I'm admittedly super shy about posting this, however, I'd love to get these two out meeting people/connections outside of bar venues and other little events like that, something more long term. I've been roleplaying for over ten years but only about a year on FFXIV itself. My preference is multi-para but I tend to adjust to my rp partners length post comfort. Discord, Google Docs, and in-game are all okay options for me! PST time zone, available weeknights or during most hours on the weekends. Thank you for responding to this and, even more so, for your honesty about your own experience; it was actually about Balmung, apologies for not clarifying that! I've started groups and organizations before but not on FFXIV specifically so I wasn't sure what type of challenges and expectations people had when it came to finding communities they truly fit with. I seriously appreciate your feedback, it's definitely given me details to reflect on!

Hey there! While I'm not the most experienced player in terms of years, I'm confident with saying a pirate captain, current or ex, is completely within the realm of roleplay and lore in kind. There are even sky pirates if the sea doesn't sound appealing! Here's an article that actually discusses a bit about known pirates and organizations acknowledged within the lore. Course, you can create your own that may be in alliance with an established pirate crew or perhaps your crew is in conflict with one of the crews. Possibilities are endless. In terms of classes, any and all could work with a little bit of writing but I've primarily seen Machanists used due to the gun-like weapon. A Rouge could easily fit as well due to their association with thieving and deception. I hope this helped in some way!

First and foremost, I want to preface this is not a recruitment thread or an attempt to establish a Free Company. However, if this is not the place to ask this type of question, please let me know and I'll move the thread as soon as possible. My question, to both old and new players alike, is creating a brand new FC, primarily focused on rp, worth it if (so far) you've found nothing that currently fits within the realm of your character? Have people found themselves in a similar situation? Or have any of you actually tried this and found the challenges not worth it and/or not rewarding? I'm not looking to switch my homeworld or rewrite the character but I'd really appreciate some advice! I've always enjoyed connecting with communities and making new friends so I hope to not completely throw away the idea of an FC for the character but if people feel that is the better route, please don't hesitate to say so, I'm looking for all ranges of constructive feedback.

Hey everyone! After a lot of deliberation and following the site for a while, thank you for building such a wonderful hub for roleplayers by the way, I've decided to finally make an account and extend a more formal greeting. It has been quite a while since I've been apart of a forum so I apologize in advance for any mistakes here. I've been playing FFXIV for a year now (started Easter weekend of 2020) and have thoroughly thrown myself into an immense love for not only the game but the community behind it. Which brought me here! While my roleplaying in MMO's is nearly none, I've been roleplaying for 10+ years on forums, dA groups, etc. and, unsurprisingly, that has lead me to want to try a hand at roleplaying with my FFXIV characters! I'm a character creator at heart, my oc's are probably my absolute favorite thing to draw, but there's things sometimes I, as the creator, cannot truly inspire in my characters like another's interactions can. So, apologies, the characters themselves have information still in the works. But I hope I can provide something/someone/etc. of interest to you all!
