*sigh* Both John and Kestlona have PC rumor sections. Nothing so far on them and not to surprise. I'm just starting out with RP.

John again found himself at the Grindstone but this time there was no one here but himself and Kit. It was quiet except for the small group that was usually there during the day. His ears twitch as he read through one of several books that he had with him. All of the books were on aether and energy but there was a couple about engineering as well, through those haven't been crack open. His glove cover fingers flipping the page of the book that he held. Those few that notice him might have thought nothing much of the books he had. But for John they were a line to an end. Ever since he and his sister had realize what his 'Dreaming' was truely about, his sister had been studying the echo she had even more to help him control his own ability. John lower his head, feeling that ache at her lost 6 years ago to the events leading up to the Calamity. "I wish you were here, Tanya." Since he has been healer at the Grindstone, he has notice that he could feel the injures with his own energy. Even shift the aether in others to reset and heal broken bones. He hadn't thought much about how he was doing it until after the last Grindstone. His ears laid flat against his head, then that 'man' had shown up after the event was over with. He could only stand there and do nothing to help those that had confront the 'person'. His grip tighten on the book, what good was he if he couldn't protect those that he thought of as friends. Still study aether and energy manipulation might give him and edge in healing if they face something like this again. Yet, he also had a fear. If his ability to read energy with his hands were getting stronger, to sense it through his glove cover hands, did that mean his 'Dreaming' was getting stronger as well. He fear that if it was, he could become lock in a 'Dream' with no means to escape it. No, if can't worry about that yet. 'One small step at a time, John.' his sister's words echoing in his head. "Yes," he mutter. "One step at a time."

balmung The Grindstone - Saturdays at 10 PM EST (9 PM Central)

Oh, I know that. This is just going to be Character building for John. He may be a healer but he also want to protect those that he cares about. This could be use to get him into one of the other martial classes. Not sure which one, character wise, he would fit into, through I do have Rogue open on him. Also, John remember him from one of the first times he heal at the Grindstone but hadn't realize at the time what he was sensing from the entity. -

Ah, wish I took some screenshots but just to give a low down. Had a void touch show up after Howl and Warren left. He was eye Leanne and his presence has gotten John on edge. Yeah, I think John might have gotten involved with the fight if he didn't feel like he might have been in the way of the other fighters (also Sis came home early from her shift with county and went to bed early to attend Church with her best friend). So don't be surprise if you get a PM from him, Warren about what happen. -
Kestlona somehow lost track of Warren as she made her way to the other door. Stumbling out of it, she drop to her knees coughs racking her body from the smoke she inhale. Once she got rid of most of the smoke from her lungs, she stood up, and yank the door back open. Her pack was drop in front of the door, keeping it open, and allowing the faint breeze to blow through the area. The smoke began to thin and she started to make out the inside of the Quicksand a little better. She turn turn back to the small crowd that was gathering around. "DON'T JUST STAND THERE!" she yelled. "We need healers for those that been injure." She watch two younglings dash away, calls of Master Waterstrike echoing back to her. She didn't waste time to see if anyone else was going to get help. She drove back into the Quicksand, making her way over to Judge and the burnt Brass Blade. **** Pain, from his head, and the bodies landing on him was the first thing that register. He try to free one glove hand, groaning in pain from his head. Ears laid flat, his eyes slit open, just making out several people around him. John's nose twitch at the coppery smell of blood, trying to figure out through the pain where it was coming from, and the smell of brunt flesh. He though the blond look like Clio but he didn't know who the others were. He try to cast his mind back to what happen, his hand coming free to land on Solis's pouch. John inhale sharply as the energy dance under his glove fingers. Alive and yet not whole, feeling like what he sense when he would read the energy to heal. He also was on the verge of asking what was it that he sense but coughs rack his body at that moment. His hand pull away from the pouch, his whole body curling in on itself as he began to cough. "Clio...dhna," his words broken up by coughs, "wh...who...hu...rt..." If someone was hurt, he had to find them and heal....

Before the Fall Vs. You [Major spoilers]
Star Lin replied to ChewableMorphine's topic in RP Discussion
Hm, for Kestlona, this probably won't effect her too much. Oh, she'll see the increase in Brass and Crystal, and her own nature to try and find out what the fact from the rumor. Erik might what to keep a close eye on how much one of his 'men' is poking her nose into the rumor mill. Now her teacher Alex is in Corth. helping in that fight. Yet, if he knew what was taking place in Uld'ah, he would have call 'Lona in an instant. He wouldn't want to lose his student/weapon (he keeps telling himself that she is a means to an end at the Garlena(sp? It's late and not looking up the spelling) but he does care about what happen to her) John on the other hand might be in the sites of the Monetarist since his family in know Royalist. John doesn't know it at the moment but Thomas is already setting up for his wife and son to stay in Gridania for a while. He doesn't know what exactly is happening but he knows that he and his family could but the next with the Monetarist trying to gain a stronger hold. Let me tell you, that is going to be a big blow up when John finds out why they are actually going to be in Gridania. Uld'ah is his home and will fight to free it from Monetarist. -
The Bacchus Shots Competition is back! 1/22 @9pm

Don't know if John or Kestlona will attend this one. Depend on how work plays out (for some reason the store has been giving me a lot more closing shifts) around then. Hm, if John does come, he's not going to be drinking. He still remembers the hang over from the one and only time that he was in the competition. -
Erik Mynhier Wrote: Ah, can't do it tonight...or any this week. Closing shift until Thursday when I get off at 6 pm. Oh well, have fun with it guys.

I really need to find a way to work out time to actually try and attend these events. *sigh* I probably a good thing though since Kestlona is still a couple of level from hitting 30 yet. Still sounded like it was a fun event. By the way, Erik, when are you going to Dragonhead for the artifact hunt. Kest my join you guys to meet "Alex" for added training and also get his notes for the Dravian language that she's wanting to get started on.

And again I didn't take many shots at the grindstone. But here is a couple that might be fun to see. John has join the others to watch Sounsyy's third round fight. It was great. Yes, John is without his shirt in this picture. It was sacrifice for bandages earlier. Poor John was blushing so badly especially when Sei asked "Where is your shirt?" -

So after farming fates and dungeons, Kestlona finally got a grown up chocobo. Here is a close up of Kestlona and Alex (though I still need to find time to color him black, since little chicks gotta grow up sometime). -
Sounds like it'll be fun. Not sure if I'll be able to attend through. Day before Easter, which means that my store is going to be slam by shoppers getting last minute items. The store will be close Sunday so I might stop in then.

Wha... When was this and why didn't John know about it? John: *blinks at his player* Because you were sick and also working this week? But in all seriousness when did this take place. I could see his mother sending him to something like this. I'm off tomorrow (Sat), so I hope to get a chance to get some RP in on John and Kestlona then. -
Kestlona's mind is racing even as she try to hack up a lung. Guards need to be set up at the door ways, keeping the lurkers out and getting healers and other personal in. She could hear Momodi's coughing voice, hoping that the Lalla wasn't hurt herself, and that she was using a linkpearl to try to get help to the quicksand. But the first thing they needed to do was try and clear out the smoke. "Warren," she said between coughs, "we needa ta get the other doors open." She slit her eyes trying to peer past the smoke and tears. "It'd wouldn't do to have healers stumbling around in the dark."
-
"Thal's balls..." Kestlona shouted, eyes realizing that the door had been rigged. "Take cover." Her and Warren's table was upturn, much in the same that Clio had done her's and Nathan. She curse not for the first time about not paying attention to Alex about deactivating bombs. She would have to look into that later, if there was a later. "War..." she began only to widen her eyes at the Miqo'te that had jump the banister. If the boy didn't get to cover. Kest's hands jerk to her ears as the bomb went off, smoke filled the room, and what appear to be a flaming body sail over their heads toward the inn. At that moment, she hear an animistic cry and a brief flash of light. **** John didn't know who the elezen woman was and the Miqo'te didn't want to know. He hop the banister, landing on all four. "Kit," he hissed, trying to find his familiar in the confusion. He stood up, seeing the carbuncle, moving toward him. "There you ar..." he was deafen by the sound of the explosion, ears going flat to try and cut out the ring, and fire heading toward their direction. He drove, catching Kit in his arms, and roll out of the way of the flaming body. The only problem was that he didn't pay attention the direction he roll, his movement carrying him head first into a table. Kit's cry bleed into the flash or pain and then their was nothing as he was knock out cold. Kit cry out as her body disappear into aether now that he wasn't conscious to hold her form. A pool of blood already forming around his head from the small cut that had form at the back of John's head.

Celebration of The Scholar - Sunday March 22nd
Star Lin replied to Jancis's topic in Chronicled Events
Yeah, I try to be more into it but that stomach bug just wasn't letting up. About half way through the event I got the chills and couldn't stop shivering. Dang I was really looking forward to this event and because of this blasted bug all John did was sit and only say a few words if I was luck enough to stop shaking enough to type something out. Sorry to Clio and Ilwe'ran for not being more talkative. -

John will be attending, though he might not look all that great. I was laid up with a stomach bug yesterday and still kind of feeling the effect of it today. What time are the pligrims meeting at Fallgourd to make the join to Revenant's Toll? -

Star Lin replied to YesGood's topic in Roleplay Events
Sorry I didn't attend the Grindstone last night. I was laid up in bed with a stomach bug. Pretty much my stomach rebel the first half of the day and then only protested on dry toast and water the rest. The rest of the time I was sleeping it off. This is why I hate when my co-workers come in sick and doesn't just stay at home. -
John pull himself back onto the bed, panting from the last dry heaves that wreck his body. The Miq'to just made out the sound of the bucket being moved and a wash cloth was place on his head. "dad..." "Shss," Thomas said, making sure that the blankets were pull back over him. "The fever shouldn't last much longer." He readjusted the cloth and reach for the cup of water. "Just a little sip." John took a small sip, waiting to see if it would come back up, and those his stomach protested a little, the water stay down. "the old man..." "Is being seen to by your mother," his dad said. They were lucky that they had caught this stomach aliment this early. Still, they wish they had knew about it before letting John tend to the old man. "We'll try some broth in an hour." John swallow hard but nod knowing that he needed to keep fluids in his body. He cracked his eyes open, taking in the low light, and remembering what day this was. "I have to go..." he said, trying to crawl out of bed. Thomas push John back into bed. "You will not be going anywhere." "but sir warren....the grindstone..." "Sir Warren will understand," he said. "I will send a letter to him explaining why you can't make it." He pick up his staff, "I'm sure you do not want any of the others to catch what you have." He cast sleep on him, the Miq'to sub-coming to the spell faster then normal. Thomas then went back to the living area. Pulling out the quill and parchment, he pen the letter. Sir Warren Castille, I am Thomas Waterstrike, John Waterstrike's father. I wish to inform you that John will not be attending the Grindstone tonight. While help out at the clinic with my wife, he came into contact with a hyur that had a contagious stomach aliment. He sends his regrets that he can not help out but if is best not to spread it farther. We hope that he will recover from this soon and that he well be able to help out farther when he is well. John sees Star's smirk and hightails it for the Inn room. "You are not going to put me out there like a side of Aldgoat." *door lock clicks*

I did a quick change to by off by 5:30 pm that Friday but nothing yet on my boss oking that change. If he does, Erik, Kest might be a little late to the event. Just giving you a heads up on that. -

Poor John isn't doing so good. Got a major hangover and his dad isn't helping. Thomas is making him pay for going out and getting drunk. Banging door, rattling pots and pans, and fixing the smelliest food. If he comes to any more of these event, he's going to watch from now on. -

So the "Celebration of The Scholar" event is taking place next week. I decided to run John to Toll to get the Teleport there. Yep, he made it to Toll on his first attempt. I'm so happy.
