1. Andralyn stared at her for a long moment, her tongue moving over her teeth behind pursed lips. How much to say.. what to say. Should she? Her mind raced, she was not cut from this cloth. Dealing with folks like Zhavi... she was in way over her head and this was just a runner. Damn him... She had to ask. She ignored her question, "And if trouble finds you? If you end up on the wrong end of a spade in all your digging? Will you break Clove's word and turn on me to save your hide? Start digging on me to slip from a noose? What happens if you get cornered," she grinned almost proudly, "and they will corner you if you're not as good as Clove boasted... I need to know you're sincere in working for me, for your boy. In seeing that we..that he comes out of this unscathed."
2. Elle... Tabart She seemed to mull over the name, her brow pulling together in thought. Luther. Shit. Shit, shit. Sea swallow it all! Her face remained calm and unmoved as she listened. More than just rude talking. Oh yes.. much more. Damn it all...I should have know he'd come back. Zhavi continued and Andralyn's head canted as her stance shifted. A lass? I wonder... She took the sheaf as it was handed to her. Anger flooded over her as she gripped the paper, flipping through it. "Maioh... " Her jaw set, glaring down at paper. "Dogberry?" She nodded, "Set us up. We'll have a word with him." A hand moved to her ear and paused, looking at Zhavi. "You planning on continuing to dig?" Cut her loose. Damn him and that stupid idea. She moved her hand from her ear, tucking the paper into the crook of her arm, "Are you planning to continue your digging?"
3. A another smelly hole. She should have known. She shouldn't have even bothered asking. Andralyn grumbled as she moved through the streets, her hair tucked back under a rather bland hooded tunic. Just another street urchin, ragged and poor. She hated this part of the city. She'd done her time, put in her dues she was above the dank odor of these salty, fishy walls and --- She ducked into the room, eyeing her appointment, her hands tucked into the pockets of her tunic, a look of boredom on her face. "What's the news, Zhavi?"
4. Next first response aide training: Sunday June 1 @ 2PM (CST)
5. Take care Ruru! No worries, hun things happen! If there is anything that I can do, let me know; even if it's just an ear! Real life > a game, always.
6. A notice has been posted: Due to an unforeseen circumstance, Chirurgeon Rysen's battlefield medic course will be postponed until the new moon. I greatly apologize for this inconvenience. Private instruction can be scheduled through the alchemist's guild. -Daphine Rysen ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Daphine's world has kiiiinda blown up at the moment so she's a bit unavailable, but still around. Hopefully she'll be able to get somethings together and have another class in the next week or so. Doodle!
7. Andralyn's hand moved to her ear as she watched Limsa in the distance from her perch. "Good girl," the grin curling on her face could most certainly be heard in her tone. "Where we meet depends largely on you, love. Do you need to tuck me away in some dank smelly hole in the wall or can I enjoy the breezy view of the Bismark without someone attempting to kill one or both of us? We'll be making port at Limsa by nightfall, just let me know where I'm going."
8. I can definitely appreciate the overwhelming feeling one can encounter when coming to this site/community for the first time! I think I just lurked around forever before really dipping my toe into the water. I'm glad I did, though, as I've met some great folks around here and have really had my RP itch scratched! Welcome back to the game, if you need anything don't be afraid to call out! There's a bunch of friendly helpful folks around here!
9. Thanks to those that participated in the medic training! Daphine's player is a bit scatter brained so I hope it wasn't too jumpy! I had fun trying to field all the questions! I'll be sure to get the next one scheduled soon!
10. Little reminder about the First aid class being held at 8pm (CST) tonight.
11. Andralyn smirked and extended a hand, a small pearl pinched between two fingers in a delicate offer, "You read my mind." She turned to leave, a hand moving to her ear in gesture, "You contact me immediately if you hear word of anything pertinent. I hope our next meeting is on your contact and I pray you can offer a name." The smirk danced into amusement, even she wasn't sure if her words would be meant as a plea or a threat.
12. Andralyn’s mind wandered as the woman spoke, her accent wearing on her ear. Two groups. Pictures, faces, names, places. Her mind was aflutter with activity as she listened to the words spoken at her. Why? More importantly who? The Coeurl house. No. Their clientele was completely separate from hers she was certain. They targeted a very niche market; there was no need to come after her. Who... One moon cycle… maybe one and a half. Her time away hadn’t been that long. Not nearly long enough for her foothold among the houses to falter so terribly. This had to have been a long time coming. Farris. Her jaw set slightly as the name came to her. A longtime rival of her mother’s, the man had been livid when Andralyn was finally able to wrangle the writ from his hands after her mother’s death. She shook her head, her attention turning back to Zhavi as she straightened, hoping the action didn’t look too foolish given the topic at hand. No….That man had tuco-shit for brains and lacked the gall needed to attempt anything like this. “Cut off yer work across La Noscea…” Andralyn’s attention was back on the miqo’te, her eyes narrowed. She was already dipping into her own pockets to cover the next week of business. Ruthless. The corners of her mouth twitched. Ruthless, hm? The twitched danced against her lips as she fought to keep the stoic face, ultimately losing as her mouth curled into a toothy almost malicious grin. Ruthless was the game. It sure had been a while since that mirror was pulled out of her book, but she’d be willing to knock the dust off today. She grinned for a long moment at Zhavi, a more familiar air coming over her as she shifted her stance, into casual serenity. “My business will continue to run as it has,” her voice was confident and willful. “My momentary lapse in judgment may have them thinking I’m an easy target, let them think it. I’ll continue to suffer the fools if it’s only to draw them to their deathbeds.” “I will stay my hand and not indulge in a ‘siege’ as you say. Continue to do your digging; I’ll continue to play my part. How long do you need?”
13. In before Askier's sentence involves penitence and punishment by way of him physically "apologizing" to every citizen he endangered. Bwaha- *ahem* Sorry I blacked out for a moment what were we discussing? In all seriousness I'm so happy to have all the interest in this crazy little plot! WTB more companions, pleeease!
14. I just have to pop in here and tell you how much I adore your art style. I can't get over how organic it feels and how much movement you incorporate into your lines! Brilliant!
15. We could always use a few bruisers.... on either side of this story! If Zhavi hasnt contacted you already, I could definitely see use for a character like this once the plot pushes that way!
16. We have opened up our IC company pearl to include others outside the company that would have involvement with Captain Vance's crew or Lady Grace's "matchmaking " services!
17. Andralyn watched her as she spoke, her jaw clenching and releasing as each set of words passed through her lips. Nothing. She's got absolutely nothing. Gods take me why did I agree to this. A turncoat, in my ranks? Preposterous! Her hand itched to raise, to slap the miqo'te into a submissive silence and she balled her fist, her nails biting into her palm. "Why'd ye call fer me? Still early. Fer th'hits?" "Early? You planned to unearth names and secrets in two suns time?" Her gaze moved to the street and she shifted her stance, releasing her hands from their tension filled posture. "It's not quite as early as you think, my dear." Her hand moved from the cloak, waving off the subject, "At any rate, yes. I called on you because of the hits. I wanted to know why I wasn't given word and what you knew...and it's now quite obvious you know little more than I did, all of it still highly unhelpful. The thought of it being anyone in house is more than unlikely it's absurd. My house is family, moreover they're happy. Happy families don't wander about looking to kill their kin." She moved her gaze back to the small woman, "You've no more word on a proprietor to this house of Cards?" She motioned to her own brand on the inside of her wrist, "The one so eager to play a malicious game?"
18. There were two things that Andralyn didn't tolerate: One, people insinuating that she was unaware of how the world works; that she was somehow oblivious to the innermost workings of the profession that she was quite literally born into and two, the idea that her employees were ill-trained, inexperienced and to be classified with the skags and gutter rats that lurk in the shadows with their legs splayed wide waiting for whatever pathetic seaslug will toss them a coin or morsel. Her jaw set with the chiding. That was the exact message she'd been sending. She was scared. Weak. Ill-prepared. She knew she deserved the scolding, the same one Mialyre had offered days before. "Yeah, I'll get right on that," she watched Zhavi, her tired eyes gaining a small spark of irritation, her posture shifting as her shoulders came back up. She followed the girl's gaze carefully and gave a short nod, "Aye, he's mine." She folded her arms around the cloak, turning her attention back to Zhavi, a small glare pulling her brow together, "You heard of the hits, then? Hazard pay wasn't enough t' get you onta Clove's pearl and shout out a warning? What else am I on edge t' hear?"
19. Could I ask which time zone? I actually had to edit that just as I posted it. >.< First Aid course will be held at the scholar's walk in Ul'dah Saturday, May 17th at 8PM (CST).
20. As things kinda squished my plans, our first First Aid course will be held at the scholar's walk in Ul'dah Saturday, May 17th at 8PM (CST). I don't plan for this first class to go more than two hours. I know one of the sign ups for that time was a maybe, but I hope with the notice it'll be able to turn into a yes. I hope to see you there!
21. About damned time... Andralyn's hand went to the objects as if they were her own, shrugging on the cloak and wrapping up her hair, taking care to ensure each burgundy fly away was tucked safely away. She got up and walked after the miqo'te casually, adjusting the cloak around her as she cursed the rain under her breath. A wave of impending doom where ever that one walks... Her stride granted her little trouble catching the wake of Zhavi's path and she fought the urge to stop her dead in her tracks and demand answers immediately. Instead she remained quiet. Skulking around her home like some stranger scavenging to survive was an unfamiliar feeling. This town was hers; completely at home in the upper decks with the big spenders and barons, a welcome addition to any tavern or merchant’s stall and she was able to walk among the gutters with little trouble from the locals. A little coin and a smile could have gotten her just about anywhere. And now, the reputation that took years to build seemed to be crumbling around her so quickly that she couldn't pull the trail together to point in any semblance of a direction. She didn't like it. Her head never felt so heavy as she walked, doing her best to keep her gaze forward and not search the shadows for the next rat to lunge for her or to ensure that Jonathan was indeed keeping a careful eye on her path from a safe distance behind. A new game. New rules. Get it together,Thatcher.
22. I am so very excited to see others join into this RP with us! As Zhavi mentioned, if you're looking join on as a companion, send me a tell and we can work you into Andralyn's ring! Our free company has an IC linkshell that I am opening to anyone that would work for Andralyn, the ship under Captain Vance (though really we would prefer crewmen to be in the company as our ship RP is tied to another LS) , or potentially be considered a VIP client. There is no need to join the Free Company (though we'd love to have you on board with us for the other end of our RP! /end plug). I do hope this sparks some interest!
23. Andralyn. She had called her Andralyn. Even after years of prodding to drop the ‘Grace’ title, Sedalyne hadn’t called her Andralyn. Something was wrong. “I n-need you.” The slightly accented voice was soft, almost weak. Something was very wrong. She sat, staring at Mialyre, her eyes wide as she moved a hand back to her pearl. “Sedalyne? What is it? What’s wrong?” Mialyre’s gaze locked with Andralyn’s as they waited for the familiar voice to elaborate. “Lady Grace, “ Andralyn’s brows pulled together as the male’s voice. Winters? “I happened to be in Costa del Sol while waiting for an assignment from you. Good thing, too. Seems another hit had been placed, this time on Sedalyne. I got the worm tied up here, squirming and crying. Sedalyne’s been cut, but she seems otherwise fine. I would like to know what you’d like me to do with the man. I can slit his throat here and now, or turn him over to ‘proper’ authorities.” Her heart stopped and she jumped to her feet, “Kill him. I’m on my way!” Vesper. That’s a two day trip! Hells consume me! She scrambled for a moment before Mialyre grabbed her arm, pulling a crystal from around her neck and offering a calming glance, “Calm down.” Andralyn nodded, taking a deep breath to compose before moving a hand to her ear, “Clove! Get your streetrunner! We need to have a meeting!” Her foot shook under the table, the night before running through her head again. Her foot shook harder, her knee bumping against the underside of the table occasionally as it rested on her other. She looked tired. Her typically tamed mane of hair was pulled back into a loose, messy gathering at the base of her neck, day old makeup smeared around her eyes; this was not Lady Sophia Grace. This was a woman that was in unfamiliar territory, that was second guessing every decision she had made. “Until further notice, consider your appointments postponed,” she had informed over their pearl. “I will speak with each of your clients and I assure you that compensation will still be earned.” The look Mialyre had given her made her turn away as they set outside the tent, letting Sedalyne gather herself and her things. “Are you certain, Andy? You were so worried about keeping up appear—“ She shook her head, “Of course I’m not, Mialyre!” She sighed heavily, her fingers pulling through her hair and resting atop her head, her eyes desperate as she looked back at her longtime friend, “Of course I’m not! I don’t know what else to do. It’s never been like this! The houses have never come at me like this! Ever since the Aegis I.. I’m losing it, you know I am. I cannot put them in harm’s way. I can’t. I won’t.” She activated the pearl again, her voice pleading, “I beg of you, each of you, do not put yourself in harm’s way. Stay off the street, do not take jobs.. at the very least only use our most trusted clients. I am still trying to hire protection. I will let you know more as soon as I do.” Her arms folded across her stomach, resting in her lap as she set back in the chair and pulled herself from the repeating evening. Her gaze moved over the scarcely populated tavern. The Wench, like much of the city didn’t operate this early, but early was when it had to be. She needed information now; time would only allow more rats to crawl from the woodwork and she was tired of being reactive. She eyed the man that sat across the pub, chatting up the only server behind the counter with a roguish grin. Winters. She shook her head, looking back toward one of the entrances. The man was a mercenary and the sum she had parted with to keep her head and the heads of her company from his list was steep, but so far it had proven a worthy investment. Sedalyne was safe thanks to him. She moved her gaze to another entrance. The ship was in capable hands in Mialyre’s absence. Osric had volunteered to look after the companions in Ul’dah, alleviating that worry at least for now and Mialyre was with Sedalyne, Once more, she waited. For now everything was calm, but years at sea had taught her that was usually a bad omen. (I can't format this on my phone so I'll have to go back and edit it later.)
