In my FFXI experiance, females who were actually real females usually rolled Female Hume or Elvaan. I've never met too many females that rolled as male characters (although, I wouldn't blame them if they are trying to escape weirdos from hitting on them). I remember cat girls were in quite a surplus in XI so I wouldn't be suprised if that was the case once again in 14. In fact.....let me see if I can find the old FFXI census stats.

Most guys that I knew who rolled mithras in XI did it mainly for the DEX. I quite lierally knew more guy mithras than female mithras. So, regardless of what is true or not true, if you are a cat girl, I'm automatically assuming you are a guy unless you show me proof.

Whats funny is that I knew more guys that were mithra than women who were mithra in FFXI, so coming into 14, I'll be doing the same thing I did before. I will assume that every miqo'te is a guy until proven otherwise.

Well, like I said before, I have multiple reasons for choosing what I choose. Underdog-itus is not my only motivator. In fact, it's the probably lowest motivator out of all my reasoning. It was just included to give a throrough enough answer. Plus I was kind of poking a little irony at the whole deal. I think it's funny how everyone wants to be different so they all go with the unpopular choice which becomes the popular choice.

I'm gonna roll elezen for a few reasons... 1. Since most folks are avoiding it cause they think it will be too popular, that now makes it the unpopular choice, which I like being the odd man out. 2. I love the wildwood's stance on nature 3. I was an elvaan in XI 4. pointy ears are awesome

It's just the impression I'm starting to get, which I hope I'm wrong. I don't care if your religious, non-religious, democrat, republican, etc. I love all of you all the same and hope to create great friendships with you all. My impression is just based upon some of the posts that I have seen which don't really seem like 'friendly disagreements', and that worries me.

Hooray! My whole point is just that I don't care where we end up. As long as we're together I don't care if it's an executive decree. That tends to be more efficient. /shrug I'm not saying I have any problem with the vote, I just don't understand people freaking out over a vote being canceled when it's not going to be over something that is, to me, not important. One man's trash is another man's treasure. All things of this nature are subjective through the eyes of the individual.

I have no ill will towards your suggestion. Everyone has a right to their opinion. I respect your opinion just as much as I would hope others respect my own opinion. The fact that it is under consideration does not bother me. I only said that I understand why individuals would be upset over the matter, because they have a fear of losing that choice, and that choice is indeed a very big deal. When it comes to the matter of 'choice' it is always a big deal, regardless of the details of the choice being made. We may be the 'vocal' minority, but that it only seems that way because we are the only ones being vocal. Believe me when I say there are many more that feel as we do, but are more 'lurkers' then they are 'vocal'. It also saddens me how individuals on both sides of the argument are planning to take the route of "you don't agree with me so I don't want to hang around you anymore". This only perpetuates our community to be further divided. We should be working on building bridges, not burning them.

It's not about picking a certain server name. It's about DEMOCRACY. It's about having the right to have a say in the matter. I like to feel like I matter, so a vote is very important in my eyes. To take that away would be very unethical in my opinion. Is the choice that big of deal? No it isn't, but it isn't about that, it's about what the choice represents. It's the principal of the matter. If there are individuals enraged over the fact that the vote is even in consideration of being taken away is quite understandable. I am not in agreement that the right of 'choice' be taken away from so many so that so few who are in beta can have certain privileges (such as securing a name 'in-game'). If you take away the vote or lessen it's value, why not go the whole nine and eliminate all voting? (for the charter, for all future proposals). Because by taking this vote away, why should folks care about voting after that? If I vote for something in the future, it could potentially not matter because of discussions made by council leaders that I do not get to partake in. At that point, I'll feel exactly like how I do with voting in corrupt government officials, and that point is that "it doesn't matter what our vote is. Our power as a community is an illusion which has the only purpose of making us 'think' our opinions matter" Voting reinforces our importance as a whole, as a community. What good is a RP community that is not community at all but a divided bunch of individuals who seek to gain their own good despite taking certain individual rights from others? I'm not even going to be in-game until PS3 release and already have my character's first and last name posted up on the forum. I'm pretty creative, if someone hijacks my name, I'll just make a new one, no big deal. Surely not a big enough deal to rob the people of their right to have a choice.
