Hey there, welcome to Gilgamesh! Everyone else already explained everything that needs to be said but it's good to see more new faces popping up on our server. Don't be afraid to walk up and say hi to Adolar Stone or Ghen'li Verah if you ever find them out and about.

Berserk :: Meet & Greet for Disciples of War
Adolar replied to CrimsonMars's topic in Chronicled Events
Heya Chiyo. I'll be sure to be there. Also you should think about posting your linkshell over on this page (along with a pretty icon of course). http://ffxiv-roleplayers.com/forumdisplay.php?fid=15&filtertf_srvr=Gilgamesh -
Awesome! I've already joined but just giving my endorsement.

Thanks. Added it to the main post.

I agree. Thanks for the support!

(Credits to Olyver Hyral who proposed the idea and wrote out the post below) IC Recruitment Bazaar Who: RP FC Leaders and two Officers (maximum) Where: Ul'dah - Emerald Avenue Gridania - Botanist's Guild Limsa Lominsa - The Aftcastle When: Bi-weekly/monthly weekends on all three nights, 8pm EST every night. (Adjust according to timezone.) Ul'dah - April 11th Gridania - April 12th Limsa Lominsa - April 13th Why: Build open-world RP, include currently excluded RPers and generally build the RP community How: IC Recruitment for the first half hour to an hour followed by OOC sharing of goals, such as current houses/housing goals, raiding goals, RP goals, etc. Advertising will be done the entire week before the event via IC shouts/word of mouth through talking in the inn and market, as well as during the event in the two other cities via shouts. Shouting should always be done by a bard, being the entertaining/heralding class. Further dates will be posted a week to two weeks prior to the actual event; expect at least one of the recruitment weekends a month. If you are not looking for an FC, please feel free to come just to join in the RP - if you're in an FC that is attending and wish to come, please do not crowd the area around your FC. We want all FCs, including smaller ones, to benefit from this; as such, boasting higher numbers that appear will diminish the smaller FCs chances of growing and will ultimately destroy the entire purpose of this event. Current weekend goals: March 21-23, April 11-13. During the school year, the bazaar will be once a month; during the Summer, bi-weekly, and the weekend before Christmas as well as the weekend after New Year's to avoid intruding on family time. The idea is to pull in new RPers as well as expand the current RP FCs. The FCs who come to the bazaar will probably change every time, with new ones coming and old ones leaving. The point in scheduling these events on weekend nights is to avoid being trolled by raiders, who will more than likely be too busy gearing, especially with the patch release. If you have any further ideas, please feel free to post them; the goal is to expand the Gilgamesh RP community!

This sounds pretty interesting and may be something my alt would want to take part in. What date is this set on, exactly?

Hello. I've seen your skulking around but I've never really got around with meeting you ICly. Would be more than glad to have Adolar meet you next time I catch you. Also our FC house is open to everyone so don't be afraid to enter and join the chaos. If you're looking for some decent FCs, I could invite you into the Coalition OOC LSs where you can meet some fellow RPers and sort of window shop for an FC that fits your character. Our OOC Driftwood LS is also open to non-FCers as well and we've got some space open right now. Just shoot me a /tell ingame and I'll help you out.

Welcome! Could never have enough pirates.

Hello, glad you picked Gilgamesh. Always good to see new faces within our RP community. You can contact me ingame by the names Adolar Stone or Ghen'li Verah and I'll be sure to invite you into a few OOC RP LSs where you could network with the rest of the RP community. Also plugging in a new FC set up from a friend of mine. United Blades are currently looking for more members and we welcome veteran and new RPers alike. Since it's still new, we're still in the process of recruiting more members before getting into the main FC storyline so be sure to check it out if you would like to take part in something fresh.

Greetings, welcome to Gilgamesh! Feel free to contact Adolar Stone or Ghen'li Verah ingame if you're interested in RPing or getting into a few RP LSs. Also shamelessly promoting my friend's FC called the United Blades that has been formed just recently. We're looking for all types of RPers to help it get off the ground so be sure to check this page out if you're interested!

Interesting concept there. Hope to come across you folks ingame. Also be sure to post your FC up here to get more people to notice: http://ffxiv-roleplayers.com/forumdisplay.php?fid=15&filtertf_srvr=Gilgamesh It says it's for linkshells but it's meant for FCs as well.

I think the RP community is kind of dwindling down because of the usual lull that occurs between huge updates in MMOs. People are getting burnt out and just don't feel like playing for a while. I'm assuming it will pick up again once things like personal housing and new end-game content gets released. I'm pretty sure the ridiculous FC housing prices probably turned away a lot of RPers as well (it was quite a problem for our FC since the goal of ours centered around housing in the first place). Anywho, I usually tend to dislike tavern RP myself so I would love to get involved with some sort of conflict or story arc with you but we're not on the same server. I wish you the best of luck though.

Woo! Good job with setting this up. Be sure to get in contact with Bruden Grin, Ghen'li Verah (my alt), or Adolar Stone ingame if you're interested in an invite and interview. Or check out the guild site listed above.

Anyone heard of Black Desert Online? A friend mentioned this game to me a while back. It's a Korean MMO (GASP!) but it actually has a lot of very sandboxy elements which is a pretty interesting direction considering the state of MMOs today. The game world looks huge and the graphics are pretty awesome. Combat looks like it'll be more action-oriented like how Tera was but that has never really bothered me much. It's probably the only MMO I'm anticipating right now besides FFXIV expansions. I'll hold back my judgment however, until it's actually released, or at least goes into beta. These types of MMOs can go bad very easily if not executed right and I'm just generally very skeptical about MMOs in general... Anyway, here's a trailer of the game for anyone interested.

FC Name: Driftwood Coast FC Leader: Kayle Delwyn Location: The Goblet, Ward 3, Plot 19 Playtimes: Mostly during US times. Pretty active during the evenings. Just bought the house and we're all pretty excited about it. Been working really hard with the furnishings and giving it just the right atmosphere. The house is meant as more of a clubhouse sort of setting for the Drifters but it's open to all RPers. Come on in and relax whenever you feel like it. Also, be sure to check our website. We may be hosting any upcoming events within our house. FC Site: http://driftwood.enjin.com Facebook Page: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Driftwood-Coast/713842635314248

Really late reply but sorry about that. Been wrestling with the weird dating system this website has so I just entered the time it would start for myself, thinking it would automatically convert to everyone else's timezone. Guess I was wrong. :dazed: Anyway, it was still a great turn-out! Seen several new faces and quite a bit of interesting...and chaotic things going on (which may or may not be at the fault of Xi >_>). Managed to barter a few items off as well. Hope everyone had fun. Wish I had took some screenies but I always forget to do that sort of thing...

I can see the possibility in having the linkshell track its users. If the device is giving off some sort of aetheric energy then there could be a way to pinpoint the person's location through some sort of magical GPS system. Visual feedback sounds like it could work as well. Seems like something that would happen naturally over time if Eorzea's technology advances at all. Or maybe I'm just thinking too much in RL terms? On the other hand, the Garleans seem to have machinery much more advanced than a simple video camera so Eorzeans just need to steal all of their secrets at some point. :cactuar: The telepathic thing is really iffy for me, mainly because I'm not too big of a fan of the concept in general. I would assume it would require a person to properly organize their thoughts so that they don't accidentally broadcast the wrong message floating around in their head and that doesn't seem like something an average adventurer would be very good at. I suppose that could lead to humorous situations though. A telepathic MT?

Maybe it's because I'm not that heavy of an RPer but people approaching me ICly while I'm OOC doesn't bother me too much. Depending on the situation, I might jump right into IC with them or kindly let them know that I'm currently OOC. With that said, I usually try to ask if someone is IC or OOC before attempting to RP with them, unless it's in one of the main RP hubs, or if I already know them well or something.
-
I don't see it attracting any trolls, really. Promoting the RPC will only help bring more Gilgamesh activity on here. Also, if you're thinking of joining more linkshells, I'm a part of a couple of OOC ones so just shoot me a /tell if you would like an invite.

Can't personally help you since Adolar isn't exactly a merc but I believe there's an FC centered around those type of characters. Try looking for players with the EoN tag ingame. They're meant to be an FC of mercenaries.

Hey man, sorry to hear what you're going through, though I guess it doesn't have much weight coming from a complete stranger. You can PM me ingame if you feel like chatting, RPing, dungeon runs, or whatever else. Ingame name is Adolar Stone. I'm probably not the best person to vent to but we're or the same server so why not? Most Gilgamesh RPers rarely visit the RPC, if at all. I'm willing to guess that many don't even realize this website exists.

That's an interesting find. I always figured the B part of the two names were considered the family name but this makes a lot more sense.
