That's...I don't know. I've never heard of that happening. Every time I got gold rank when Lightning showed I received 2 Parcels. Same for everyone who I worked with. The only time they didn't get anything is when they didn't qualify for a rating e.g. didn't kill anything. I'm stumped. :? Have you initiated the first quest of the event? It may be that you need to start that quest before the FATEs drop Parcels, but given that was not the case in past events, I'm probably horribly wrong.

You need to send me a friend invite. I would love rping scenes like that with you. :moogle:

You are welcome, sir! Stay tuned for further updates as the event continues. I've gone through some serious lag on the FATEs themselves because there's usually a hundred or so people at each site, standing, waiting, and I'm using a PC! Honestly, I just think it's because of how much shit is going on at once when the FATE kicks in! I had to deal with game crashes as well, but I still managed to get enough Parcels to get all the weapons. I'd suggest turning off effects from other users. Hell, turn off most of the display if you have to. I don't know for sure how much it'll help, but it's a start, I guess...

8j_KBbEIUak Nothing gets me as pumped for slaying hordes of creatures as much as this tune.

Thanks man. Updated.

Yes. Just grind the FATE I mentioned for parcels, and you can get all the weapons.

Lightning Event Guide for those of you who are a little confused!

As I discovered, the Lightning event can be a little confusing. So, here's a guide to help out.

Chapter 1 begins today! :cactuar:

I'm still using the book for my RP gear. It's hideous, but it's also exotic, and I figure why not have a bizarre looking Tome. It fits with the idea of Arcanists all having their own personal tomes.

Yes, the weapons will be around level 13. Like I said before...

I actually heard a rumor about FF1 character pets. As in having a little FF1-era Black Mage follow you around. If it's true, I WANT IT.

AND LO EVG CAME CRASHING DOWN FROM THE HEAVENS, HAMMER IN HAND, TO SMASH THE HOPES AND DREAMS OF TIERGAN. They can't be dyed, bro. Sorry.

How does the community treat the day/night cycles?
Dat Oni replied to Flickering Ember's topic in RP Discussion
My main, a Miqo'te called Edgar, is absolutely horrified by rain, thunder, and lightning, not necessarily in that order. Every time it rains, he will mention it, and sometimes, I'll even have him "jump" (that is to say, I'll use an emote) just as the thunder cracks. It gets laughs out of people. My alt, a Lalafell called Koporo Aporo, hates rain for an entirely different reason: "Me armor'll rust." -
For those of you interested, here's the lowdown on where the weapons came from in the FFXIII trilogy. Blazefire Saber: Obviously, Lightning's classic gunblade. Unlike traditional gunblades in the FF series, her's folds up from sword mode to actually transform into a gun. It is in gun mode that the weapon can be stored. Vega Knuckles: You would think this would be Snow's weapon, but Snow actually fights barehanded and beefs up his attack through emblems, which are symbols on the back of his coat. Vega is actually the name of one of Sazh's pair of pistols, and here they've been converted into...Gun-Horas? Here's hoping they actually shoot! L'Cie Bardiche: A bardiche constructed in the shape of the crystal pillar created by Ragnarok in the end of FFXIII, to hold up Cocoon and prevent its fall after the death of the Fal'Cie Orphan. Bladed Lance: Fang's signature hunting lance. In FFXIII, it split into a 3 sectioned sansetsukon. Aside from that, nothing too special about it, save how iconic the weapon is. Star Seeker: One of two weapons from FFXIII-2, this one belongs to Sera. In the game, it transformed between a bow and a sword, and was stored in Sword form (I think). I hope they repeat this in ARR, as the Relic weapon for the Bard folds up into a Harp when stored (please tell me I'm not the only person who noticed this). Binding Rod: Vanille's weapon, which was like some sort of hellish fishing rod. The forked ends would detach and dig into the enemy...It was pretty brutal. In ARR, it's a mere wand. Le sigh. Mog's Staff: Exactly what it says on the tin, kupo! :moogle: This belonged to the NPC Mog in FFXIII-2, who never actually participated in combat...Unless you count the fact that he actually transformed into Sera's Star Seeker. Regardless, this is the first time this staff has ever seen combat. Grimoire Wing: This is the stupidest thing I have ever seen. The concept is thus: They took Hope's boomerang (yes...a boomerang) from FFXIII, multiplied it, and slapped them all together and called the resulting monstrosity a BOOK. Yes, this is the Tome weapon for all you Summoners and Scholars. Aren't you special~

Yeah I REALLY want the Snow outfit but I'm sure it will result in this >< SO what I'm hoping is that once they debut a new event article of clothing I'll be able to don my coat and feel less clone-ish rofl >< Well, the weapons and clothing have really bad stats. It's pretty close to vanity items. Because of this, I think we'll see them about as often as we see people running around with the Warrior of Light Helm/Moogle Hat. I believe it'll be us roleplayers who get the most out of these items, as opposed to standard players.

Will do, command. Also, I MADE THE FRONT PAGE! WOO!

Tweedledee and Tweedledum.

Have you been to Ul'Dah, recently? There's a trio of female Miqo'te dancers there.

EDIT: Turns out this info has been added to the wiki, rendering this thread rather moot, that is, unless people don't use the wiki for some reason. I dunno. It won't let me delete the thread for some reason, so if a mod could come by and do so, that'd be great. I don't know if this has been added to our wiki, yet, but if it hasn't, it should. This helped so much with creating the tribal name of my Main, who is a Seeker/Keeper hybrid. Hope you find this interesting!

You should be proud! Your simple question gave birth to a brilliant conversation that has spanned several subjects that are at least within the same realm of your original post! That's quite an achievement! Heh. Maybe you're right. Thing is, the last RP-orientated forum I used to frequent had a strict policy against derailing threads, doubleposting, and necroing. I guess I just got used to the rules. We roleplayers can't be confined by such silly ideas like "staying on topic." I mean, geeze! This is now a funny gifs thread. Here, I'll start. ALL ABOARD THE BANDWAGON. Here's one I made.

I can't help but feel this thread has been horrifically derailed.

Welcome to Fantasy as a genre. Rule #1: The less coverage it gives, the more protection it confers.
