Everything is based off perspective.
  10. That's the rub isn't it? Villainy can only last so long. But that's also the fun of Roleplay. Try not to plan too far ahead of time and just see where it goes. You'll find your character growing in ways you didn't even expect.
  11. Nice, Kashemia is an excellent roleplayer, you have a good mentor there.
  12. Dexter doesn't really do it for justice, he just satisfies his... needs... by killing bad people. It's how he justifies his behavior. His father drilled it into his head that killing innocent people was wrong, even if he doesn't believe it. But enough about Dexter! Why wouldn't your character do anything good?
  13. Sounds like you want to make a more subtle villain. It's really hard to do so I wish you luck! It's easier for people to go the over the top Villain route because it gets them attention faster, but doing a more dark and mature villain (Who is still like-able as a character no less) takes a truly creative mind and a lot of patience. I'm glad you're deciding to go that route.
  14. Some guilds would definitely accommodate villains. Crimson Blades, for example, can have all types of people in it since it's jut a gathering of different people looking for mad loots. Most people in it's ranks are Neutral, some are good, some are leaning toward bad. Just find a guild that will go along with your villainy personality. There were only 2 or 3 villains in Aion, most of them were played really cartoony, muhahahaha-ing all over the place, causing trouble and never getting in trouble for it. Villains are actually really hard to play.
  15. Yes. More than enough. You only need .75 Gig's of RAM to run Windows 7 and only 2 gigs for FFXIV
  16. My name is Iego Montoya, you killed my father, prepare to die.
  17. I played a pirate in FFXI too, my guild was called the Crimson Pirates . Since pirates (And Privateers, too) have such a strong presence in FFXIV, I see people having many ships. And yeah, some people will run around without regard for law
  18. I hereby claim that FFXIV's big cliche will be Pirates (Says the girl who is playing one)
  19. ^ Teach me Russian. KTHXBai
  20. She looked over at the Lalafell but said nothing, then turned to Siben, "A sword that grants wishes... Wonder if it serves beer."
  21. I wrote an entire Table Top RPG, the lore, the planets, the races all that. I also write fiction books for it. Ellion did the combat system for me (It's a D10 system). Sci-fi as well. It's my pet project... someday I'll do something with it.... maybe
  22. Loki chuckled a bit to herself, "Fairy Tale nonsense."
