"Who's to say I would accept you as a student?" He says as he popped both of his eyebrows. "There are entrance exams you must partake in." Tone obviously playful as he leaned back on his hands. Sparing a glance at everyone a moment. Before focusing in on the Huntress once more. "And yes, it will be interesting." Rubbing the back of his neck slowly now with one hand as to loosen up the sore muscles. "Do you have any problem with beaches and sun?" He asks offhandedly.

The red haired man just stayed quiet for a bit as the Midlander spoke about how he didin't use his hands either. Chuckling gently. "Yeah, sometimes fists don't quite get the message across as well as some other things might." Voice still playful as he yawned a bit. Making his jaw crack a little. Eyes shifting over the newcomer and narrowing gently in the darkness, barely able to see due to the flickering firelight of a nearby lantern-but recognizing someone whom he had seen fight before. Someone who had frequented some of the same circuits as himself. Never having caught his name, he just gave a nod of his head to the newcomer. "Evenin'!" He said in response to the Elezen on approach. Then turned his attention back onto the Huntress who asked him that question-after it having been clarified. Watching as the flute was tossed to her. Waiting several seconds before he responded. "Well, I am looking to teach someone at some point. Getting old is not helping my fight's, and I want my family's knowledge passed down to someone. Lacking kid's, can't really leave the burden on them." Then waits a moment. "I might just teach someone if their truly willing to learn." And nods his head gently. Making the silver pieces in his hair jingle once more. "A fighter doesn't need perfect grace to win, nor strength. Misconceptions. Skill. Applied skill with a sharp mind can win any battle." Then chuckles. "But being fast and strong is always a good plus to have on your side." Head turning gently to regard the newcomer Elezen woman who had addressed them. Nodding his head to her in turn as well. "Evenin'!" Voice bright and bouncy like it usually was. Slightly tinted with a bit of tiredness though, and cracked rather minorly due to his earlier escapades. ((OOC:Sorry about the slow reply guy's, been on injury recov. will be trying to be more active with posts from here on out.))

I love playing a goodguy in badguy's clothing. (Much akin to a Sheep in wolves clothing) This is how I have been able to move within the gray zone where I can do good things, and strive to do the best for others-but confuse the baddies in question that I have submerged myself with. It's not an Anti-Hero. (I.E. Batman.) It's not a Fallen Angel Trope. But like a undercover cop. That's more of how I have to play my characters when being a good guy. Makes it so I don't step on toes to hard (For those who are like "DON MESS MAI RP AUP!") and allows me to do good behind the scenes. Alter RP through slight pushes and nudges in the right direction. And it also is fun to completely ruin a badguy orginizations plans from the inside. Can't help it. And it has lead to some extremely AWESOME Rp for everyone involved.

*Sigh* Lol. Have fun at Balmung! Goodluck and all that!

That's a great point and a good use for those internal monologue emotes, I think. As long as it's done tastefully and carefully with no expectation of an IC response, I can see how that could add to a scene from an OOC standpoint. Thank's Wizzy, I try hard to make everyones experiences good. So what does it take to get invited to your RP Elite country club? Yanno, cause I want to make sure I'm 'in line' with all the 'right people':lol: Or maybe you just borrowed 'Ye Olde Roleplayers Rulebook' from the OP. Different styles should be encouraged. This isn't a fucking raiding strat, formulated and homogenized. Just because someone doesn't live up to your imaginary code doesn't mean they're a bad RPer. It makes them different. And maybe they DO need to work on their trade...but don't we all? And isn't one of the best way to improve something doing it repeatedly with a good cross section of test subjects? The best way to create a griefer is to treat our own like shit. Oh you, Kat. I love you. Now for the rest of y'all. Try and take it easy on the snipes back and forth about servers. This thread has just gotten too far out of hand. Both sides have good RP'ers and bad RP'ers, lets agree on that. And let it go already.

"Oh I don't mind a woman being above me-but I would prefer us to be on the same plane; as my neck doesn't feel all that good right now." He said playfully as she dropped down to the ground. Raising a brow slowly as she peered about. Then nodded with her words towards the Hyur whom was playing earlier. "She's right. They would prefer the sound of their catastrophically out of sync voices over harmony. Pretty sure that when Sailors get in a fight-they just belch their way to victory. Not a single punch thrown."

Baer was also enraptured by the woman's reading of the cards. Looking quite enamored. Focused on the woman rather then the cards to be honest. He had run into many a thief, swindler and conniving gypsy-but never someone like this. It was a refresher. A breath of fresh air rather. That same smile was still on his face as he turned his head to Aartur. "You got some good luck my friend." Is all he said. Little more cryptic then he wanted, but was still jovial in tone. Maybe he was being honest-that Aartur had gotten some of the 'better' cards of the deck-or has fate on his side truthfully. Turning his head to Elisan and Kie now as Eli spoke up about someone volunteering. Eyes falling on Kie. "You should get your's done. May not get another chance in the future." Chuckling again softly.

Isn't this just common sense? Well... there's a variety of points of view on this, I've found. Personally, I don't emote anything about my character's internal state unless it would be obvious to an onlooker from her actual actions ("L'yhta's tail rises, peeking out from behind her shoulder in interest"); I prefer to show, not tell, as much as possible. Since my character's not a mind-reader, like DAISHI, I also don't respond to people's emotes of internal state unless, again, it'd be obvious to my not especially socially perceptive character. Throwing out thoughts and beliefs that characters aren't privy to doesn't really help RP very much, IMO, because they can't be responded to ICly without metagaming. It can come off as needless emote showboating or even trollish if your inner monologue is disparaging of another character, as they can't respond to it ICly and just have to "take it." If you need to let a person in on what's going on with your character to help with RP, an OOC tell is probably the better way to do it as there's no question of etiquette at that point. I can understand this point of view, but it can be used for more then needless "Showboating", or inner monologue to insult someones character. To be honest, I use internal thoughts/feelings/emotes as a means to get people to laugh OOCly, not as a means for them to work off of-but to lighten the mood of things. Since I am usually involved with a lot of "Dark" or "Grim" RP in the past, it's part of who I am as a writer and RP'er to add in things that would offset the perpetual negativity that can swirl into an endless black pool and lead to people being rather unhappy (Which has occured more then once). Otherwise I don't let people in on my characters thoughts, I explain emotions or facial expressions. Now I can understand someones frustration (player A) if the person in question (player B) is using aforementioned "Bad" way's of internal dialogue/thoughts. That I can understand. Still it's common sense to be respectful of the other player to RP where they can be apart-rather then watching someone else write a small book for them to look over.

Which he was easily distracted to say the least. Piping up easily like he did beforehand. "Oh it was quite good! Filling. And being without food for a day and a half makes me appreciate it a bit more. You never know what you truthfully appreciate till you lack it!" Voice bright like usual. "Which reminds me, I have to make sure to not waste all my money on gambling before a fight comes along." Snicker-snorting. Literally focusing that comment on himself. Turning his head to regard Elisan and Aartur for a moment. Little enraptured by the idea of an actual fortune telling-as he had never had one done for him; nor run into anyone doing it about Limsa, or Ul'dah before. After several seconds he returned his gaze onto Kie and the Carbuncle. Almost sounds like a book. 'Kie and the Carbuncle', slap some trademarks on that and sell it. "And it also might help if I wasn't such a fool." He remarks after several moments. "Doubt that will change though." Laughing gently once more.

One of the few things was that Baer was in a contemplative and observant mood-which lead to him noticing the nearby 'Lander who approached the bar. (Whom is Vareli) Then the fact that the other 'Lander had left their table. Not sure when, just like the Lalafell. Assuming it happened while he was trapped within his own thoughts. Turning his head just within the small frame of time where Kie had looked over into nowhere and become rather...fearful looking? The crimson haired man had no clue, but he wasn't one to not ask in a situation like this. "Is everything okay?" Voice kind like before, but a bit of concern in his voice.

The large man did notice the Miqo'te paying attention to him for a moment until the focus was redrawn somewhere else. Mainly towards Aartur, his Carbuncle and Elisan. At this point he zoned out. Going into his own little world for awhile. Mind wandering back and forth between past and present as he let the food he just consumed digest a bit. Closing his eyes to breath in the new day and let out the old; an old tradition for him. What may or may not have bothered him the day before is now gone-and everything else is new. Alive. Beautiful! At this point a large smile was the only thing they could see on his face. Making him look beyond youthful, could say juvenile! Opening his bright blue eyes to look at them all in turn. Which now Kie had begun to pet and play with Aarturs Carbuncle, while Aartur kept a going conversation with Elisan. The strange sooth-sayer'esque woman. And someone was missing...that Lalafell! I guess he left...Didin't even get to say goodbye! Oh well. He thought quietly to himself as he leaned back in his chair. Spending some time looking around the bar at this point as he was not going to jump into Aarturs and Elisans conversation-and Kie needed a break in his mind from being asked questions. Since she came off even more skittish then a cornered jackrabbit. Tilting his head to the side as he peered about the excessively populated bar slowly.

"Well, he is right now being mended back to health. Since he couldn't walk out of the ring." Voice bright and cheery as he sat down on the ground still. "I may have come in third-as I lost my bout in the semi-finals; certainly was fun though." Chuckling softly now. "Though it is quite funny that everyone remembers me for my monetary loses." A snort would be all that came after his sentence. Looking back at the huntress slowly, he finally deigned to answer her. "Yep, your a gargoyle. And no, your not scary-just make me want to tackle you to the ground. So you and I are on the same level." Then raised a single finger. "Your smelling senses are duly noted for their extreme perception. And especially welcome, because my money sprouted legs earlier it seem's. Monetary loses. Again."

Werlkurm to Kilgurmursh! (Translation: Welcome to Gilgamesh!) Always nice to see new faces. If you ever feel like RP'ing, hit me up in game and add me as a friend. Character name is Baer Reddicta.

"That is unusual." He agreed. Turning to follow the sound of the flute. Standing up slowly from his kneeling position at his bag. Not answering the woman's questions right away. Just listening calmly as he stood there. Looking back at the woman above him. Then back onto the Midlander not far off, playing music with his flute. Even though it was counter intuitive to sit after just standing, he did so anyway. Plopping down on the ground to relax his sore body.

Baer just sat quietly eating at this point. Slowly munching on his food, much unlike how his ravenous self was earlier. Listening to the conversations ups and downs. How Kie literally spoke her mind earlier about the Carbuncle that Aartur had. The mention of Eli's 'Fortune Telling' profession while travelling. Overall he was just a receptacle for information as he sat there. Taking it all in in turn. Breathing in and out slowly as he continued to feast-until there was nothing left. Bringing his attention onto his drink which was little than half fun-downing it quickly before setting it back down on the table. Nothing seemed to come out of the Red-haired man. Maybe he didin't have much to say about magic? Maybe he was just a quiet soul when getting to know people? Probably not the last bit, highchance it was the former. Taking to using the wraps he had been working off earlier as a sort of napkin as he wiped away bits of food from his face, then to wipe away some of the dried blood along his neck, face and head. All one could say right now about him is that he looked extremely observant as he preened himself. Looking brighter and happier over time as he got cleaner.

Oh we did. All of us. Lol. Still don't expect anything from it.

This is a good idea! Baer Reddicta, located at Costa Del Sol's beaches, at the temporary Ambrosia bar! Get a drink, schmooze about and pass out! -
