  1. Getting ready to set sail into Stormblood! Still looking for a few more bodies to fill out what has become a real promising start to this endeavor.
  2. - Chat Bubbles - Appearance Tab - Better looking "armor" for magic users.
  3. One thing roleplayers are great at, is drama and lots of it. As many have said here, you just gotta say "fawk it!", try not to let it eat at you and find new people to play with. There are to many cool, chill people out there to worry about a few fawktards.
  4. Hey, hey, hey, sheath those claws kitty cat. I don't think anyone here said anything about a "us vs them" scenario when it comes to Legacy and New players. And I'm pretty sure not a single person even mentioned having gear envy, or bashing of legacy players, but maybe I missed that post *shrug* I know I mentioned Legacy players in one of my posts, and the point I was trying to make was that when your the new kid on the block (people like me) it can be hard to break into established communities/guilds. I played SWG for 7 years, and when we got new players we often heard the same thing about how it was sometimes hard for them to assimilate (borg!) with an existing community.
  5. I think we were typing our posts at the same time, so my post wasn't directed "at" yours, but at others I've seen in my short time here, so no apologies needed. You make some very good points. A lot of my poor experience so far could simply be chalked up to "wrong place, wrong time". Also the FF community is a bit different than what I am used to. Usually the cantina/tavern/inn's in other games are slammed with RPers with walls of text flying, and here they seem to be pretty empty. I know a RP community exists here (its a busy forum), just haven't seen where your all hiding yourselves at.
  6. As for the original post, I to have wondered if Gilgamesh would have more RP, or at least be more welcoming. It's not that the Balmung community has been rude, but we are dealing with the Legacy community, with established cliques and sometimes breaking into those can be hard. It doesn't help with you think you see a group of RPers standing about, but none of them are talking outside of their group/party/linkshell. Doesn't exactly scream "hey come RP with us" rather in screams the opposite. Also I see "you need to join a linkshell/free company to find RP" posted a lot on this forum, and that's kind of depressing to think the community is so xenophobic of strangers. The exact same problems may exist on Gilgamesh, I have yet to roll a character there. But with the community there being new, it may or may not feel more welcoming to someone looking for RP. I dunno, I'm not ready to give up on Balmung just yet.
  7. Well you did post your opinion as if it was fact, and adding a disclaimer later doesn't really change the fact that you (inadvertently) painted an entire community as cyber whores. So its understandable that some of the Gilgamesh got their panties in a bunch and came to defend their server (which only escalated things) All that being said, the ONLY rp ive seen on Balmung (so far) was two cat girls (they probably have no idea what miqo'te even are) picking up on each other at the Drowning Wench before going off to go spread some cat nip on each others naughty bits.
  8. You can add Nebezial Asheri to that list. I came to FF alone and am starting over fresh trying to find new friends and people to play with. So finding RP has been a real struggle for me thus far.
  9. Without repeating what has already been said, this is exactly how I feel. I'm a normal person IRL, when I get home I want to RP being something a bit "more" than I can be IRL, but without going overboard and declaring myself to be Shiva in Miqo'te form.
  10. I don't know, I still think SE could of looked at their pre-sales two weeks prior to launch and seen that they did not have the capacity they needed. Not saying that, that would of been enough time to "fix" the problem, but maybe it would of given them time to come up with a solution like an actual working queue and an automatic AFK log out system. Both are pretty basic features in MMOs today.
  11. Got into the queue at 33, got booted from teh queue at 29. Grrrrr!!!
  12. Thank you! Just joined "Intermission" figured that was a good as place to start as any.
  13. Thank you. Been slowly picking my way through the links there, but being completely new here and starting by myself (none of my friends are playing FF and don't plan to) some of it is overwhelming.
  14. Greetings, Well I am new around here, but I am not new to RPing. Been doing it in games since Ultima Online. I look forward to RPing here, and getting to meet new people and RP new things. I've been playing FF games since Nintendo, but can't say I know a great deal about the lore even after all these years. During Beta I landed on Balmung, so hopefully I can find a fun group of mature players to learn and to play with. (I don't see Free Company recruitment threads anywhere, so consider this my "Hey I'm looking for a guild/free company!" pronouncement. See you all in game!! (If I could get in that is......) In game Name: Nebezial Asheri
  15. Like others I decided to go with a unconventional name. At first I was a bit worried that I had just created one of the greatest sins in the FFRP Community (like naming yourself Skywalker in SWTOR). I am glad to see so many others have done the same as me, and that it can and will in most cases be accepted if there is a backstory to the name, which I have already created.
  16. Can't believe I was forced to play ToR today. :frustrated: Was really looking forward to getting in game, meeting new people and playing the game.
  17. Strife

    A sad day

Like most new games (i know this isn't exactly new.....) if you can wait out the first 30 days room is bound to to free up after the included free time expires. I know that doesn't really help in the short term.
