  3. Yep, 100% this. The one thing that's put me off tanking is the "tank is god" mentality. You're expected to know the most efficient path through the dungeon, the tactics for every boss, spot a pat a mile away, hold aggro over dps who're targeting the wrong mob, bake a cherry pie whilst standing on your head, etc. It's a hell of a lot of responsibility to pile onto one role. It wouldn't be quite so bad if you were allowed to make mistakes as you learn but more often than not you get slammed in the face by a rage train. If people want more tanks and shorter queues, they should work together as a team, share some of the responsibility and offer helpful tips to new or struggling tanks rather than shouting at them. If only I could add more quote's to this one reply-but lo-I CANNOT! I must agree wholeheartedly that I am in the same boat. Tank's are treated as such due to the fact that they are the literal HEART of the team. They are expected to do everything perfectly-and without flaw. It's just how gamer's minds are hardwired now it seem's. And when you have a new player taking on the role of Tank-you can see some spark's really fly at the newby. It offsettles and makes players less likely to take up the mantle and disheartens those whom would have truly enjoyed that class/position/role. Some people are just too uptight. Mistakes occur. Relax a bit and don't put on your sh*t kicker's too soon. Doesn't help that everyone expects everything from the Tank, and doesn't look at the DPS for doing something akin to a chicken lacking a head. Hell, even Vet-tanker's are prone to accident's and issues at times. So. Work together as a team. Relax. Help each other. WIN.
  4. Welcome to the game/group on here, Leen! To answer some of your questions: 1: The lore is rather simple and easy to pick up so far, I am new as well to it and have begun figuring it out. 2: It's a tab-target MMO at heart, with some variations. Some dodging occurs during combat as to avoid AoE/Cone attacks, and also position on enemies is important for some classes to maximize their effectiveness. The game boasts a rather fun "Fate" system akin to Rift's portals. Really indepth Gathering and Creation system. Classes wholly devoted to just THAT altogether. So you could say it does compare, and is rather polished! I only have some minor disputes with the Chat UI 3: Unique features. Hmmmmm. The crafting systems I can fall back on-as it's like having an entirely different game to play when equipped for Botany/Mining. And for the crafting classes. Limit Break's in instances are awesome. Team Mechanics like that always have enthralled me. I enjoy the ease of leveling and the ability to mix several different classes skills together. And be able to switch classes at any time to just try something new without re-rolling. Can I also say "Pretty Skyboxes?" Combat does feel much more lively then the regular MMO. Only one which I would say is more active "Combat"-wise is TERA. The Levey system is also a lot of fun. 4: Yes it does offer quite a bit of PvE. And it's bound to increase the amount of it available to us in the near future. If you space out your PvE with RP, it should last you quite a long time. 5: Yes, it should be able to run quite well on Low Settings. Maybe even on Medium as well. If you can handle GW2 on low, then you can handle this easily enough. Well, atleast you -Should- be able to handle it with your box. Also, if you are on a budget-check out NewEgg when Black Friday rolls around. You can get some top-rated gear for your rig that way at low prices. Or even buy a really good one for 50-70% off when Black Friday get's here.

  8. At a Glance: Baer Blood red hair, darkened blue eyes. Weathered slightly-having some wrinkles around his eyes and mouth. Tall and very well built. Gives off an air of nearly inexhaustible joy. Any moment you see him-it's like he can't find any other facial expression to use other then a smile. Voice is deep and rather sonorous. Carries on the wind easily-and fills a room just as well. Usually is cloaked in dark clothing of earthen colors. Baggy and relaxed fit clothing is common. Does not carry a weapon of any kind. I. RP Style Amount of RP (light, medium, heavy): HEAVY: Super heavy. I am a very hardcore RP'er, I try to keep track of everything and engulf myself and others in a very immersive experience when possible. Views on RP combat and injuries: OH HELL YES! I enjoy combat RP by a large margin, and injuries are apart of that. I'm not one for power-gaming my characters in RP. Fine with Die-roll systems, or pre-planning the fight. I'm very open about anything involving RP, so always feel free to speak with me. Views on IC romance: I'm perfectly open to it. Baer (My main) is not taken and I'm surely up for a romantic relationship with him and a another character. Views on non-romantic RP (family ties, etc): Like the idea very much so. Baer comes from a large family, and it would be fun to have brothers or sisters! Just like the rest of this-I'm open minded to RP by a lot. Views on lore: I try to keep as close to the lore as possible-even though I have not learned everything yet. I plan to learn as much as I can. Views on chat functions (/say, /linkshell, etc): There is no preference, I'm fine with RP'ing/chatting in any function. Party, LS, Say. Any of them.
