My reaction would have been to get a bucket of ice cold water. That would have been meaner. And make a cheesy one liner: "CHILL OUT!" *Throws ice-water on them*

I got a lot of people to annoy on Balmung. My character name there is the same as on Gilgamesh. ALL YOU PEOPLE ARE MAKING ME SPLIT MAH PRECIOUS TYME! *Flails arms*

Well, first off. Welcome to the game, and to the RPC. Secondly, welcome to RP in general! We can always use new people. And it's fun to have fresh blood. See new ideas and thoughts, and play styles! If you have any questions-a lot of people are really open to giving answers here; so feel free to ask away! And maybe even join in on some of the Forum RP here!

*Throws another welcome into the reply box* Welcome to the madhouse. You shall have a fun time here, I know it. *Sooth-sayer-waving-hands-gesture*

Hello person I do not know. Welcome to the party. We're all high...

AAGGGH. So many on Balmung! Anyway, welcome to the menagerie of monster multiplication mashpit!

Sounds like an interesting character concept to play with! Imagine the moment someone figures out she was originally a guy. Probably would freak out some characters ICly. And welcome to the community!

The large red-haired Highlander sighed as he walked from stall to stall in the market place-though one could probably confuse almost all of Ul'dah as a marketplace. Atleast he could. Breathing out a deep sigh from his lips as he stood from his crouching position near the base of the last vendor he bothered with checking. He had hoped that the fact of the merchant carrying some commonplace liqueurs would lead to him finding the specific one he was hunting for. But lo! Luck had not be with him this day. Twisting himself back into the pathway of the crowd which had been milling about, forming into them like a fish does to water. Moving through the crowd with a steady tread, careful not to brush or knock against anyone. Only wishing to find what he was looking for-though that would not come to be. As a distinct voice reached the man's ears. Turning to the Miqo'te not far from where he stood within the group of people. Stopping his progress amongst them to look at her over some of the consumers. Not sure if her words were directed to any one being or himself. Quirking a single crimson brow as he pointed at his barrel chest, clothed in a dark brown tunic. Wondering if her gesture and words were aimed at him or another. Maybe there was someone else whom stopped like he did at her pitch? Maybe there was someone whom she directed this all towards? Baer had no clue.

Another good read by you, Eross.

WOO! I can share music now! The closest I can put to Baer's theme. Working on trying to mix something up uniquely for him. May update this one I have finished. Till then, enjoy Jasper Byrne. ~~~Copy pasted from a different thread, just so it doesn't get smushed. Since I didin't know this was here. *Facepalm*~~~

Well it appears that I did not look back far enough. Well, sorry for the double thread then everyone. Though I suppose it wouldn't hurt to keep this up a bit for the other new peoples to see and post on. If requested I will ask a mod to remove. Darrrh. I will repost on that one then. Lol.

Okay, I take it some of us here like going to Comic/Anime/Game conventions, and I couldn't find any thread dedicated to sharing stories and pictures from them. So I decided to make one! I recently got back from the Baltimore Convention with one of my friends, and got some pictures of some pretty cool costumes. There wasn't as many as MegaCon in Orlando had, but their certainly was quite a few. Trying to find another Con to go to in the next few week's, but here's some of the pictures from the Con!

I have no clue who you are-but have a good trip! Glad things are looking up for you!

Welcome to you as well! Noticed you posted in a earlier forum-either way, welcome! You should be able to find quite a few people to play with on Balmung. Since a vast majority of RP'ers are on there. I will be joining as well soon enough, though when not needed on Gilgamesh.

Welcome to the madhouse! :moogle: Sadly, your on Ball-mug. But it's all cool. Were you PS or TC on GW2? Maybe I RP'd with you at some point.

To be honest with you-I would have hated to be in that chatroom on WoW. Even though I wouldn't be on there in the first place; it would be a horrifying experience to have all conversations revolving around romance. It sound's like they got a bit obsessive over it. >_> Extremely obsessive.

Caring too much, I think, becomes a problem. When you start to feel involved in their IC drama or OOC drama, it becomes difficult to maintain a friendship and remain unbiased and not allow things to affect your RP. The borders and communication before hand poses a little bit of an issue for me. Using Ronberku's method as an example-- many people want things to develop slowly over time. I do too! I'll be honest. If someone tells me OOCly before we RP that they want a romantic relationship with my character ONLY if I'll be their girlfriend... I'm... probably... going to... avoid that. I mean, it's hypocritical for me to say it but I know that it won't end well. Similarly, I like to know before hand, if it's possible, whether or not the person RPing a character that my toon might be interested in (even if there's just a sliiiiim hope) isn't going to be crazy and angry and verbally abusive OOC later. I'd like to just let it go as it goes but I hate retconning and sometimes it's just inevitable when relationships ICly go awry. You make another good point. Can't really argue against it, (Since I love playing devil's advocate) as I have felt first hand what happens when things become "Too Close" and the person's OOC/IC Drama begins to ruin your actual daily life, or RP, or anything involving them. Or those involved in the situation. And yeah, it's bordering on creepy when someone say's: "Can I be your boyfriend/girlfriend" as a pre-req to Romance in RP. Maybe in certain circumstances, such as knowing that person for year's and such-mayyyyyyyybe. Really big maaaayyyyyyyybeeeee.

Wow. Atleast your not in Brantford. And D'awwwh. Atleast you guy's can go on nature walks if your that far out? What do you take me for, some kind of person who goes outside?! We walk around our property a good bit but there's not too much unclaimed or fenced forest out here. We went down to the river but that was about it. I'm a pretty boring mom. Your playing video games-How is that a boring Mom? Well, I'm a bit biased. I'm a gamer as well. Overall though...Sunlight is good for you! *Holds up sign "Go Outside Now, Better Graphics"* Ahhh. So you don't really have a lot of places to visit. You try sometime to get out and do some stuff. There is lots of hidden gem's in your area. Hell, I think their is a festival coming up soon. When my little man is more than a year old maybe he'll begin to appreciate my gaming... instead of slamming his hands on the keyboard and eating all my posts! Did you know there are no respawns in RL?! Also, as I post in this thread it starts to rain again. You've cursed me. I'll have to look into it. I haven't done anything out here really since the county fair when I was in middle school. Y U No Get Out?! Lol, just playing. I curse people often. It just started here as well at my work, so I am happy. I enjoy the water/rain a lot. SO. HAHHAHAHAHAHAHAH! *Flails about*

A very good point you have pointed out, Sio. *Yoda voice* Though on your last part: Caring about people-not the RP characters-but the actual people behind them is not a negative thing. Making friend's outside JUST the game is not an issue-but when you blur the line between being friends and MORE then that due to the RP in question is where things get more dicey. As you said, set border's, communicate. Etc.etc.

I read through quite a bit of this thread-and also the links. Overall some good discussion going on here and some good information brought to light. I must say-Thank you to the OP, those are very good informational's you handed out. Will be useful to anyone who was a little on the new side or iffy. Also explains a lot in good detail. Now, let me give some quick rundown's on things from my past ERP/RRP experience: 1: Romance doesn't need to involve ERP. It can be just like any movie/story out there-love doesn't have to always cross over into sexual things. 2: The creep's are usually very easy to spot. Some are not. Just be cautious with whom you have said RP with. 3: If anything-and I mean ANYTHING-ever makes you uncomfortable; make it known and work it out with the party in hand. You should never feel forced into anything. And if you do, back out. Something is wrong.
