  1. Wow guys, all these responses are great! I didn't expect to get such thorough information, but it's extremely helpful! Thanks so much! As for the character, at the moment, I think she's more small-time. One person and a chocobo or one person and a wagon. No human trafficking, that's about where she draws the line, and nothing to do with that trade, either. I think I like the idea of her being a gunrunner or a weapon smuggler, mainly, but dabbling in other things when the opportunity arises. I'd love to get involved with an FC, but my schedule usually puts me on later than a lot of FCs are active.
  2. Oh hey, what are your normal playtimes? So I know when to shoot you a message or a friend request
  3. Well good! She's.... usually... a bit less tmeper-prone around other women. It's... it's unlikely that anyone will get punched? Uh...
  4. Welcome! It's always good to see a new face! My character is Eunoia Anbolho, a merchant that's usually lurking around Pearl Lane in Ul'dah. If you see me on, hit me up! Though be warned, Euny can be a bit prickly at time.
  5. So. Suppose someone was planning to make a smuggler sort of character, someone who gets things that should not be in the cities or should be monitored... into the cities, unmonitored. I was wondering, what sort of goods might be at a... premium, so to speak. Gunrunning is obviously an option, but are there items of contraband? Eorzean drugs, for instance? Or anything else that would be regulated or outright outlawed in certain places? Also,do the Guilds act as governing bodies for their particular product(s) or export(s)? IE would trees downed by a non-Botanist Guild-affiliated person be a no-no? Or perhaps smugglers might just be useful in avoiding tarifs or fees imposed by the cities or guilds. I apologise if this topic has been covered elsewhere, if it has, please point me in the right direction.
  6. Right now, Eunoia's overarching theme is Expression. Namely, in figuring out how to express herself at all. Euny's very rough and tumble, a bit gritty, a little violent. She has a lot of difficulty in speaking for herself, especially regarding emotions, and so instead of airing her thoughts and feelings, she gets frustrated and lets them out via punches or shouting or just sulking or avoiding the subject altogether. She doesn't have her temper just because she has a temper, the main source of her temper is a lack of other ways to express herself or let things out. Likewise, she has recently moved to Ul'dah, a fresh start. She has a number of interests that she could feasibly follow, now, any number of niches are hers to occupy, it comes down to who she meets, and what she chooses, what fits her best, how she can best express herself. In the end, Eunoia is a Miqo'te whose inner identity is different from her outward one. Much of what the character struggles with based upon that dichotomy, struggling to make that inward identity outward (and failing).
  7. Mysterious and indistinct individual of mysterious and indistinct gender
  8. Hey, just thought I'd bump this really quick to note that I have her wiki up! It's still barebones, and subject to change, but it's at least... existing!
  9. Wow, both those characters sound interesting, and (possibly) good fits! My work keeps me from being online until late night (about 10 Central) but I'm up until the wee hours, generally. I'll stay on the lookout for you! Euny continues to haunt Pearl Lane rather than the tavern, but if you wanna meet, she can have a reason to go wherever!
  10. Hey, My lil' Eunoia Anbolho is usually around Ul'dah. She's a merchant, primarily, but as it happens, she wants to get into Aetherial studies, herself! She can be a bit rough and prickly, though, fair warning. I'm still getting her wiki up >.
  11. Great! Euny's looking for ways to set her roots in Ul'dah. Business contacts help that, and... well, she doesn't shy away from less reputable business as long as it's not just morally irredeemable. That'd be great!
  12. Hello, all! I used to play FFXIV, like, a year... ago... maybe... It's been awhile. Loved the RP, but had to unsub. But now I'm back, with a new character, in Ul'dah! Unfortunately... I'm a bit of a slow reader and I'm prone to overstimulation, so... yeah, the tavern doesn't work so well for me. Thus the need for RP connections. A bit about the character: Name: Eunoia Anbolho Race: Miqo'te (Keeper) Homeland: Limsa Lominsa Profession: Merchant, leatherworker, and amateur woodcarver. Personality: Eunoia is... Well, normally, she's genial, a bit rambunctious, but can be a bit gruff and prickly when upset or put out of her comfort zone. She's got a temper on her, and her time in Limsa made her perhaps a bit too fond of throwing punches. She does have a sentimental side, but she tends to hide it at all costs, to the point of making an ass of herself. Anything smacking of sentimentality will probably come indirectly, offhandedly, or followed by an idle threat. Heart's in the right place, though. Probably. Usually. What She's Looking For: Business Contacts, be it fellow merchants, clients, suppliers, or the like. Less-than-legal Contacts, information brokers, smugglers, et cetera. Scholarly Contacts, specifically those dealing with the theory behind magical writing, inscriptions, and staves/wands/etc. What I'm Looking For: All of the above, plus friends, rivals, and the like for her! She can be... well, prickly, but she's energetic and not outright mean, so... she's bound to get along with some people. NOT Looking For: FCs (she's ICly independent right now), ERP (if it happens, that's fine, but I'd rather that not be the intention overall), Shipping/Romance Plots (Euny's Aro, she can get affectionate with people she's on friendly terms with, but she just doesn't feel romance), Violent Plots (I am quite squeamish, I can't do it. Plus Euny's just starting out, it's a little early to delve into stuff that heavy) Euny can usually be found inside Ul'dah, her most recent haunt has been Pearl Lane. Lemme know if you have any questions! And thanks! Hopefully, I'll see you all in-game!
  13. Hey, I saw this thread and thought I'd say that My character, Eunoia Anbolho, has recently set up shop in Ul'dah. She's a merchant that mainly deals with leatherwork and carpentry (mainly wands and staves, etc), and she's looking for contacts in and around Ul'dah- not necessarily legal ones. She's especially needy for pelts and such, as her shipments from Gridania keep getting delayed. She's a Keeper from Limsa, so she's no stranger to pirates of various sorts. Personality-wise, Euny is a firecracker. Not quite a hair trigger, but high-strung, when in the wrong mood. Expect to be threatened with being "knocked on your arse". She's not so good with dealing with gushy stuff, romantic or otherwise, and would rather look like a complete and utter ass than to admit to an ounce of sentimentality... So sometimes she yells at people even when she's touched by something. Lastly, and most importantly: She smol I'm working on her wiki, but I don't have one up yet, in the meantime, here she is:
  14. Thanks, all! Glad to be here, I'm already enjoying myself
