Lan Darklyn

I figured I'd add my 2 Gil. As far as online RP I started back in chat rooms and forums and it was not uncommon for one of my characters to become involved in some sort of romance. I've done all sorts of styles with relationships too, after all, in real life there are relationships that start off slow and shy but there are also whirlwind romances that hit someone like a train (sometimes leading to clothes being torn) lol Romance can help bring all kinds of fun elements to an RP. What happens if someone is kidnapped? Maybe the romance is a secret one because one of the participants if married to someone they don't love...etc..etc. As far as the "sexy" stuff goes. I have done both the fade to black part, and the actual RP of what happens when the lights go down. It's up to the RPers to decide just how they want to proceed when it reaches that point and I think you should just go with what works for you. And yes, remember that there is a boundry between RP and RL, be wary of skirting that line. I've seen some creepy things happen in the past lol.

Well in that case maybe Lan could apply to be a sort of handy man around the place, fixing the building up, makeing props, those sorts of things. He is a former soldier who has some issues problems of his own, but I could see him looking into a job like this, he has been doing odd jobs since he woke up from the time skip.

To have a job at Ambrosia do you want someone to have the job in game? Such as for your cooks do you want them to be good Culinarians?

Yes, we need this very badly and I think most everyone agrees it will help the server load.

WoW's system to change the looks of armor was a pretty nice thing for roleplayers.

I've also been back and forth trying to get into the game, it still has yet to happen.

It was a shame I was unable to miss this event, I hope I will be able to get into some of the others when the server stops being a big fat JERK.

I've had this same problem a couple of times myself. For me it seems like I get the crash part when I am trying to zone.

Yeah so I have made some posts and I figure I might as well get this done before someone kicks my butt lol --MMORPG background I've played lots of MMORPGs starting back with Ultima Online, EQ, WoW, SWTOR, GW2, Age of Wushu, Jade Dynasty, Forsaken World, Star Trek Online...etc. --RP experience Started RPing way back in AD&D 2nd Edition...Some of you might not remember that at all, I was even playing back when RPGs were considered works of the Devil lol. I've RPed in Chat Rooms, forums, IMs and recently MMORPGs..yeah I am a bit late to the party on that I guess. --Character ideas/info Well Lan Darklyn is the character I have made now on Gilgamesh and he is....well complicated and a bit messed up right now. I'm a pretty big geek, I like anime, video games, comics and what not, but I am also a huge gun guy too. I love my firearms but not in a crazy way, at least I think it's not crazy. Well there we go, I log into the RPC today and see that lovely message on the front page. I just hope they start those upgrades soon.

I'm not sure if I have just been lucky but I seem to have been able to get in with very little problems today so maybe things are looking up.

Just found this post and I think that Lan might show up on occasion for the simple fact of trying to enjoy himself for a bit and forget the past.

I'm new to FF 14 and obviously new to this site. I am not new to MMOs or RP though. (I'll do an intro thread later today hopfully) Anyway I must agree with everyone that wishes us to use paitence. The RP community is small enough as is and if we spread out over too many servers we will our sense of community dissolve and the RP sessions will be few and far between. SE will fix the problems, it has been a rough start for the game, but they have a lot rideing on this, they don't want to see it fail. Stay strong everyone, and stick together.
