  1. So cute! It's perfect! So much.... D'aaaaaaaaw!
  2. I think if you look through the forum RP you'll find quite a few in character journals or simply stories that others have shared about their characters' antics and lives. They may be able to help with formatting or even ideas. I used to journal Daphine's patient notes and clinic books as if she were leaving notes for the next doctor on shift just a a prompt for myself and to develop her voice a bit more in my head. It is certainly acceptable to pull events and situations from an RP into game for your character. It's the same world, the forums just allow a little more creative ease to scenes or NPC use; the timing is also much slower paced usually which some people enjoy. As to the rating I'm not sure I can answer that. I'd like to think that as long as you weren't writing Fifty Shades of Grey... Gray?.. whatever, it'd be fine. Related: If you're looking to RP in game or in a forum I'd be more than happy and willing to help you get your feet wet. Don't be scared and don't feel inferior or intimidated this should be fun!
  3. I think it's about time for another round of booze and bets! Who's with me? If you'd like to offer your company house for our antics in La Noscea, let me know! Want to provide entertainment? Bartend? Have a game of your own in mind? Toss me a PM! Details to come soon!
  4. Welcome to Balmung and the RPC! I'm sure you'll have no trouble finding RP despite the chaotic schedule. Hope to see you in game!
  5. (If it's preferred that this sort of things isn't shared here, I'll happily remove/ be fine with an admin taking this down.) As some of you know (and more don't since it really doesn't pertain to things in-game!), my husband and I teach in a special education classroom (middle school). I love my job! I love my students and I love the challenges that I have to work through and the on-my-toes problems solving that I have to do daily in order to help my students be as successful as possible. What I don't like is how much funding we don't have. Our district is great! However, just like most other schools, we lack a lot of the funds we need for materials outside of the 'teach in the box', 'pass the test' supplies. This is where you can help! I've set up a Donor's Choose fundraising page to get donations to support our class as we try to build up our sensory supplies for the large influx of new students we got this year, all of which had way more need for these items than we've ever had to use in the past and as such we've been left a little wanting. You can find that page here. While I would love for you all do donate to our project, generally, I would just like each of you to take a look around the site and perhaps look out for a school in your local area that could be in need of a little extra funding from a donor. It really means the world to us when people reach out and help with a few dollars here and there. Anything to save us dipping into our own pockets again, at least for this list of supplies. :dazed: Learn more about Donor's Choose here. Thanks for taking a moment to look this over! ((PS: Donating to our class will get you an awesome handmade thank you card... Well.. so will the other classes.... but.. ours will be more awesome... Just saying. PPS (cause I didn't realize this): If you donate through DC over $50 you'll get the card.. but if you let me know you donated anything at all in a PM and you want a card, you shall get a card! PPPS: If you use the code INSPIRE when donating by September 6th, your donations will be matched dollar for dollar up to $100 per donation!))
  6. I loved MRP and GHI in WoW. Creating interactive quests for players and sending them on missions to be rewarded with stashes and such. GHI was my go to for creating items used in RP. I miss actually having a bag of medical supplies for my doctor to tote around and use on people that also had the addon. Buff and debuffs... *reminiscent sigh* One day... one day...
  7. No worries! We'll all be here ready to dip Kink into a vat of RidFlea when she returns. Let me know if you need anything in the mean time!
  8. This was a lot of fun! Thanks to everyone that turned up throughout the evening!
  9. We just wrapped up our long running company plot in time for the 1 year anniversary! What's in store for us next? Here's to many more adventures and craziness!
  10. PATH would most certainly aide in the protection and freeing of slaves! A ship load of refugees to Limsa? From Limsa? And while Teryn was freed... I'd be happy to work her more in to the rehab you're doing for others!
  11. I hope Melodia is there for a little bit.
  12. Welcome to Balmung! *obligitory gift bag, confetti* As Nebbs said, use the linkshells list here to wander through a list of active free companies and linkshells. Some people find browsing through the directories and character wikis useful too! Don't be afraid to ask questions or put yourself out there, we're a fairly friendly bunch here and are eager to help. Hope to see you around. I can always use more Lalas in my life. :bouncy:
  13. I, personally, am of the mind that holding events like this (in a housing district) does not encourage cliquish, exclusive behaviors. I've personally had great experiences joining in on group RP that has been removed from a city and put into a housing area. I've met an eclectic bunch of players/characters from many different companies and have made connections that will help further my own stories. The quicksand can become super crowded. One can -easily- get lost in a sea of text as a group next to your own RPs. Some people like that, hell I do it all the time in the Wench, on the other hand, others tend to shy away from it and prefer to go to a less populated, but just as accommodating an area, like a personal house. many have just as much ability to become crowded Quicksand taverns ... but at least we have the option of new scenery. The city states are large. Why wouldn't they have more than a couple of taverns to crawl through? Personal lots make this a viable reality. I think most people know what to expect when they do a tavern RP. They don't find it monotonous or trite they find it is an exciting opportunity to make connections and further the reach of their characters. New players wandering through the towns will find RP. It would be nice to see more RP outside the cities and I know many people, myself included, that stay in character while moving from hub to hub. In my experience, though, people (even if their search info calls out for RP) who are out to level and are traversing from quest to quest are wanting to do just that. They're not interested in stopping for a random chat at that moment. Outside of FCs and LSs I'm not certain what type of RP is expected to be found in the world that is more than "tavern style" without a little legwork on the part of the searcher. Everyone has their own time and place. Eventually the connection will be made, I think.
  14. Andralyn is the only one with any sort of story to one of her weapons. Daphine and Rhysa just bought or created their own. Andralyn has a dagger, it's simple, bought with money and holds no sentimental value, just something to use when in need. She also has on her at all times a pair of brass knuckles that have been cast and treated to hold a tint of pink. She's wrapped them in lace to 'disguise' the fact that they are weapons and merely look like ornaments on her belt. This gift was given to her by her 'father' and it's something that she treasures dearly.
  15. * is miqo'te in the middle of covert operation* "Alright guys we get one shot at this. Keep silent and move quickly! Let's bring those hostages home!" *waving hand signals: two guards, stay quiet, move sl--hoarking sound-- glares -- more hoarking noises--guards alerted!* "Attack!" *Mission failed. Hostages dead. Hairball at your feet. Bad kitty.*
  16. This was a -lot- of fun and there was so much RP to be had! New people, new connections! I want to personally thank Night Blades for the use of their house and for offering up a sexy bartender and wonderful waitress! For all of you that braved roll20 to play cards, thank you! It was a lot of fun trying to keep up with the bets and all the chat! I hope to make this a monthly thing and perhaps move back and forth from Limsa to Thanalan. We'll see! :bouncy:
  17. Balmung and Gilgamesh are certainly the places to be if you're looking to RP. I'm only on Balmung so it's all I can really speak for, but you'll likely have the best chance of creating a character really late at night or super early in the morning. I've had luck anywhere from 11pm-9am (central) with character creation. Good luck! I hope to see you around! And welcome to the RPC!
  18. Welcome to Balmung and to roleplaying! I hope you have a great time! The community is very friendly and I'm sure you'll have no trouble finding a spot to settle in. As to your character idea, sure, why not? Start with an idea and let it evolve as you get to know your character through play! Hope to see you around!
