  1. And then get mad at schools for doing a good job of it (or not) NO ONE EVER WINS And thus the circle is complete.
  2. Certainly still around, still finding the numbers to fill out a group so that we can start things on a schedule!
  3. New members, new events! Fun, fun, fun! Currently working to upgrade into a larger house! Busy, busy, busy! Still recruiting more awesome people!
  4. She's easy to obsess about. *eyebrow waggle*
  5. Hi! Welcome to the RPC, long winded one! Words words words... Uuuuh.. Oh! No of course clothes don't matter... Just let the reflect your character's style or job.. Or whatever! "Playing Barbie" is one of my favorite parts about RP! Lots of clothes for lots of reasons. I hope you enjoy your stay here. There are lots of super friendly and helpful people around these forums so don't be afraid to speak up if you have a question!
  6. Andralyn shook the paper's corner to straighten the page. She lifted the small ceramic mug to her lips as she enjoyed the bitter smell if this morning's brew. "A familiar enough name..." she mused, finishing the advertisement. She turned the page and took a drink. Good for her... always nice to see businesses expanding into new territory. She smirked and sat back to enjoy the sun rising over the plateau through her window. I do hope she has a decent bit of muscle on site. Booze and whores are always a messy pairing...
  7. Hi there and welcome back! I hope you find that balance you're looking for. Teh burnout is certainly real! >.< Good luck in your search! If you see one of my toons walking around don't be afraid to throw some RP my way.
  8. Hey guys! So, this little social experiment has been great fun! I've gotten a lot of interesting RP an met a ton of great characters. I've also been pushed to initiate more random walk up RP with more players than I can count while looking for matches which has been highly entertaining at some points! Alas, all things must come to an end and "Grace" is deciding to retire and let "Andralyn" try her hand at adventuring again. (Plus work is going to be hell this semester and I'm not going to have the little time I did before to search for matches and do interviews >.< ) Everyone on my list that has responded to my mails and such has been matched at least once. I still have one or two that I am going to continue to work. I hope you all enjoyed the RP and found a few new RP partners or connections for future use! Continue to poke at Andy when you see her, maybe she'll buy you a drink!
  9. I think you may have just gotten some bad luck in regards to walk up RP. I've personally had similar experiences in the Quicksand and just assume it's too busy and people go AFK there a LOT. It's likely got little to nothing to do with the fact you're under max level...unless the people you're approaching just have some super strange issues. Keep trying! As someone who has a majority of their RP as 'walk up', AFKs are going to happen. Play off the 'snub' when you're ignored and move on to the next person. Don't let it get you down! I will make it a point to hunt you down and have Andy pester you! Edits cause iPads suck... Screw you autocorrect.
  10. I play Daphine as a card carrying member of the alchemists', thaumaturges' and adventurer's guilds. While she has worked and study with the botanists in the past she couldn't justify the guild dues when she was rarely in Gridania to take advantage of the perks.
  11. A fellow schemer! I look forward to future plots and events with you! You seem quite creative and motivated.
  12. I will get better at hair this year.. I will get better at hair this year... I will ah.. meh. Fist of the new year! Four hours. Yay insomnia! My Rhysa as her sweet, innocent barmaid self: Lennon
  13. Welcome back indeed. Good luck getting back into the swing of things! Don't forget about the linkshell hall in your search!
  14. Welcome to the RPC! I know nothing about your server and the RP populous there. Balmung and Gilgamesh have been my only RP ventures so far, but good luck none-the-less! Warren. Calm down. You'll break them!
  15. Welcome to the RPC! I can't really speak toward anything on Gilgamesh, since I'm on Balmung, but maybe we could get one of those elusive Gilgarpers to sound off? Looking through the linkshell hall at the companies there might be a good place to start! Good luck in your search!

    New...ish.

A late hello, but hello none the less! Balmung is the bee's knees! I wish you luck in finding your FC (*obligatory plug*). If you haven't already, take a look at the company postings here. If you spot any of the characters below running around hit me up for some RP! PS: What's your character name?
  17. The Sword of Truth series by Terry Goodkind is a favorite of mine (thanks to my husband for introducing me to it!). Confessors, Wizards, Mord-Sith, and ordinary people being extraordinary. What more can you ask for? The writing is brilliant and while I normally don't enjoy overly verbose authors, Goodkind has a way of weaving this brilliant picture that you can't help but get pulled into. His characters are extremely well developed and grow perfectly with each hardship and quest they face. Oh! and nothing he writes is simply to fill words on a page or to give you a break from the main story. Everything has a purpose. A small detail from an early book can come back to be the answer they're looking for in one of the last. It's a story of a man that refuses to sacrifice his values and conform to bad people in powerful places. It's a story of others understanding what it means to be free and that freedom is worth sacrificing for. It's a love story. The story starts out dim, fades to dark, dips into hellish yet all the while you have this hope being pumped through the story through the main characters that pulls you through and keeps you going right along with them no matter what happens. Did I mention well developed characters? And the magic in these books. We all know wizards. Magic, pew-pew laser beams. Goodkind sticks to the familiarity of 'high fantasy' but in the same turn expounds upon it in such phenomenal and creative ways. Also.. Moth** F**king Mord-Sith. My favorite 'bad guy' ever. Edit: Do NOT watch the TV series they made about this book series. It's AWFUL. (When compared to the book series... if watched as a stand alone.. meh. I liken it to Xena or Hercules minus a lot of the levity.)
  18. It was rare that she received mail anymore; more rare that it was address to her by name. The small package was light enough to toss about and the rustling inside promised some treasure inside waiting to be found. She looked it over a few times as if waiting for it to bite before opening it and taking the note from the top. “Dearest friend, Blah blah Starlight… blah blah gemstone..” Ooh. Shiny… The paper fell to the table haphazardly and she pulled the palm-sized crimson gemstone from the box and turned it in her hand. Her thumb moved over the symbol carved within it with a curious gaze. A fox. Rhysa smiled, turning the glassy stone in her fingers before tucking it into a pocket and leaving the innroom in a hurry. She found him at the Westshore pier, gaze seriously poised on the waters in front of him as she crept to jab him in the side, “You look busy…” His lack of movement let her know she was not as stealthy as she wished she was and she deflated slightly, “Just enjoying the view.” She bounced on her toes a moment, “So! What’d you get?” Kedi'ra's brow lofted high as he looked to her, “What’d I get who?” She pulled the gem from her pocket, tossing it to him, “For Starlight. You didn’t get a gift?” She shrugged, “I just got it in the mail this afternoon.” He turned the gem over questioningly, his brow furrowing deeply during inspection, “I have no idea what you’re talking about, but congratulations on the shiny rock.” She frowned catching it as he tossed it back and began to follow after him back towards the city, “Ah.. I think it’s pretty.” A smile grew into a taunting grin as she tucked it away again, “Mm. Perhaps I have a secret admirer…” “Good luck to them. They obviously don’t know you.” Her ears pinned back, “You’re so rude…
  19. We've had a couple of wonderful additions to our ranks recently! Big plans for the new year! Let's see what those bells ring in! Recruitment is still open, we'd love to have you!
  20. I think I could definitely find a use for this with Rhysa. I've been trying to find ways to work her into things. This little trouble maker needs some friends... or at least some scapegoats.
  21. Your pieces have a lot of emotion in them. I love the movement of your lines. Look forward to seeing more!
  22. Congratulations on defeating the first boss! Character Creation Restrictions! Ul'dah is very much a crowded place, the Quicksand specifically. Lots of RP to be found and lost in. If you look for it, though, you're bound to find RP anywhere. I, personally, stroll Limsa daily. You'll find RP in FCs and LSs also. Take a look at some of them here, if you're interested. I suggest digging through some of the lore gathered in the wikis out there, if you're in need of questions answered, or just posting specific questions here. Lots of folks enjoy being able to share their knowledge with new comers. Welcome! I hope you enjoy your stay!
  23. Balmung is definitely a popular server! Legacy servers were where all 1.0 characters relocated. NA- It's a North American server. Character creation opens and closes in waves so just keep trying. Many players have had luck in the early mornings, usually on weekdays. Seems to me it's been opened a bit in the after noon/evening here lately. Just keep trying!
  24. Aw! Sounds like my niece, she'll be 4 in February. I love playing with her, that age is so fun.
  25. I got to spend a few hours with my adorable niece singing Frozen songs and teaching her colors in ASL with Candyland. It was a lot of fun. Oh! I also got some fuzzy socks and a vacuum!
