Since my main is getting kick off of server (JP) I'm jumping on to Kestlona. She should be at the event soon. She'll probably lurk before what job might be open for a miner. Edit: Well, I couldn't find anyone and it seem that the JP server I was on wasn't the only one have DC issue. Sorry I missed the event. Hope you guys had fun there anyway. Maybe next time.

The Lover's Warden (seeker and keeper event)
Star Lin replied to James Rhymes's topic in Chronicled Events
Oh, this does pipe my interest. I know with my main character story, she and her brother were planning to look into maybe finding the tribe him and his parents may have been coming from when they were killed and he was adopted by her parents. Since I also have a copy of John on Balmung, following in his dead hyur sister's footsteps, this event my push him into finally inquiring among the Keeper clan's about his own tribal roots. ***** John Waterstrike settle onto the dock, rumbling around until he found the bite for his fishing pole. Flicking the line out, he let his being feel the magic in the area, especially Kisrest's slumbering magic in his book. He pulled his line in, unhooking the fish, before casting his line back out. This was the flow of his life with his sister's passing fire years ago but as his dad would say, time moves on and they had to move forward with it. His peace was broken but the giggles off to the side, John frowning as he heard the word Seeker, and flick his ear toward the sound. I hear that the eclipse is going to happen soon. The seeker are holding the gathering this time. Wonder if it will be a fun event or if fighting will break out. You know that doesn't happen as much as it did. I never really understood the fighting myself. That's because you grew up in the city. Still, this is one of the first since the calamity so this should be fun either way. John listen to the two chatting, switching to a different topic, and walking away from his area of the dock. A gathering like this would give him a chance to ask question about his birth parents. That was something he always wanted to know, his parents life and where he came from before the Waterstrike found him. He nods to himself and make a decision. He would attend the event and see what he could find. -
Hey everyone, Sorry about missing out of some of the event this pass weekend. My house had some electrical issue this pass week. Finally got them fixed just a few hours ago. Hopefully I should be able to get back into the game soon.

Two days later found John sitting at an empty table in the Drowning Wench. The Miqo'te's pack was open half way, taking in the details of the crystal within, and glancing down at the book that he was sketching in. He closed the pack once the final details had been done to the drawing he had made of it. He flip the back, quill dipping into the ink bottle as he began to sketch out the circle that had been in his vision. Once the first part of the circles were laid out, John reach for the first of a stack of books that he had 'borrow' from the Arcanist Guild, and sat the quill on top of the bottle. Kit was settle on her book, the Carbuncle watching her partner as he flip through several pages of the first book. Her tail flick around as she watch a frown spread across his face. A new set of circles was made between the two other set of circles, a star was then added to the center of the drawing. "A six point star..." John mutter, drawing in the triangles in the center of it. The book was place down before picking up the next one. John draws a small crystal in the Northwest circle. A search in the second book, then turning his attention to drawing the symbol for water just above it. "So if this is for water," he then drew a symbol for fire and added a question mark beside it. "A Guarding symbol?" It probably was but something wasn't sitting right with him. "The elements work but the symbol doesn't." He pick up the third book, flipping over into the middle of it, and showing the five point design to Kit. "That's a guard symbol..." and flip back a few pages, pointing to a slightly different symbol to what he had draw in the book. "That's a summoning symbol...." Yet why use element crystal, used normally in guard spell, in a summon spell. As he try to make sense of this puzzle, he probably should have chosen a different spot to work on it, with the attention that he was most likely drawing from any of nearby people in the Drowning Wench.

The Screenshot Thread [Tag Your Spoilers]
Star Lin replied to Zyrusticae's topic in FFXIV Discussion
*pats Merri on shoulder* I admit that I think it's a very nice Selfie. Also, very cool Robot behind you, just watch out for the laser cannon. Heard it hits about as hard as some of Baderon's best stuff. -
*step dance into the thread* Yea, just got a glance at my work week. I'll be off Saturday so I'll be able to attend.
-
Oh, this sound interesting. If I'm lucky, I won't have to work that night, or go in early for work that weekend. Kest or John will be there. *crosses fingers just in case*

Ok, sorry for the wait. Just posted the opening for the IC Dungeon run. Here's the link.

Kestlona Guhtegeiswyn' Journal (ooc welcome to comment)
Star Lin replied to Star Lin's topic in Town Square (IC)
(ooc: Sorry this is late. Was late getting out of work, too much sun and not enough water will do weird things to you, but I'm better now. So after working out how I wanted this to go, this is probably going to be a longer then usually posting. Also apologies to Baderon. I'm not as good as he is at butchering the English language. You have been warn.) I smile, letting the smell of seasalt wash over me as I made my way up from Fisherman's Bottom. It is great being back in Limsa Lominsa and seeing my folks again. Pa is still the same, having me play messenger girl, while he try to knock sense into my brothers' heads about taking the ship with nothing but booze and girls. I'm going to try and be late for dinner so I can can avoid what Ma will do to them when she finds out. One 'port later found me entering the Drowning Wrench, grining as I saw Baderon's back to the main floor, and a few folks taking advantage of the 'fine' drinks. I tuck Pa's letter into my belt before cupping my hands around my mouth. "BADGER!" I yell, dodging to the side as Baderon's dagger flew from his hand. "Lass," he growl out before relaxing. I just grin wider and pick his dagger up, bring it back over to him. "You 'now I hate when 'ou do that." Taking the dagger, he wave his hand at one of the stools at the bar. "Lass, 'ave a seat." I smile as I settle onto the stool, feeling it grow more as he sat a pint infront of me. "Pa ask me to bring this by you," I tell him, handing the letter over. Picking up the pint, feeling the burn of Bad's best run down my throat, and glance over at him. "I'll be heading back to Uld'ah soon." I pat my pack, "Before I do, I'm stopping by the 'smiths guild and see if that want to buy off this copper I've been mining." I watch his lips frown, "Bad news?" "Ah, and it's conferring with a 'quest I got from the Maelstrom." He look over at me, "Might want to 'old off on going back to Uld'ah. 'ow you feel about running an 'assignment for the Guild?" "Hey, I'm an Adventurer," I said, "of course I'll do it." I take a pull from my pint as I watch Baderon being writing down something on a couple of pieces of paper. "Good," he said, folding up one paper and handing over to me. "Seems pirates are using Sastasha as a hide out...again." He taps the paper that I'm holding, "Run 'hat down to Mealvaan's gate. With 'll the twist and turns, best to have magical back up. They'll send word out about the request." He then tap the other paper, "I'm 'oing to post this 'ere and see if I get a 'ite." I nod, finishing off the pint, knowing that Baderon was right about needing back up. From the stories that I've heard, you could get lost for days in there and then you still had to get past the creatures that were also living in the cave system as well. Yet, I couldn't help the shiver of excitement at the thought of working with fellow adventurers. What would I learn from them? What friendship could come from this? The start of something wonderful...that's what I believe. -
Thanks for the infor, Serpentine. *scribbles the FC's name down* I might not need them for this run but I'm sure Kest might put in a contract with them for some of the higher dungeons runs. Shoot, these first meetings might even lead her to other adventurers that could show her the ropes, the start of friendships, maybe even rivalries. Well, it's late and I have an early shift tomorrow. Night.
-
I'll see if I can catch you Friday. I should have the back story in my pugilist journal tomorrow evening.
-
Thanks for the idea Freelance. I see a couple that I could probably use for the back story on how they came to be at Sastasha. A mix up in paperwork having all four showing up and the suggest about the Adventurers guild. Though thinking about it, the Adventurers' Guild might play better with Kest's background (since she's original from Limsa Lominsa). Shoot, Baderon might even suggest to Kest about finding some Magical backup. I won't be able to get on until Friday but that will give me most of the day tomorrow to work on the backstory. I'll see about posting it in her journal tomorrow night, after I get home from work. I'll see if I can catch you online either tomorrow night or Friday if your still willing to help.

Blue and purple hair flutter in the sea breeze, as the Miqo'te stared at the crystal in the light of day. What was so important about this crystal that his sister's soul requested it of him? "The crystal must be protect, John. I can't fill the role of Guardian but you are my brother. You have to take my place, to be one of the many lights that will protect our poeple. But you have to stop fighting with yourself in order to be that light." John Waterstrike didn't understand what his sister meant by that. It had to be just one of those crazy vision that he had been having. He brought his hand back, eyes hard as he ready to throw it into the ocean. How long he stood there was unknown, trying to force himself to throw it away. He lower his arm, sinking into a sitting position, and stare sadly at the crystal. "I can't do it," he muttered to himself. "I promise Tanya I would protect you." But he didn't know what he was protecting it from.
-
So, I finally got Kest the quest "It's Probably Pirates" quest for the Sastasha dungeon. I would love to get an RP group for that run but time is a little iffy for me and also that I haven't had much of a chance to get her involved in the RP scene of Balmung. She knows in her head that running without good friends to watch your back is a no no. Since she doesn't have any idea on what she and whoever goes with her might face. "You don't go sailing when a storm brewing on the horizon." as her Pa would say. So, this will probably have to wait until she gains some friends among the other adventures.

http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f28/23StarLin23/ffxiv_05192014_215328.jpg[/img] 19 Sun of the 3rd Astral Moon If anyone ever happens to read this, I warning you know, don't ever pick up strange glowing crystal. This little blue crystal has been the prize of a lot of hurting and heartache. If it wasn't for the fact that She made me promise to keep and protect it, I probably would have thrown it into the ocean...or let Y'shtola deal with it. After all, she's part of the blame on me getting ahold of this...this...whatever it is. I should probably start at the beginning on how I can to be in this rock and hard place. I asked my guildmaster if I could join one of the other guilds, mostly in hopes of working with the fishing guild. I figure it would be a good task when I just needed some time to myself. After a moments thought she agree, telling me that they had enough arcanists to cover cargo inspection. http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f28/23StarLin23/ffxiv_05192014_214221.jpg[/img] That's how I came to be near the path that leads to Seasong Grotto which I saw Y'shtola heading too. Yea, I should have ignore her but I was curious as to what she was doing here. So, I caught up to her and asked if she needed some help. She smile and agree, though I pretty sure now that she only did it to humor me. She was actually out here to check on some aetheric readings that her strange necklace/device had picked up. The Grotto is a small cave, the middle of the floor was a large stone tablet, and a poem of the sea. Y'shtola called it the Sailor's requiem, which fit with Limsa sea port/city. http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f28/23StarLin23/ffxiv_05192014_215211.jpg[/img] Well, it seems that the golem that we ended up facing wasn't going to be the end of the trouble that I'm finding myself into. I can't help but wonder if Tanya had any of these problems when she first started as an adventurer. This time, it was a Goobbue that they sent after her/me/us. Not sure if it even the same person that seems to be targeting us. So, it was fight, dodge, heal, and repeat but we finally killed it. So, Y'shtola went to examine it and I ended up finding the crystal. So, stupid me decided to pick it up. Que major headache and one crazy and heart wrenching vision. First the crazy... This huge crystal floated up before me, talking to me, but I was in too much pain to understand what 'she' was saying to me. Then a spot on the crystal glow and...and... http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f28/23StarLin23/ffxiv_05192014_165742.jpg[/img] *paper becomes wet with tears* Tanya...my sister, with such a determined look on her face. She told me stuff that I don't understand, taking her place, protect the crystal, find others like me... it doesn't make any sense. http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f28/23StarLin23/ffxiv_05192014_220148.jpg[/img] I only know this much after waking up from that vision. I'm still no closer to what is going on with me. Also, after telling Y'shtola about the huge crystal...but nothing else about the vision, makes me think that she might know more then she letting on. Or I could just be projecting that on her because I need to know what's going on with me. The more that goes on around me, the less I feel that nothing will ever be normal again Then...normal has been gone ever since you die, Sister...

Nice. Now I'm even more eager for Monday to roll around. I'll be watching it on Viz site while I wait for the announcement of the bluray release.

Oh, I understand completely. I think I was one of the few that didn't mind Rini's voice. Yet, I'm eager to see how the dub comes off, especially during the Sailor Stars season. If it turns out terrible, I can at least still watch the subs episodes.

Kestlona Guhtegeiswyn' Journal (ooc welcome to comment)
Star Lin replied to Star Lin's topic in Town Square (IC)
17th Sun of the 3rd Astral Moon I was stop at Scorpion Crossing by a young girl about some private lands that were up for auction. I told her I would check it out for her but once I got in there, I knew that not only was it way too much gil for me but probably too much for her as well. http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f28/23StarLin23/ffxiv_05172014_215128.jpg[/img] The place was huge, with different routes to get to the different housing wards. I took the route that led into the second ward. All I could think about was how far down it was from the bridge. There was a good many houses and I also check the prices of the land. Two Million gils....for a small. I didn't even check to see what the mid and large cost. http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f28/23StarLin23/ffxiv_05172014_220032.jpg[/img] Though I did find one that was set up as a Theater...that's what the sign said anyway. I guess it would be a nice place to visit from time to time but to live here, might be a little harder. In other thoughts, I should speak with the guildmaster about training. I don't want to bother him about my slow footwork when he has so many other pugilist that he's testing and training. Maybe he could recommend someone to help with that. http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f28/23StarLin23/ffxiv_05172014_232559.jpg[/img] I sat for a little while on the steps and watch what must have been a jumping contest going on between a small group of adventurers. I almost went over to join them but I chicken out. *three dots of ink can be seen on the paper, as if the quill was tapped against it* My brothers would have a field day over their social butterfly of a sister becoming a wallflower. I'm new to this adventuring business and most of the ones in Uld'ah have been doing this for years. Still, maybe one day, I'll be on even footing with them. It's still a long way to go but if I keep my feet swift and my eyes open for those incoming blows, I'll make it to the finally round of my fights. -
Just got this in from one of the member of my main's FC on our web page. I was very, very happy with it and thought I should post it here for any of the fans of the old series. RWPyM9afQ-w Do you realize how happy I am right now. It's going to be uncut, all new dub, and all 5 seasons. Sailor Moon, SMR, SMS, SMSuperS, and...SM Sailor Stars. This will keep me very happy until the remake is finally release.

Well, shoot. Kest would have probably love to attend this but RL work will be in the way. *grumbles about 1 pm to 11 pm shifts* -
http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f28/23StarLin23/ffxiv_05162014_205122.jpg[/img] 16th Sun of the 3rd Astral Moon I'm John Waterstrike of the small Hyur clan Waterstrike. True, I'm not Hyur but a Miqo'te. Mama thinks I may have been a Keeper's son, though it never bother me. I'm name after my Papa, the one who found me and raised me as their own. I hav...had an older sister, their blood child; Tanya. She's been gone five years now, since the calamity and I still wish that she was here to guide me, even if it is just with a gentle smile and a hard shove. *a few wet spots appear on the paper* Baderon was telling me about his time as a mercenary and how ships would keep log journals. So after retiring to my inn room, I decided to make a log of my adventure here in Limsa Lominsa... and maybe...just maybe writing down these vision will help me to control them. The headaches and visions started after a strange dream, a female's voice telling me to 'Hear...Feel...Think', and above me a strange star shower in the sky. I saw a darkness right before I woke up but I'm not sure what it means. Then I meet a girl...http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f28/23StarLin23/ffxiv_05162014_201906.jpg[/img] My Arcanist's master sent me to check out a disturbance in the aether near Summerford Farms. I'm not sure what I stumble into when I arrived but I was meet by a stone golem. She appeared near the end of the battle, which I counted as a blessing, since I didn't think me or Kit was going to survive that thing. It was when she turn to me that the headache happen again and I found myself lost in the strange visions again... Everything was faded, like the very colors of the world was drain away. I was standing beside her, walking through different areas of Limsa, and feeling completely lost at what I...we were looking at. During one of the visions, she looked up at the sky and I did as well. What I saw froze me in place... http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f28/23StarLin23/ffxiv_05162014_202123.jpg[/img] My mind stuttered at the sight of Dalamund, taunting me as it hung in the sky, reminding me that it would take one of my dearest family members from me. Yet, why was I seeing it in the sky now when it has been five years since it was brought down onto Eorzean. I don't think I truly understand what was/is going on. I know it wasn't long after that vision that I woke up with my head throbbing in pain the woman looking down at me in concern. She help me to my feet and introduce herself as Y'shtola and I also gave her my name as well. She had also saw the disturbance in the aetheric flow and came to investigate. Just before she left, she looked at me as if she knew me... http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f28/23StarLin23/ffxiv_05162014_201925.jpg[/img] She told me to tell Baderon what happen, which I did...kind of...ok, I left out the headache and visions. But how can I explain that to him...I wouldn't blame him if he called the Yellow Jackets to have me locked away. By the Twelve, Tanya, I wish you were here. I know you would have an idea on what is happening to me. *the ink smears as if the quill was held too tight* I'm scare, Tanya... am I losing my mind...

16th Sun of the 3rd Astral Moon Hm, how should I begin this here jounal? I guess my name would probably work out right. I'm Kestlona Guhtegeiswyn, only girl but with three older brothers. Let's just say they were the ones that taught me how to fight with my fist. I've been here a few moons now, learning my way around Uld'ah. A lot of that came from the help of my Miss Momodi. http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f28/23StarLin23/ffxiv_05162014_163955.jpg[/img] She was the one that suggest that I should keep a recorder of my adventure around Uld'ah. It reminds me of dad's ship's logs: place where your at in the water, how the crew was dealing with rough weather, and your catch for the day. Don't get me wrong, Limsa Lominsa is a good city but it was all I ever known. My heart will always be a part of the ocean, 'till sea swallows all. The coming and going of different trade ships and people from all walks of life. Uld'ah is the same yet different. There is different trade that comes into the port just a few malms away from Uld'ah. A different mixture of people here in Uld'ah. Then there's the land that seems to spread out before you. http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f28/23StarLin23/ffxiv_05162014_160649.jpg[/img] It makes me excited about what else I'll see, who I'll meet, and what adventures await me here. I think time and luck will be on my side. *some quickly squibbles lines were enter into the journal* Just as I finish writing this, the city wide linkpearl activated. Seem someone by the name of Selphy Nix announce over the linkpearl that she had just became a Black Mage. I sent her my congratulation through the pearl to her. Not too sure what a Black Mage is though. I'll have to speak with either Momodi or one of the other adventurers in the city.

Why is it I seem to have the worst time when I try to use any coding for my posts? *goes off to try and figure out why it's not working*:frustrated: Edit: *give thumb up to mod* Thanks for fixing it.

Personal Profile Character Name:John Waterstrike Gender:Male Race:Miqo'te, Keep of the moon Domestic Profile Civil Status:Resident, noncitizen (original from Ul'dah) Place of Residence:The Drowning Wench Occupation:Arcanist/inspecting cargo and also as a fisherman Free Company:None at the moment Social Profile John was pretty much raise in a magic hyur household. He was found as a baby by Johnathan and Kacey Waterstrike when they were one of the first to investigate a caravan attack. When their daughter Tanya saw him, she declare that he was her new baby brother. He has a bit of a sister complex, feeling that he will never be as good as she had been with magic as she was. After his sister's death during the calaminty, he decided to follow in her footstep and become an Adventurer like she had been. Five years later, he slip from his home with only the clothes on his back and two treasure, a locket with a picture of him and sister and a grimoires that she had brought for his tenth birthday. Just before his arrival in Limsa, he saw a huge starshower, and starting his cursed visions and almost crippling headaches. He has no idea what to make of them, vision of the past...future...or him finally losing his mind. Landing in Limsa Lominsa, he began to learn about the book and the magic that was held within it. He can usually be found in the Drowning Wench, studying or even being a friendly ear, or down at Fishman's Bottom losing himself in memories as he fishes. Meta Profile John doesn't know that the headaches and visions that he surfer from are in fact an extreme version of the Echo that his sister had when she first became an adventurer. While she had control over it, (Tanya my main from 1.0) John has no control over when they happen. Since my main Tanya is on a different server and I'm still working on gearing her up, I probably won't be on very often for RP. I will also be dividing my RP time between him and Kestlona (my RP main). I'll try to hop on to shake off some of his dust for some good old RP action. Mod note: Fixed it for you by removing the "code" tags.
