Barring private things like that regarding PMs, I'm speaking strictly of non private things, which I know has happened and I think should be visible. I don't understand 'redaction for their own sakes' that to me translates in to something to hide, and LS leaders should not be hiding behind redaction.

I think there are a lot more forum etiquette issues than that, but it's your forum and your choice what to moderate. What I'm saying is its kind of just a little silly to get 'annoyed' by people having a conversation in a thread about the topic. I don't think anyone in there had the intention of bumping. Just my opinion. I'm speaking entirely of redaction. I just wish for more transparency for the community.

I know plenty of leaders and no one has complained at all... So I'm not sure where this is coming from. These posts are harmless and useless towards promoting. It's not about who is on top of the list, that's just terribly silly. If someone is going to get up in arms every time a post is made, disable posting. I don't think anyone has malicious intent. Regarding the LS Leader meetings, I'm sorry but no, you don't have a right to exclude things in an interaction like that. On the moderator forum, yes you have a right to privacy as mods, but not in a visibly posted transcripts of a meeting that is essentially public. This is not a private conversation between friends.

I want to say that I took a look at the Linshell Hall page and didn't find any evidence of actual LS bumping, more conversations between interested people. Regardless, who cares? It's not like they are getting more traffic because of it. Some LS's with 0 posts have more than a thousand views. If you don't want people to post, maybe adding that feature would be a better way of handling the problem you think is there. On a side note, maybe a discussion should be had instead on making the Linshell Leader meetings transparent, uneditable and unrevisable.

Deirdre took part in the battle but due to certain happenings was not time skipped and lived out the five cycles. My alt did not take place in the battle and also did not time skip.

I believe it is most peoples opinions here that the game time passes like real time, so one week IRL is 1 week in game. Therefore, I've RPed about 2 years in game, and Deirdre has aged 2 years. So yeah, aging does occur

We probably won't have access to this kind of thing in game yet so we're going to have to use our imaginations. A few of the artists in the community are devising a fix for this, so hang on for now

In the story that I took Deirdre's name from there are a group of brothers. One of them is named Naois, and in the story he carries Deirdre across the Loch-Ness on his shoulders. I'll be naming my chocobo Naois again, it was the same in 1.0, though I never really called attention to Deirdre's chocobo ICly. I hope to raise more chocobos when the game is released, so I can include the other names from the same story.

We don't have /sleep yet unfortunately. There is only /doze Hopefully they will add the sleeping feature though!

You have to also keep in mind that a beta, especially phases that we have right now which are short weekend bursts, are not for roleplaying. They are for testing, and a lot of roleplayers are checking things out, tweaking their characters, and dealing with the rest of that. Looking for a RP LS in the game itself right now is not going to do you much good, because leaders of LS's aren't starting anything up yet. Phase 4 and release is when you might have more luck. Until then if you're looking for an LS, checking out the LS Postings on the forum and inquiring with some of the leaders of the ones catching you eye might be the best way to go about it. For the event itself, it only required you to be lvl 15, which only takes a few hours. A ton of people managed to do that and went. There will be more opportunities for you to RP, just be patient. Edit: As a side note, I always turn my shout off. I never look at it unless I'm looking to do pickup dungeons or leveling, and many people do the same. Using shout as a communication medium for RP isn't going to help, really. All my time in 1.0 I've never seen a shout that wasn't a troll, asking for roleplay.

A lot of us on Gilgamesh aren't RPing right now, and you shouldn't expect it too much. Lots of people are exploring the areas and new content, as well as putting the finishing touches on their characters. Deeper in to Phase 4 and launch is when you will start seeing more open RP, though there is an RP event on Gilgamesh tomorrow.

I want to reiterate that this is for OOC communication, and is in no way meant to be audio RP, lol. Those of us who make use of VoIP on a daily basis to talk with fellow RPers also do so while RPing, and if we get distracted simply jump channels or mute. We are not worse RPers for it either. This topic isn't a debate on the pros or cons of VoIP, just to see how many people would use it so I'm not wasting my money. If you're not interested, that's great, if you are, please post your VoIP of preference, thanks!

One can still socialize with others without voice related chat. Most have been doing it for years no problem . It's a comfort thing. Sorry it's hard to get my point across on my phone. I meant socialize via voice. Lots of people in VoIP just sit and listen and communicate via the built in chat function. Also, judging by the success of the OOC Skype chat, I don't see too many clique issues occurring, we all seem to get along.

I've made a ton of wonderful friends via different voice chats. If you don't want to socialize with others that's perfectly fine. Everyone happy and friendly, and there are separate channels if you decide you don't want to listen to someone. Another note, if we go ahead with this I've decided not to label it RPC, it will instead be associated with intermission/backstage.

Either choice will cost money especially for a large number of people but its not a huge deal.
