1. Yep, this. It's a big world, and there's lots of reasons why a miqo'te's name will, or will not, match the "normal" naming conventions. You just need to make sure you have an explanation for it, as it'll probably come up in conversation. Likewise, it's good if your IC justification also carries some narrative benefits -- that is, it should do something to expound on your character and open up avenues for additional RP. Continuing on this thought, a miqo'te raised by hyur will likely be very different from other miqo'te, as they wouldn't have been exposed to their traditional tribal culture (or even the echoes of it that city-dwelling miqo'te might have). So, you should ask yourself, how does your character feel about other miqo'te? What about other hyur? Is there any "stranger in a strange land" alienation? Your concept gives you a lot of options to come up with a unique background, so you should take advantage of it. Thanks for all the replies and feedback guys! You helped a lot! And Indeed I was thinking the same thing about a Miqo'te raised by Hyur's being very different, I in fact really wanted to play on that fact, the fact he would most likely find Tribal and Traditional Miqo'te customs so odd and foreign, since a lot of my friends are playing as very tribal and traditional Miqo'te I feel this will somewhat help me feel like I'm not just playing the same thing and ought to make for some interesting interactions! http://fandango.exp.jp/name-generator.php In the future, this may help.
2. a "Kneel" would be great. a "sleep" would be nice, though "doze" is handy. But you don't even lie down, we dont have any lying down emote.. Chairs/Benches? The Hobo RP is strong with me. We can sit, but not lay down on them. Its a little bit silly, really.
3. Very striking colouring, good use of the cel-style shading.
4. a "Kneel" would be great. a "sleep" would be nice, though "doze" is handy. But you don't even lie down, we dont have any lying down emote..
5. We thought it might be the length, since splitting the message worked, but yours is much shorter, so length may not be it. But since splitting the text worked, it's probably not words, either, unless I got lucky and split the message in the right spot (I split it after the period before "I'm sorry(...)"). One solution we thought of was to use something that I used to in IM RP - follow the end of any post with ((done)), or whatever your equivalent of OOC is, so that if there isn't a post before it, we'll know it was skipped. If you're doing open world RP with strangers it may be a little trickier, though you can always party up to say done in party while this isn't solved. I'll confirm it in the official forums, too. Also had this happen, we had to take all the RP to party; in fact it got so bad we couldn't see anyone's /s or /em's at all. Only linkshell chat worked in the end.
6. I will truely be happy when they announce a /liedown or /sleep emote. That keeps you laying down. Or a looping dance,Kneel emote that keeps you kneeled down.
7. Hey guys. If you've been watching the RP threads I've been posting there already; thought I might as well get onto doing an introductory thread. Hey, I'm a New Zealander who plays a Miqo'te seeker male on the Balmung server; His name is Naih'ir and well,I like to think he is a gentleman. I look forward to meeting you all in game. I have rped in another game before but my experience was less than satisfactory; I hope this is much better.I am going to be running and posting up My LS above - so feel free to join if interested. It will be targeted at refugees from the calamity and have a small attached Keeper clan. :chocobo: ROAR! Naih~
8. Lalafell "The Lalafell are a race from the seas south of Eorzeain Final Fantasy XIV. The race consists of the Plainsfolk, which live in thatched-roof homes and have great hearing, and the Dunesfolk who live in the desert and herd animals." OOC Comments: Hey guys, it is me again making another forum directory. I am not doing this for any other reason but to make a quick and accessible post on the RP seeking forums for those looking for same-race rp partners. Sometimes the Wiki can be out of date and hard to navigate, not only that but their time zones are not often listed. I have no ulterior motives but to improve the rp situation for all peoples. If you're interested in rping with lalafell please look beneath! Thank you. Naih'ir Molkov. 10. ELEZEN The Elezen are a race from Eorzea in Final Fantasy XIV. They are the race that has lived in Eorzea the longest and co-exist peacefully with the other races. Among the Elezen, the Forester tribe live in the forest but also adapt to urban life, and are excellent archersdue to their keen eyesight. The Shader Elezen, also known as the Duskwights, live in caves and see the Foresters as traitors. Shaders have excellent hearing and are skilled in hand-to-hand combat, and many act as thieves. Elezen names bear striking resemblance to French names note: I am making this thread on need of a friend who cannot post. I'm here to ask a few of the elezen community to answer these few questions: 1. Would you be interested in joining a Elezen Rper directory? If so, post: Elezen Name: Elezen clan: Gender: Timezone: Looking for?: Post a link to wiki if you have one beneath. 2. Does your character fit the 'common' lore of your elezen or are they singular? (Eg. Raised by hyur so does not understand X or Y = singular) 3. What are your Rp limits, if any? (Eg: no permadeath, no ERp etc) Wildwood Elezen For hundreds of years the Wildwood Elezen have lived in the safety of Eorzea's lush forests. They possess an incredibly keen sense of sight — a contributing factor in their unparalleled expertise as archers. With the formation of the realm’s governments, many Wildwood ventured forth from the forests, drawn either to the exhilarating cosmopolitanism of the urban centers or the simple nomadism of the plains. 11. That sounds very interesting. We could be related distantly or our clans originally were nearby each other? Heya, Im not meaning to be picky but your keeper has a seekers name, was he raised by seekers or somthing. It could just of been a small mistake, But I am also curious! Definately, please contact me on game or in skype. <3 Awesome, I will send you a friendship request in game!
12. Aaah, thats cool! Contact me in game then, i'm online now
13. I live in GMT+13, so usually my times match up with well everyone, except Britain sadly. If not starting a small clan, i'll probably work on a small 'Link shell' for Keepers who have lost their homes due to the calamity. Yep, makes sense. Only thing I'm wondering is when do you usually play? Because I'm in EU time zones so I might not ever get in contact with you in game outside the weekends. If that's the case, it's probably not worth forging a connection if we only get to play rarely. as for this, I get usually 3-4 days a week where I am able to stay up late and am available throughout the day. I am sure we could work something out. ---- However I think it would be useful if you added me to skype so we can contact each other with ease.
14. What are you looking for, then? Rinh has family but not any ties to player characters. From what I understand, a few families would live in the same area and form a clan, so do you want to link families that way? In a sense yes, or begin to start a new clan if possible? does that make any sense?
15. That was not the issue I was trying to address, I am trying to address the issue of people who pick names and roleplay names for their Miqo'te or other such races and then name them: Mikiko Akarui or such things. This would just be a small incorrect issue on their side, right?
16. So, I had a discussion with a friend today when learning that their Miqo'te had a japanese name. They told me their Miqo'te was found as a child and given a Hyur name; are there Hyur and other races that have acceptable non-naming convention names? Eg. FFXIV Wiki says that Highlanders use Anglo Saxon, Celtic, and Briton naming conventions; is it likely there would be non Highlander humans who use Korean, Chinese or Japanese names? If so, are there any NPC's or such that can be used as a lore reference?
17. nNR-wsFAfiU This song is perfect for Neih'ir.
18. ....is he too good for us??!! What does this mean, Michi?! TwT ;-; No bro I... I mean. I mean he is.. very kind hearted and probably a little odd for even a Miqo'te with his emotional connection to things. Contemplates a lot of things.
19. Ah! Not that at all, I mean. Populationwise, there would be few males in a tribe compared to females. I didn't mean it in a creepy way. ;-; I'm a Girl IRL so it's.. a little weir to play such a submissive male style character? However thanks for the heads up - seems every Keeper female I have met however is 'not attached' to any tribe due to backstory issues, such as: Was raised in city by exiled mother - etc etc...
20. Sadly for me, I have decided to role a male Moon Keeper Miqo'te, despite my RL boyfriend wanting me to Rp a female. Finding love on a Male Keeper? Well, this is going to be interesting. I am open to anyone interested however. Naih is very calm and understanding. He has a strong level of tolerance though does not thrive well around too many other males. He is a little too sentimental to be with a Seeker attitude I think. However, I agree, ERP is nothing to be ashamed of - unless you;re spending more time Erping than actually going out to roleplay with others.
21. Really looking for females, however.. It would Lore-wise make more sense for Female Keepers to stick together. *not meaning to sound creepy at all*
22. Hello, I'm fairly new to the game and read up on my lore and such and I decided to roll a Male Miqo'te of the Moon Keepers group. However.. to my well, disappointment. I am unable to find well - any other moon keeper roleplayers. I have found multiple 'Tia' and 'Nunh' roleplayers and females of Sun Seekers but only one Moon Keeper. :frustrated: I am looking to establish maybe a small group of dedicated Moon Keeper role players to join my one - lonely male. His name is: Nainh'ir Molkot You can contact me on skype: Myrinialock --- On a note: Yes I do understand Moon Keepers are Matriarchal, I'm looking for a few people to work a small clan with me 3-7 people at most.
