Great idea and nice name The only additional suggestion I'd have to add to this would be to perhaps have seperate episodes where one is done IC (to explain current events with RP lore) and the other is done OOC (to talk about game mechanics, etc)

Yar, I have faith that by the time the game releases, there will be a reasonable way to utilize emotes via text commands. Doesn't really seem like it would be difficult to do, so an absence of it 'would' be a bit disheartning. I still have high hopes though.

I'll probably be at comic con next year in SD....seeing how it's just a short drive to the coast for me.

Congrats guys. I only hope that when they start doing beta for PS3, I'll be able to get a hold of that. If anyone hears anything about PS3 beta keys, please let me know.

Yar, I'm overall happy with the end result. For the most part, it looks like we already brought a good bit of realization to their eyes.

It's my opinion that the biggest cause of the gaming community's dislike towards roleplayers is purely the fact that they are not informed on what we are about. From what I know, history has proven time and time again that ignorance leads to fear, anger, and hatred. It's kind of ironic because you would think those gamers would relate with how we feel, as there are many adults who don't even game and constantly grief other adults who do game. If any of these folks were to lend an ear to our words and actually know the truth about roleplayers, I feel confident that there wouldn't be as much animosity towards us. Informing the community is probably the best thing we could do (coming from a respectful position of course).

Yar, I'm a HUGE Fallout fan. I'm looking forward to Fallout Online but I'm worried about the liscence rights battle between Bethesda and Interplay. I'd have to say that I really love what Bethesda is doing with the series and would kind of prefer to see Bethesda run the MMO, but oh well. I'll see what is in store for the future.

You invite a friend over to your house for the afternoon. Describe what your friend would see upon entering your home. "First thing that he or she would notice would probably be all of the succulents, cacti, and other flowers in pots throughout the house. My large windows would let in plenty of sunlight, making it easy to notice the craftsmanship of all the handmade wooden furniture. Although, I haven't gotten skilled enough to make such beautiful pieces. What furniture I have was made by my late-mother, but I hope to one day be as skilled. However, on my bookshelf, you'll notice many small decorative wooden figurines. These pieces I've whittled myself. On many nights I like to relax in my rocking chair in front of the fireplace and just whittle away." During the casual small-talk that ensues, your friend asks you if you have read any good books lately. How do you respond? *nods his head with a gentle smile, then gestures to his bookshelf* "I picked up a great one from a traveling merchant just recently. It's called 'The Lone Cactaur', a fiction based on an amazing creature. I'd love to actually see one of these fellows one day........from a safe distance of course. *chuckles* Your friend eventually leaves, and you're still bored. Restless, you leave the house and set out for a walk. Describe the neighborhood you live in. "It is a quiet area hidden away in Gridania, away from the hustle and bustle of the town square. The hulking trees can be seen all around, reaching up to the heavens with their massive branches as sunlight glared between the leaves." Oh no! An orphan is in trouble! Down the street from where you stand, a small street urchin is being bullied by three larger youths. What do you do about it? *Holding his walking stick, Brin approaches the youthes. Before they notice him, Brin quickly raps each bully upon the head with his walking stick* "You three get on home or else I can find something constructive for you all to do. Perhaps you could do for a day of working out in the fields?" Adventure time! The next day, still restless, you decide that what you need is a good change of pace. How do you pack for your four-day road trip to Ishgard? "I pack fairly light, as much of what I use is available to me out in the wild. I'd have a simple pack with some essential herbs, medicines, a journal for taking notes, flint stone for making a campfire, and a thin rolled up mat to sleep on top of. Other than that, I'd just have my walking stick with me." Along your journey, you spot some bandits waiting at a bridge across a wide but slow moving river up ahead of you. They haven't seen you yet. You need to cross the bridge to get to where you're going. How do you handle the situation? "I'd wait 'till nightfall, warning any folk traveling through the area. Once the bandits are asleep, I would cross the bridge and move through their camp very stealthily. After taking any weapons that I can get a hold of in the camp without waking the bandits, I would fasten their weapons to their chocobos, untie the chocobos' harness, and slap the rear end of the chocobos with my walking stick. After the chocobos have abandoned the camp, I'd be on my way, leaving the bandits in a much more vulnerable position." You have just arrived for the first time in a new big city. Where do you go first? "I'd find a store that'd be willing to trade with me, as I would have picked up various useful herbs along the way. After that, I'd find the nearest bookstore to see if there are any books that may interest me." For being the 1,000th tourist to the city, you have been given a 6,000 gil voucher to spend as you like at the Ishgard Department Store (think FFXIV version of Macy's). What do you spend it on? "New rare pots for my plants and any rare seeds I might be able to get a hold of. The rest, I would spend on clothes for those unfortunate souls in the city that are in need." All of that shopping has made you deliriously hungry. What sort of food establishment do you seek out for lunch? "I'd be interested in finding a place that cooked authentic food of the region. Tasting new food is always a treat to me." Five months later and safely back at home, you realize the Winter Festival is approaching! What sort of present do you pick out for your mother (or nearest living relative, or closest friend)? "I would decorate one of my small trees with various Winter Festival knick knacks, and deliver it personally."

Oy...I r tired. I've been busy getting a template set up for the RPC. Below are links to the Template page where the cheat sheet can be copied and pasted at the bottom if interested, and a link to my character's profile page (which feel free to get any good ideas from it, regarding organization and setup, to create your own profile page. If you do create your own profile page, I suggest to make sure to add Category tags (can be seen at the bottom of my character's page) that are relevant to your character. That way, specific searches for specific character lists can be that much more easily found. Nice. ^.^ To add to that, I'd love it if our server 'whichever one that may end up being' had it's own RP wiki page that contained not only canon of the game, but our own personal character development. To get a better understanding of what I am talking about, please view the City of Heroes wiki page for Virtue (which was the unofficial RP server of CoH). I wish to find these supposed 'fans' that requested a golden subligar and punch them right in the FACE! Why oh why does the JP community have a thing for subligars? I'll never understand.

I don't see why names would have to remain static in a certain format to appease canon? The naming process is something that evolves and changes over time in many societies (maybe not all, but thats besides the point). Who cares if your name doesn't look like the same format of many of the names of your NPC brethren? Just chalk it up to your parents being 'progressive', In an age of adventuring, I'd imagine that much of the land of Eorzea would be impacted by all the different societies, making the land a sort of 'melting pot' when it comes diversity.
