That's a great screenshot. I admit, healing is very boring right now, but that's to be expected. We have exactly two healing spells. Two. And that's all we'll have until the late 20s. So yes, it's exceedingly boring if you are an experienced healer and are used to more difficult content. I'm pretty sure I'm telling my friend Trademere to tank with no pants on so that I can have something entertaining to do. I was falling asleep in the last Sastasha run I did. Edited to add: Don't beat yourself up too much about almost losing the tank. If he dipped that quickly, it stands to reason that he did something silly - turned his back to mobs, overpulled, didn't use a CD correctly, didn't do his rotation correctly, etc. Plus, everyone does silly things at some point as a healer. Like the time I had Leap of Faith (i.e. grip a friendly party member to you) keybound to the keybind I used to use for a healing spell I used for tank maintenance. And forgot that it wasn't keybound to that anymore. And Lifegripped the tank to me. Across the room. When the boss did a frontal cone. >.> Oh oh, and the time I fell off the giant angry dragon boss's back because I misjudged a jump. The time I dispelled someone's debuff at the wrong moment and completely wiped the raid (it killed errrrrrybody). Think of them as amusing anecdotes to relate to your friends later on.

Then again, maybe I'm misreading the wording. It's strange to me because what it sounds like is that the servers aren't properly releasing sessions when someone logs out/gets disconnected. Plus, if you're doing active maintenance to a running game...I know you can hotfix some things, but usually you do have to do a restart to make things kick in.

No server restart really seems strange when this bug is so widespread.

Oh. I know Balmung was open for 30 mins to an hour sometime this morning because I was able to make a character before I went to bed. But I don't think it's been open at all today otherwise.

The servers they already have don't work correctly. :-\

So, what would happen if we went back in? Would that recognize that we went through, and then allow us to finally leave? Nope, it won't let you back in. You'll keep crashing and getting error 9000 or 3102. I'm skeptical that the emergency maintenance that they're doing will be successful. I mean, it could be, but it doesn't involve server restarts, so... And what all this sounds like, honestly, is that the servers aren't letting sessions go correctly.

Where'd you hear that? I can't get on the forums due to the "the forums have rolled over and died, but you can use twitter, which we haven't updated in eight hours" message. Not doubting you or anything, just curious. It's being spammed to the JP servers right now (and, according to a friend still connected to Behemoth, to their server as well).

So what you're saying is, Felix is the reason we can't log in. I knew it!

They're about to start performing emergency maintenance on the NA database center, so maybe that will fix this.

Yeah, I already reported it for myself and two other friends (as they can't get into the Beta Forums at all, it just won't load for them). So far the thread is on Page 617 and counting.

There was someone in a Linkshell I'm in who mentioned that bug just shortly before I got DC'd. She didn't mention a way to fix it, however, and I can't get back in to ask her, sadly. :-\

I would also really like an invite. I'm on Liadan Summerfield. Well, assuming I can ever log back in... >.<

I'm actually worried about this. I didn't really understand how the registration process worked when I got into the beta, and I set up my account at the SE clearinghouse site (where you do the actual paying of the account, etc) as an EU account. Now I can't change my region. I've put in a support ticket, but heard nothing back. So I guess tomorrow, in between raid tests in WoW's PTR, I'll be calling them. :-\

I have actually been to that Renfaire! I went back in 2005. It's a really AWESOME Ren Faire! Totally jealous you're able to go!

This.... She is very pretty! Love the way her eyes just shine! If only I could get into playing furry-ish characters. >.> I just can't. I do best just RPing humans or things close to humans. In WoW, I had a Pandaren RP character, but although I LOVE her, I just...cannot...get into RPing her. It makes me very sad!

I have not read much of R.A. Salvatore. I was never a huge Drizzt fan. >.> But I DID read the Liriel Baenre series, and actually was inspired to make a character on a Neverwinter Nights Persistent World Server because of reading the series. Thanks to everyone (including the people I didn't quote) for the reassurance. I need to do a lot more reading before I even start on a character, I think!

Hi! I don't really know what to say here, as I haven't actually...worked out a character or anything. I'm new. Please don't eat me. I actually only found out about the FFXIV reboot a few months back. Since then, my friend Mist has been inundating me with information, trailers, and, "OMG THIS IS SO AWESOME YOU HAVE TO TRY IT." He got me a Beta key for Beta 3, and I tried it and well... I loved it. So now I've pre-ordered the game and myself and a friend are planning on playing together. The only thing is I have my heart set on playing on an RP server, because, well...I love to RP. I got my start in Yahoo Chat's Ayenee years and years ago, and from there played in White Wolf's World of Darkness setting on SEAChat website-based games. That led to me discovering Bioware's Neverwinter Nights, where I played happily for years in one of my favorite settings, Forgotten Realms. Unfortunately, the user-made Persistent World Servers are mostly dying, as Neverwinter Nights is more and more difficult to obtain, more and more difficult to connnect to servers unless you know where they are, and many video drivers no longer support the game. I also play World of Warcraft, and have for about six years now. :angel: I have tried RPing in WoW, but I've never been able to really get into it, which I found distressing as I've always enjoyed RP. I tried RPing in Rift, and that didn't really work out. I tried in SWTOR, too, but became increasingly disillusioned by EA and Bioware's lack of support for RP in the game platform. When I found out that FFXIV:ARR would have RP servers, I started looking around for information. Confession: I've actually been stalker-browsing these forums for a while now. >.> But I've never had the courage to post. Like I said, I really want to play on an RP server, but I'm not sure which server to choose. I'm somewhat worried if I choose the non-Legacy server, it will end up like my experience in SWTOR, where I didn't end up rolling on the "main" RP server and thus...there was little to no RP. I'm also worried that if I join a Legacy server, the people may not be as open and welcoming (admittedly a holdover from my experiences in WoW). I was hoping perhaps some forum regulars could shed light on that, actually. Anyway, I will keep rambling if I don't stop myself, so I am stopping myself. I'm still working on a character concept, so that's really up in the air.
