Much thanks. I had thought I had done a thorough search of the boards for a similar thread and couldn't fine one. If it was a snake, it woulda bit me.

I'm looking to the community to get a collection of data on different synonyms that are used in Eorzea (and pretty much all of Hydaelyn) with specific notation on region i.e. Black Shroud, Thanalan, La Noscea, etc, if at all possible or applicable. As data is collected, this initial post will evolve into a usable database that any RP'er can easily access. I'll start off and give a few examples. anyway = anyroad Hell = seven hells month = moon day = sun hour = bell

When I see people lined up for an instance that can only be accessed one at a time, I swell with pride at the community I am a part of on Balmung. However, I have recently been punched in the face with a fist of hypocrisy when I see so many of our 'own' community staying logged in so that they don't have to deal with 1017. This is selfish, plain and simple. If everybody logged off when they were done playing, everything would be so much better. /le sigh

I. Basic Info Characters: Brinoix Ahlrine Primary character: Brinoix Ahlrine Linkshells: Night Blades Primary RP linkshell: Night Blades II. RP Style Amount of RP (light, medium, heavy): Medium Views on RP combat and injuries: I'm alright with it as long as it follows common RP guidelines. Player 1 RP's the action directed at player 2 (CAUSE). Player 2 RP's the end result of the action (EFFECT). Views on IC romance: I'm not against it as long as it's not forced and follows the chemistry of RP flow. Views on non-romantic RP (family ties, etc): If someone wanted to be related to my toon, I'd prefer they talk to me about it before end. I may or may not be against the idea, depending on situational factors. Views on lore: Canon is very important to me. I go by all RP customs and courtesies. Views on chat functions (/say, /linkshell, etc): The only chat functions that I 'don't' RP in is /tell, /shout, /fc, and /party. Linkshell chat is dependent on if it is meant for OOC or IC. III. Thanks. Before, it was all about waiting for FFXIV's release on PS3, but now that I have my nice shiny PC and have tasted the fruits of ARR, I'm back on the train again.

Kinda sucks that the PS3 release will be postponed, but I guess as long as it ends up being worth it, then that's cool.

The Bailey wasn't just created to keep social shells separate from Pub discussions. It was primarily meant to keep advertisement separate from the Guild Hall. If the Bailey were to be dissolved, it would only be fair to allow social shells to advertise in the Guild Hall.

Which link is broken? Not sure which one you are referring to. I've checked the link on the OP and it seems fine. The info was split up in the wiki in order to consolidate all race info on each respective race's wiki page. EDIT: Just realized what the problem was, lol. All links directing to the old Library section will be removed since all data is located on the wiki.

I'm still waiting to actually get in the game in March when the PS3 release hits.

I'm sure there is probably some canon already in place for linkpearls. Those who are more involved in the game should be able to relay any info. That canon info would probably be a good thing to add to the wiki.

Didn't XI go through something pretty similar? I didn't get into XI until PS2 release though, and I remember at PS2 release, the community was pretty huge. IMO, SE kind of shot themselves in the foot by trying to throw a product out too soon in order to remain competitive with similar titles being released around the same time. Now, it seems like the community is having to deal with a 'glorified beta version' until SE gets everything back on track. I still feel confident that by PS3 release things will be looking a lot better.

FreeLance, can you change the following categories: Disciplines of Magic Disciplines of War Disciplines of Hand Disciplines of Land To this: Disciples of Magic Disciples of War Disciples of the Hand Disciples of the Land I feel that it better represents the category of disciplines as they are reflected in-game.

Looks like a lot of good stuff I saw them talk about the chat updates, which all look good, but I didn't see where it talked about increasing the number of characters that can be typed at one time
