  1. Oh yeah I've been reading up on how T2 Enrage may or may not be possible (sounds like it still is but needs better gearing or healer composition, etc) and that the HP of things were buffed or something about Tanks in T5 not being able to -really- do solo tanking in it. T5 discussion just flew over my head. T2 barely because I just stood there and DPS'd it as my friends were doing enrage. I don't mind learning rot passing either but maybe I won't find my friends willing to let me learn with them. Or they can~ I shall see next week when I'm probably going to be i80. I'm not sure what contributes to what ilvl weighing.
  2. Kage nodded and grinned, "Her ale's the best!" He rose the tankard in a small toast to the Lalafellian proprietor and took a small swig of it. He lay it down back onto the counter and peered into it, noticing that it was getting empty. He knew that it would take a few more before he started to get broody so he thought it might be safe to get another, but he also hadn't had the mulled tea in awhile. Seeing Kakaru enjoy it made him want to drink a cup in between the tankards of ale he might want to drink. Kage gave a small deadpan look in Natalie's direction at her innocent remark and glanced at the other Lalafell. He gave her a small glare and said, "Ha. Ha. I'm going to ask for a mulled tea myself along with another tankard. Did you want anymore Natalie? Maybe you would like to try some of Momodi's ale, Kakaru?"
  3. Yeah I think they just want to make sure they can get through to T4 without having to switch or so... Several of them keep saying Zenith and then others keep telling me Accuracy cap first so it's been very... @_@ confusing. I -know- I missed a few spells on just Caduceus and I didn't turn off the spell effects so I have no idea how it was when I went to ADS when they did it for T2 Enrage.
  4. Kage regarded Kakaru's hair with renewed interest and bit his lip before rolling his eyes at Natalie. He wouldn't tease her about it anymore... unless something else or someone else came up. It wouldn't do to tease her so much... by himself. Kage nods and replied, "To be honest, I have never dabbled into Alchemy itself. I know it has its uses but it's a little beyond me at the moment." Kage thought back to a previous week's events and glanced at Natalie before shaking his head. Kage chuckled at Natalie and rolled his eyes as he asked Kakaru, "If you don't mind my asking, where are you from? Unless you -are- from Ishgard.."
  5. At this rate people are going to give Kage a complex and may just have to start really reciprocating all these very nice actions... No longer a part of this linkshell.
  6. Can confirm. The chat gets -really- rowdy at times but if you're up to it don't let that discourage you. We're a good friendly bunch who want to have a positive RP experience and have fun with others while doing so. Some events are in the talks to continue our fun and hopefully weekly events as well. On side note: We need more Lalas... and Roes... So many miqo'te Also please be nice to the Lalas. I am no longer in the linkshell. Please don't contact me for an invite.
  7. Kage took a sip of his own ale and peered into the tankard before smirking at Natalie. "I actually don't think you've actually told me anything of the sort. If anything, you have been quite helpful encouraging any Free Paladins to help me," he drawls. Adding wistfully, "Not that you can get me to stop unless Papashan himself told me no. Or her Majesty..." Kage blinked before shaking his head in refusal, "Oh no! No. Everyone's been getting a haircut. Your hair is just fine, but if you really want an opinion..." Kage trailed off as he looked around the room. He quickly scampered to make a stand on the barstool to ruffle Natalie's own hair and whisper, "You should ask C." He eased himself back to sit on his stool before looking back at Kakaru. "I've only recently taken up the sword and shield myself. It's all very new to me. What about you and thaumaturgy?"
  8. Kage grinned at Kakaru's actions and shook his head. He gave a nod to the barkeep motioning between himself and Kakaru and raised two of his fingers. He'd been here too much recently that they'd know what he wanted. "Well, it's a good thing that I trust them. They're my friends, my best friends so I'm fine with them doing it." He looked around and not seeing his friends he whispered, "Between you and me, I actually like being carried around by my friends. On their shoulders and the like. If I was upset by it... well needless to say they'd know it." He felt the sudden hand on his hair and tried ducking a little as he turned around ready to hit someone, "Hey!" Kage's eyes widened as he saw it was his friend Natalie. "Nat!" He grinned and waved a hand around to any empty barstool around. He beamed at the familiar Miqo'te and gestured to the other Lalafell with a hand. "I just met him today! Said his name's Kakaru!" Kage turned to Kakaru and waved a hand at the female Miqo'te and said, "Kakaru, meet Natalie. Nat's a good friend I've made. She helped me start training to be a gladiator. I'd like to think we're good friends."
  9. No.. No I asked for the advice so everything is appreciated. Just wanted to say where I'm coming from. I want to join them asap but I know they have better options than someone who is still a little (or a lot I dont know) under geared.
  10. To be honest I think most of my FC would be less willing to take me through T4 (while being ok with me in T1-3) so it may not be the issue. It seems like I'm able to make it through T1-2 fine (T3 well.. I can't dodge things that hit me as I bounce through the air and die after a large mob aggros... or if they're sitting right outside the exit). So I don't think I'm quite in a "hurry" to join them in T4 as it seems to be at least a month or so in the future before I can.
  11. ((Apologies for the late and small, reply. Now I'm on mobile at work so this may be a teeny bit hard)) Kage mouthed the name, sounding it out in his head and nodding as he reciprocated the firm grip and handshake. He tilted his head curiously as he set both hands back on the counter, one palming the tankard of ale and the other his knee. He bit his lip and then gave a small grin as he rubbed his knee. "I know that feeling. To be honest, I've made a handful of friends here in Ul'dah myself and they're all... well not 'snack-sized' as they call me. They're all mostly Miqo'te," Kage said as he rolled his eyes. He glanced around, seeing if any of them were around and continued, "so I usually stay or stand on the railing to keep a proper discussion height. Otherwise, looking up tends to hurt when you're doing it all the time." He eyed the finished cup of mulled tea and asked, "Want another? I can treat you to one. I've not had many chances to speak with other Lalafell."
  12. I was introducing a friend last night to Ultima HM with another experienced friend (not ex but same mentality). We were doing pretty good but in the second set of Ifrit charge or plumes I forget, my tank friend died either to stacks or something else. We ended up wiping. 2 of the DPS just left. Then the MT. Then both healers. No one said a word. Just one attempt through DF and after 1 wipe just left. I guess it's better than saying, "Oh this isn't farming party? I'll be leaving now." or "1 wipe right before bombs? Know your shit /leave" but it was just...
  13. Kage perked, seeing another Lalafell take a seat next to him. He had his own experience with thaumaturgy; a growing number of his friends knew about it yet it still was not common knowledge. He gave a small smile at the familiar garb and waved a greeting, nodding, "Hello!" He noticed that the Lalafell was certainly not from the area; his features were quite striking. While Kage's own blueish purple hair was streaked with crimson highlights, the others' eyes struck him. He was curious about the others' origins but he wasn't going to ask unless something like that came up. He had secrets himself. Kage took a sip of his ale and answered, "I like to come here, honestly. It's my favorite spot to relax, be merry, or group with friends. I mostly just sit over on top of the rail near one of the columns but there's quite a few Miqo'te there and I'm not familiar with them. What about you? What brings you here?" He blinks forgetting himself. He extends his hand to the other saying, "Pardon me. My name is Kage. Kage Kiryuu. Nice to meet you."
  14. I honestly felt a little bad recently since I only got to ilvl78 in the last week and will be getting my Relic+1 or Myth body next week... but I took in a lot of the great advice here! I wasn't really thought of to be taken along when mentioned but people have started to consider it... so when my FC's static really couldn't get a good set time for this week my friend said we'd do it on Monday so 6/8 of the group was our FC or our FC LS friends. We got through T1-T3 but I don't nearly have the gear for T4. It was quite fun even though Caduceus really wanted to eat me when the split happened and the tank on my split died and we had to wipe... He liked me so much he took a bite out of me, left me with about 100 HP, took everyone else down and then came back for the rest! We didn't make it clear enough that it was going to be greed rules so I lost out on the casting bracelets to the PUG BLM that joined us... and I also died to the mobs at the end of T3 because most of the group made it and I didn't realize that I wasn't supposed to go to the pad but to the allagan teleporter. Here's to hoping I'll get Quelling strikes (2 lvls away) this week... Quick question though: I have Crimson Gloves but the DL gloves have the accuracy so I used those. I went into T1-2 with 394 or so accuracy w/o food and whatnot. I of course decently missed a few spells. I've been told to get Zenith first then the myth body but while Zenith gives more DPS the myth body would give me a good boost in accuracy. Which would really be better to get next week?
  15. ((So I just really want to get to RP off the game and love the Quicksand too much is that too bad??... I say OOC OK but to be perfectly honest I don't even know what that means~ )) A lone Lalafell garbed in gladiator garb sans a headpiece walked into the Quicksand, peering around the familiar setting. With the back of his hand, Kage wiped off the small sheen of sweat that had set in on his forehead after traveling from the Copperbell Mines through Black Brush to Ul'dah. It had been a long few days, some slow and some very not slow days for him and he'd needed time away from it all to just get back to training to what he thought he would prefer out of his life now. Kage's head sweeped around, at first thinking that he would take his perch on the rail that he'd started to enjoy sitting on along with his friends but saw that there were a few Miqo'te leaning on the railing. Unfortunately these Miqo'te were not ones he was familiar with so he decided that he'd take a seat at the counter after ordering an ale or two. He gave Momodi a small smile before asking for his usual order. He took the tankard of ale to the counter where a few empty barstools sat. He set his tankard down before he plopped onto a stool. He took a large sip and sighed, staring into it. He closed his eyes, setting an elbow onto the counter a bit and rested his cheek on one palm. "I really hope things don't get as bad as the last few days have been so soon," he muttered. He took another large sip of his ale and continued, "The anxiety that follows might just make me a drunkard. If I wanted to be one, I'd at least be wanting for some fun and not brooding over whether or not someone's life was in danger." Kage's legs aimlessly swung forward and back as he once again looked around Quicksand. He'd always see some of the same regulars, almost always not having the courage to even wave in hello. Some days he'd see someone he hadn't met before but still wasn't sure of just giving them a greeting. Perhaps he'd see someone new or someone he knew tonight.
  16. At this moment Kage doesn't have a mount IC. I haven't given it much thought but Kage either walks or runs on his own two small legs that tend to make it a chore... So he's probably going to have the Chocobo 'Shiron' after participating in some "fun" things. OOC, I only ride on the Ahriman when I'm bored and want to be amused by how Lalafell cling to it as they fly around. I don't really use the Magitek (even though oh god do I love it) but I may also be riding the Behemoth mount... The behemoth mount won't be IC either. If I ever actually finish the Amalj'aa dailies and get the gil for it I plan to rock the drake forever. I'll find some way for Kage to be able to get it. Some. Way.
  17. I'd definitely be up for joining! I'd be on the learning side of things though, but I'd be happy to help others when I get it down.
  18. Definitely me. I'm on usually from 4pm PST to 10pm (or 11 when I feel daring aboutmy load at work)
  19. The big factor is from whom are these actions being carried out by. If it's not a friend Kage would be pissed and mostly likely swifcast a flare on whoever did it.
  20. I'm only an i78-79(depending if you want the accuracy or so) BLM. I've been told that I should be able to do Garuda Ex but I've been sorta afraid about actually trying.
  21. This. Kage has this dark inside want for it and so far the closest he's gotten is one of his best friend male Miqo'te carrying him on his shoulders. Close, but not quite.
  22. I quite remember saying you can hit me up for things if I've unlocked them now that you're on Balmung... Especially since we're in the best LS ever but you'll need me to actually unlock EX Garuda if we do that @_@;
  23. My FC is pretty much having this issue. I haven't experienced it since I haven't unlocked them yet but most of them can barely get into any good Garuda Ex groups.
  24. Like myself, Kage needs to get used to and familiar with people before he really feels comfortable towards contact. But once he's familiar with someone he really does crave that positive physical contact like one-armed hugs and pats on the head but he doesn't initiate it often (how can you not pat a Lalafell on the head. Perfect size for it!). With new people he feels out of his element and any physical touch except from friends would really startle him. It would rattle him for sure and he wouldn't know how to react and may lash out in some way.
  25. My favorite moment in this game is making friends IC because it's a daunting task for me both IRL and in-game. My RP experience is pretty low in general so I'm keeping it in FFXIV experience. This last weekend was really quite enjoyable for me but the best part was the beach party RP when I felt like I had an actual contribution towards some RP other than just having fun conversations with people by helping a friend out. Kage stared into the face of one of his best friends who had just leapt to make a lalafell-kabob out of him when Svara dropped down into the sky as our group OOCly said "Svara incoming!" Then I had to take my place after our group smashed Svara out of Steel Vigil to see if Kage was going to get impaled on a lance or not. It felt like I had actually had achieved something substantial once the arc was over. The process was rocky but in my opinion it came out well. Kage became more real to me than he had ever felt before.
