  1. Kieaira seemed content with a smile on her face as she pet the carbuncle, though for a brief instant her entire demeanor changed, her ears lay flat, her eyes widened and the smile slipped from her face, even her hand paused from the slow stroking motion. Surely the carbuncle would notice the sudden change, but as soon as it came it went, and only those with a really good eye would notice. Something had been said that caught her attention but what exactly, would remain unanswered, as her smile returned and she brought her attention back to the carbuncle, her mind drifting into random thoughts once more.
  2. Kieaira's mouth opened and her hands raised up to her shoulders, balled into little fists and she looked like she was about to squee with delight, but stopped herself at the last second so as not to scare the little carbuncle that was now curled up in her lap. Slowly, she lowered her hands, resting on upon the carbuncles head, gently rubbing between its' ears as she shifted her attention to those around her. It seemed she had succeeded in not being bombard with anymore questions, that paired with the soft creature had calmed her nerves. She took the time now to regard the rest, eyes moving from Aartur to Elisan as they spoke, and then over to where Ryan had been, frowning slightly as she had missed his exit, then to Baer who had been busily munching and drinking (Which she assumed he still was doing), glancing then to where the Lalafell had been, again she frowned ... another departure missed. You're doing great at this whole making friends things... Her gaze then moving around the tavern, taking note of the various people who were busy about their business, including that of another Hyur man who was alone. (Vareli) She would have liked to invite him to join their conversation, but she was far too shy to approach, so instead she just shifted her attention back to the little creature she had quickly grown a fondness for. It's so much easier making friends with furry little creatures like you. She thought, gazing down at the carbuncle and smiling.
  3. Kieaira's ears perked right up once the carbuncle moved closer, allowing her to pet him. Her eyes widened with obvious joy ... she was a sucker for cute things, but then again aren't most girls? She gently slid her fingers through the soft fur, her smile widening enough to see the tips of her pointed canines, and she seemed, for once, to be completely calm and relaxed. Slowly she leaned back in the chair and moved her hand to pat at her lap, hoping the carbuncle would jump down and curl up in her lap, so she could continue to pet the small creature while the others conversed.
  4. Kieaira payed no attention to the disappearing Lalafell, nor did she really notice anything else, her gaze fixated on the shiny carbuncle as it moved closer, a half-smile creeping across her lips. She wiggled her fingers to try and entice it just a bit closer so she could attempt touching it, her curiosity running wild with all sorts of ideas of what one of these things would feel like. Again she made a few more chittering noises, her ears laying back in anticipation, she almost looked like an animal getting ready to pounce on her prey, her long white tail flittering back and forth between the hole in the chair that she sat upon.
  5. Did... Did he just read my mind? Kieaira blinks sitting up a bit straighter as she stared at Aartur. You idiot ... you said that out loud. A rosy flush tinged her cheeks, but she tried to play it off as if she had meant to be speaking to him. "Oh I see..." Was all she could manage to say. She turned her attention back to Baer, cocking her head to the side and noting to herself how he reminded her a lot of a cat the way he cleaned himself, raising one hand she reached up and scratched behind her ear... Perhaps he was raised by Miqo'te? She found herself thinking, though she dared not ask and look the fool. She blinked a few times, hoping he had not caught her staring and shifted her gaze once more to the carbuncle, softly she made a few chittering noises, her tongue clicking against her cheek as she tried to get its' attention. She held her hand out, to try and entice the creature closer.
  6. Kieaira was glad that the conversation had shifted to someone else, and she was free to bask in her own silence, watching as the Elezen and Miqo'te chattered on about different kinds of magic, which got her mind thinking about her own abilities ... a welcome change from worrying about some made up plot about being followed. Her eyes drifted to the small carbuncle with curiosity, she had seen them from afar, following their Masters around and doing their bidding, but never one up close. "It must take a fair bit of training to be able to summon one..." She said aloud without realizing it.
  7. I'm rather interested in this, would love to get involved ICly somehow.
  8. Kieaira looks down at her hands in her lap, ears wilting once more as she hoped someone else would butt in and answer the question the other Keeper had asked. She reached up with one hand to scratch behind her ear, and let out a very soft sigh. Family... Her nose wrinkles at her thoughts. I am starting to think this male was sent her on some mission to force me into returning home... She let out another soft sigh, hoping it would go unheard over the louder sounds of the tavern. Shows up out of nowhere, gets my nerves all out of whack, preventing me from acting normal ... and then asks such frustrating questions... I don't belong here. Maybe the others will get to talking and I can silently slip out unnoticed. Slowly she lifted her head to see what the others were doing, hoping the Miqo'te male would be distracted as well.
  9. Kieaira raised her brow, giving Aartur a look that said What are you crazy or something? She looked back down at the table once again, trying to figure out a way to respond that wouldn't sound like an insult, or make her look silly herself. "Where's your sister now?" She finally said, in that soft tone that made it hard for others to hear over the hustle and bustle of the tavern... not her usual place for conversation, but she had heard it was a good place to make connections. Kieairas eyes darted around the Inn, surveying those that passed by and sat and talked at other tables, none of them paying any attention to the small group of adventurers that had gathered around her.
  10. Impressed? Why would he be impressed? What did I do? Is he following me? ... Calm down Kieaira, you're mind is running away with wild theories again. Now stop it. Smile and say thank you. Kieaira gives a very small smile towards Aartur and nods her head as she says "Thank you." Though her voice was barely above a whisper, and her cheeks flushed a rosey pink once more. She places her hands back in her lap and looks towards Baer once more. "I think I have the shut-in thing down already..." She swallowed hard, she didn't really like to talk about herself, but she wanted to make friends, and so she forced herself to continue. "That's why I'm here... trying ... not ... to be ... that ... anymore." She furrowed her brow. Are you even making sense any more? This is why you just shouldn't say anything at all.
  11. Kieaira's ears twitch with each crack of the mans' knuckles, and she sunk down in the chair a bit more, she contemplated ordering another mug of cream, but she really didn't want to drop anything else today, so she simply went without. "I've never seen -you- either." She remarked softly, not really looking at Aartur. She moved a finger to start following the wood patterns of the table, keeping herself busy so she wouldn't have to look at anyone. Why are these people so nosey? What does it matter why I came here ... I'm here aren't I? Her lower lip stuck out slightly and she looked like she was pouting, though her soft words didn't reflect the way she was feeling. "Everything." She stated matter-o-factly. "I came to learn everything." Suddenly she wished she had brought her book down from the room she had rented upon her arrival, then she could bury herself in her notes and no one would have paid even the slightest bit of attention to her... but it was no use wishing and thinking what if. Kieaira sat up a bit, but kept her gaze on the table, her slender index finger continuing to follow the patterns.
  12. Kieaira peered at Aartur, trying to figure him out, though her mind was often contradicting itself. He's from Gridania... Did he follow me? No, of course not stupid, you've never seen him before... or have you? She shook the thoughts from her head, finally praying her pale blue eyes away from the Miqo'te and back towards Baer. "I'm from Gridania as well..." She glanced at the Keeper to see his reaction, and then quickly glanced back at Baer, trying to find the words to explain exactly why she had come to Ul'dah ... but she just did not feel comfortable revealing any secrets to these strangers. "I... uh... I came to learn." She finally blurted out. It was true... maybe not the whole truth, but it was what they were getting from her, at least for now.
  13. Yay for kitties! Here is my big fat baby Butters!
  14. Kieaira's eyes went wide as she looked down at her feet where the mug had fallen only to find the other Keeper literally a breath away. She let out a squeak as he bonked his head, and found herself scrambling into her chair at the back of the table, her ears wilted as she looked for something to hide behind, silently scolding herself as she did so. Stop being so silly... He's obviously no threat, and all your doing is drawing more unwanted attention to yourself. "S-sorry..." She mumbled softly, forcing herself to look away from Aartur and towards the man whom had introduced himself as Baer, though his manners could use some work she seemed more comfortable speaking with him and Ryan than she did just being near Aartur. "Kie.... Kieaira." She said softly, hoping the red of her cheeks would fade away quickly.
  15. Kieairas face turned a bright red from behind the mug, quite embarrassed by the Hyurs' statement. She shook her head and felt the mug slip from her hand, falling to the floor with a crash that made her jump once more, a small amount of cream dribbling across the floor towards Aartur. "S-sorry..." She said, feeling even more embarrassed, her ears drooping, wishing she could disappear. I am such a klutz... Oh I should just go back home... She thought, a look of doubt crossing her features, how she hated being so awkward.
  16. Kieaira held the cup up to her lips and slowly turned her head to look at the other Keeper as he was kicked by the Lalafell, she was pretending to be drinking, but really she was just trying to hide behind the mug. The sound of snorts drew her attention back to the Hyur male, whom seemed to have invited himself to the table, not that she cared one way or another, she assumed Ryan or Elisan would invite the others to join at some point anyways. She blinked a few times, still hiding the lower half of her face behind the mug, and once more shifted her pale blue eyes to the Miqo'te and his Lalafell companion. "I don't yell..." she said softly, though it would be muffled by the mug and come out more like. "Eh on't eiell"
  17. Kieaira let out a soft "meep" as her gaze was averted from the Keeper and up to the man whom seemed intent on assuring she was alright. She met his gaze for but a brief moment before looking back down to her hands and giving a small nod. "Yes... I'm fine." She said loud enough for him to hear. She took another sip from her cup, closing her eyes as the liquid ran down her throat. Each sip calming her nerves a little bit more.
  18. Kieaira's ears sunk down as she realized she was being talked about, and she shifted away from the pole, retreating into a seat at the back of the table, a bit further from all the commotion. "I'm fine..." She said softly in a tone that even a mouse would have trouble hearing. She closed her eyes and clasped her hands together in front of her, much like one would when they were praying. Go away, Go away, Go away. She chanted over and over in her head, before finally talking herself into taking a deep breath to calm her nerves ... though it didn't work very well. She opened her eyes and looked towards the table. Drink ... Drink ... Throughout the commotion no one had seemed to notice the server girl whom had delivered drinks and a bit of food to the table. Kieaira reached out with a trembling hand to grasp around the small cup of cream ... a comfort food so to speak. She held the cup near her mouth, and sipped from it quietly, quietly thinking how she should have asked for it to be warmed, but none the less the rich taste and thick texture caused a small smile to form upon her lips. She lowered the cup, but kept it in her hands as she looked to that group, gazing over each one before her eyes once more landed upon the other Keeper, watching him suspiciously.
  19. Kieaira fiddled with her fingers as she tried to think of how to respond to Ryan without sounding dull, shifting in her seat as she peered around the Tavern, her eyes landing on the male Miqo'te and she froze. Her heart began pounding in her chest, and to any that were paying attention a look of anxiety would cross her eyes. As he backed away from the Highlander and right into their table, she let out a startled cry and jumped from her chair, once more backing into the pole nearby. She swallowed hard as she stared at the Keeper, and though a small sigh of relief would escape her lips, she still felt on edge. He's a Keeper, don't worry. She told herself, though her stance would remain defensive. Her lips pursed together tightly, and her slight fear could be easily misinterpreted as anger towards the other Keeper.

  21. I'd be interested in RPing with you some time. I generally spend mornings focused on leveling ... and reserve evenings for RPing (I'm EST btw) My character's name is Kieaira Nightsong - She's a bit timid when meeting new people, but looking to make friends, and hear their stories. She's a bookworm and ICly she's a scholar (though I'm leveling up White Mage first) Anyways, let me know if you're up for some RP at some point. ^-^
  22. Kieaira found herself drifting off into daydreams as the man spoke of Limsa, and she made a mental note to visit their sometime. She came back into the conversation with a shake of her head, the twin ponytails swaying slightly. "Oh ... No ... Not Ul'dah." She said, playing with her hands in her lap as she sat. "I came here from Gridania." She smiled, speaking with a slight hint of longing for her cozy little home in the forest. "I left home to learn." She said softly, followed by a soft chuckle, a flush to her cheeks and a slender finger moved to push her glasses up her nose once more, as she looked to the other two.
  23. "Oh ... Umm ... K-Kieaira." She said with a smile, not offering any other information as she tried to flag down the server once more, so they could order drinks. She reached to a pouch that hung from her belt, and pulled forth a few gil as she moved to sit down at the table, nearly missing the chair, she stumbled just a bit, but managed to sit down , wrapping her tail around her as she did so. She glanced between the Elezen woman and the Hyur male whom had introduced himself, and smiled, relaxing a bit into the chair, she was starting to feel a little less timid, but her guard was still up, as if waiting for some sort of unseen entity to jump out and grab her. Finally the server came by to accept the gil and take each of their orders. "Cream please..." She said softly.
  24. She slowly lowered her hands and breathed a sigh of relief, once more she adjusted the thin framed glasses, pushing them up her nose as she offered both the Elezen woman, and the Hyur male a small apologetic smile. She had always been somewhat timid, but since leaving her home she had become even more skiddish. "No .. No .." She waved her hands back and forth. "It's my fault..." She bowed her head towards them both, as she contemplated making a hasty exit, so as to not embarrass herself any further... However she decided against it. "Please, let me make it up to you both... hrm ... drinks? I promise not to spill them." She rubbed her hands together nervously.
  25. The Miqo'te girl smiled again at the woman, though it was brief as a male voice came from behind, startling her as she literally jumped in the air, causing the plate of pastries to slip from her hand and land on the floor with a loud clatter. "Oh no! I'm so sorry!" She said quickly, looking over the Elezen woman, hoping none had gotten on her. The server who had given the pastries to her quickly came over with a broom, and shooed the young Miqo'te girl out of the way, blushing and hiding her face in her hands from embarrassment. As the mess was being cleaned up, she pressed her back against the pole she had backed into after being shooed and prayed that she would just dissolve right in and that no one would notice her. Though her curiosity was gnawing at her, she opened her eyes and peeked out past splayed fingers to peer at the male whom had spoken and caused her such a fright. Please don't be a Miqo'te .... Please don't be a Miqo'te... She chanted in her head as she looked in his direction, also hoping he would not be looking at her, but perhaps helping the Elezen woman or the server. ((OOC - Hope it's alright that I assumed your character came up after she had already gotten up))
