Don't worry about your English too much. If you need critique, many of us will be more than happy to give it to you.

Personally, I like Balmung more than Gilgamesh, but when you consider that the RPC community is great as a whole, I don't think you would be missing anything by joining Gilgamesh.

Floor 1 of the Crystal Tower. We've already gotten through the Labyrinth, I'm really intrigued by the developments in the story and I want to see where it's going with all of this.

How Does Your Character React To Physical Touch?
Dat Oni replied to Dat Oni's topic in Character Workshop
My god. Thank you, guys. Just. Thank you. I never thought I'd receive so much input from everyone. The openness of this community astounds me on so many levels; I honestly didn't think this topic would get the attention it has. I love you all~ -
Do something remotely interesting or look lonely enough, Ed will do the approaching. In other news. THIS BED. For goodness sake, at least take your shoes off first!!! You obviously underestimate the comfiness of this bed.

If the mount in question isn't a Wyvern or Black Chocobo I will be sorely disappointed.

The Lalafell Master Race stands poised to overrun our defenses. Run, my Miqo'te brethren, for they will make kittens of us all! ...Then again, the pettings...

Edgar came about early on during the beta for A Realm Reborn. At the time, I wasn't a member of the RPC community, and contrary to his official 2.0 toon, he began his existence as a Lancer. He had nothing really special about him, at that time. Then I joined a linkshell/FC called Aetherblade and began fleshing him out. I realized that I wanted Edgar to be a lot like myself, which included my flaws. He's talkative, he's very physical, he speaks in a dialect filled to the brim with words right out of the thesaurus and manages to impress and bewilder with this form of speech. Like most of my "Personas", he inherited the fucked up right eye, which in real life is my colourblind eye. Many of my characters feature some sort of nod to this trait; One's eye rolls in its socket like googly eyes, another is an undead maid who has had the entire thing eye rot out into a gaping hole, another is a demon who's mouth stretches across where his right eye should be. And if the others are due to lose an eye at some point in my many writings, you can guess which one will be lost. When he's not walking around acting like a more sophisticated me, Edgar is basically being most people's worst nightmare: a cat-like Miqo'te. He refers to Miqo'te children as kittens, compares his species to Couerls, purrs, and has been reported hissing at someone who tugged his ear too hard. To put it simply, Edgar is a fucking cat. You have a problem with this? Don't RP with me. I will laugh off your complaints and proceed to do nothing but purr until you accept Edgar for who he is as a character. You have been warned. :tonberry: Finally, like myself, Edgar is effeminate. That is to say, he is bisexual, and possibly a bit of a transvestite. If this game allowed cross-dressing I swear to god I'd have Ed show up in the female version of Coliseum subligar. To put it simply, Ed is fabulous- -He just doesn't get many opportunities to express himself. Not quite unlike myself. I live in Oklahoma, the belt-buckle of the Bible Belt, Christian Conservative central, and showing off your non-heterosexuality here is often followed by a horde of angry fundamentalists trying to preserve the sanctity of marriage that you are apparently trampling on by existing. But I digress. Edgar rarely speaks about his sexuality, but come the opportunity, he'd probably take it by the horns and ride it for miles. Interpret that as you will.

Good thinking, Wiz. Can I call you that? Wiz?

I've never really seen MMOs as a genre made for consoles, anyways. When I think of a platform capable of connecting millions of people together over a server, I tend to imagine a PC rather than a PS3.

Miqo’te Mating Strategies Explored: a biologist’s point of view
Dat Oni replied to Myxie Tryxle's topic in Lore Discussion
Miqo'te raised among other races or outside tribes are known for adopting names. It could also be an alias or a nickname. However, I'm not so sure about the Mix route in your case, as that usually involves the mixing of naming conventions to create the desired name. For instance, Edgar's birth name uses the Tribal Prefix of Seekers and the Numerical Suffix of the Keepers in combination, resulting in the name, Z'Shira'a (Z=Ziz Tribe, 'A=First Child). If you've come up with the name on a whim, the Mixed Breed explanation may not work so well. -
How Does Your Character React To Physical Touch?
Dat Oni replied to Dat Oni's topic in Character Workshop
Let's not get off-topic here. I understand these are interesting sources of discussion, and all, but for a second we got dangerously close to the Miqo'te behavior debate again... I cringed with pants-shitting fear when I read that. I really don't want to see a flame war start in this thread, so please, let's not get so into it we start talking about the community and its interpretations of what is "appropriate" behavior for a specific race, and simply focus on the topic at hand. If I'm overreacting, I'm sorry, but it is a sore subject for me, and several threads have me petrified. Cuideag's character "Jajara Jara" is a prime example of this. Even when she panics she causes destruction. -
What can I say? I'm curious. Allow me to explain the question. Basically, in the history of your Roleplay encounters with other people, which moment was your favorite? I'll give my favorite as an example. Essentially, my character, Edgar, had stumbled upon everyone's favorite Lalafell, Jajara Jara outside Drybone. The two had had a bit of a disagreement prior; Edgar and Jara had been talking in his home about Jara's workload and Edgar began to lecture her about it, pointing out that she was in obvious distress over many things, the work being the worst of it, and that she needed help. The way he actually worded it, however, may have come across as far too intrusive and possibly even presumptuous, and she sent him reeling with a bitter response. Edgar, upset by this, ordered her to leave, pointing to the exit as if to say "There's the door." For a while, the two stayed away from each other, but guilt would begin to claw at the hearts of both. Back to Drybone, Edgar approached her timidly, and the two began to talk. They apologized for what they had said, but Jara insisted Edgar was in the right. As the conversation continued, the problems Jara was facing were brought up again, and Edgar noticed that she was beginning to break down, little by little. Edgar finally had had enough, and pleaded that Jara stop holding her emotions back and just let it all out. And so she did. For what must have been the first time in a long, long while, Jara burst into tears. Edgar sat behind her and slowly pulled her in, effectively cradling her against his chest (Ed's not that big, but he's still big enough to coddle a Lala). The time had come for him to repay her for all the moments she had been there for him. It was a pretty emotional moment, and it set in stone the friendship between the two characters, in my opinion. So, what was your favorite RP moment? Don't be shy, now.

Let's face facts here. Some of the players on the RPC have characters who are total cuddle-monsters. But, this is not always the case. It's not uncommon for characters to have an aversion to physical touch, sometimes to the point of freaking out just from having a hand laid on their shoulder. So, out of curiosity, I'd like to ask the community, how physical are your characters? Do they shy away from contact in fear, or are they kittens that brush up against the nearest hand, begging to be pet1? 1. This is not exclusive to Miqo'te, by the by, and I swear to god if you start anything about Miqo'tes not being cats or generally fan the flames of the Miqo'te debates I will find you and destroy you.

The name alone sounds like something out of a Harem anime.

I may be a guy, but I'm damn sure I could make a good meido if I tried!
