  1. I'd be fine with "friends list only" mail iff friend requests could: - be sent offline and it'd be nice if friend requests could also: - include a short (like 32 character) note about the purpose behind the friend request That would be nice. It would certainly make transfering things between alts easier.
  2. I agree that would be nice but I think the reason we can't is so bots can't mail us their advertisements. I still remember GW2... Yeah, the bots with their spam would be a tad annoying (it's pretty bad on SWTOR) but ffxiv is pretty decent about removing bots on Balmung. It would be a decent trap for them so long as there was a report spam button on the mail.
  3. The ability to send mail to people not on my friend list.
  4. My guess would be a third variant of the hyur race called "New Imperial" Since Ala Mhigo has been under imperial occupation for over 20 years now, we shouldn't be surprised to see Eorzean born Imperials.
  5. My buddy Desini and I will be attending this year. I know he's in your FC.
  6. I hope to make this a monthly endeavor if interest stands! We'd like to cycle between the three major cities to keep things feeling new per event! Scratch that I grossly miscounted my time!
  7. Uuuuuuugh this had to be at 8 EST today of all days....I have to get on a 20 hour flight at that time or I would join in a heartbeat. ; ; Will you be doing this again hopefully?
  8. Day: Firesday Location: Gridania The walk from the Bobbing Cork to Gridania was a pleasant one. The trees covered the sky with a never ending canopy. Every now and again a song bird would sing a little tune only to be met with is partner's response seconds later...I hope I lived here in my past life. Spending time on the roads here can make one forget about life's hardships. I came to gate marked with a yellow serpent with the words "Old Gridania" written underneath.
  9. Day: Lightningsday Location: The Bobbing Cork As I stood outside the Gates of Judgement, a light snow was falling over Coerthas. The armor Remi provided me did well in the cold. I'm not sure it's enchanted to ward of the elements but the helm seemed to of had some magick work done to it. It didn't keep me any warmer but my vision is undisturbed while wearing it. Something in Coerthas stirs an uneasy feeling in the pit of my stomach, something feral or primal...I'll be glad to be out of these lands. The winds begin to pick up as make it to Camp Dragonhead. Hunting parties composed of adventures constantly flow in and out of the camp, keeping it alive with activity. I asked one of them, a small lalafell mage, who ran this outpost. She informed me that Dragonhead was garrisoned with forces from House Fortemps and those troops where lead by an elezen by the name of Haurchefant. Heading south, the winds began to fiercely churn. I managed to make it to the First Dicasterial Observatorium of Aetherial and Astrological Phenomena (which will now be referred to as the Observatorium) before the light snow fall became a full blown blizzard. I decided to wait out the storm in a small but cozy tavern. The barmaid there makes a fantastic cup of tea. While I was reviewing my map, two midlander males where in a heated debate regarding fruit. I was too focused on my map to pick up the full conversation but one of them seemed very irate at the prospect of wasting fruit. The winds died down long enough for me to make it to the mountain pass that lead to the northern part of the shroud. I met a man calling himself a Wood Wailer at a tower called Florentel's Spire. I asked the wailer if there was an inn near by and he recommended a place called the Bobbing Cork at Fallgourd Float. I'll have to thank him later, the beds here are fantastic. Well it's been quite a day, time for a bath and some rest. -G'renn Tia
  10. Day: Windsday Location: The Forgotten Knight I asked Remi last sun about the cards in the box. He said they go to a game called "Triple Triad." When asked where this game is played he said, "Oh they play it everywhere but tournaments are held at this place called the Golden Saucer down in Southern Thanalan." When I told him that's where I was going to head to start my search, he asked that I hold off til the next sun rises....didn't give me much of a reason but after what he's done for me I couldn't rightfully turn him down. He greeted me this morning carrying a box which contained a set of custom made armor. I asked, "Why the armor?" and his response was surprising to say the least. He told me that when I was found, I was covered in not just my own blood, but blood of various beasts from around Coerthas. It might be a small piece to the puzzle but I guess I know how to fight....mayhaps the nuhn challenge wasn't that far off. There was one other item that Remi gifted me, a sword too large to wield with just one hand. He told me that the blade was his from when he wandered the world, seeking fame and fortune. I told him I couldn't accept something so dear but he insisted, said it kept him safe in all his travels and figures it will do the same for me. I thanked him for all he had done for me and told him the next time I saw him, I give him this journal...looks like I better find interesting stories to fill it with. -G'renn Tia
  11. Day: Watersday Location: The Holy See of Ishgard, various locations I decided to roam the streets of my current host nation today to see what the city had to offer. The Foundation seems to have a lot to offer for travelers and adventurers, with plenty of work being doled out from the Skyfire Manufactory and the hunt masters at the Forgotten Knight. The locals don't seem to mind the influx of visitors, in fact they seem pretty content with them here. The same can't be said about the Pillars however. This is where the more well off of Ishgard society resides. I hear their whispers as I walk through the Jeweled Crozier, suppose they aren't accustom to miqo'tes or any other races for that matter having free access to the city. There is also a massive cathedral here called "The Vault" which I'm told is home to the Archbishop of Ishgard...didn't bother walking up there. A small, wrapped package was waiting in my room with a note that read: "This are what I could salvage of your personal effects, hopefully they will give you some insight to who you are. -Remi" Not sure why the old man has taken a such and interest in me but I thank him none the less. The contents of the bag reveal little useful information...there's a tattered blood stained yakuta, the shredded remains of a turban, and various other destroyed pieces of clothing. There was one useful item however, a black leather box containing what appears to be some type of playing cards. On the bottom of the box is a small inscription that simple reads: "G'renn's deck" It's not a lot to go off of but it's enough. Smells like the midday meal is ready so I'll leave it here for now. -G'renn Tia

  14. "You could have at least let me get my drink" Jin said to himself with a sigh. He twisted one of the arms on his cactuar earring down, tuning the linkpearl to a secure frequency as he headed towards Hawkers Ally. "Ash! It's been too long! How's the family?" Jin said walking up to a clothing stall. "The mission was a set up sir? What's your status?" a female voice said firmly. "Oh I've been good, just taking a nice vacation in Limsa. Went to see where they make the boats too!" he said happily while browsing the selection of a very confused looking lalafell. "Oh you and the girls should come by sometime!" "Roger sir, I'll dispatch Maala and Mesa to the Drydocks." Jin was inspecting a robe, nothing fancy just made of cotton, "Tell them they can bring some friends and make sure you send them with some spending gil! Can't have a vacation without some souvenirs." he said shaking his head and returning it. "Understood sir, they'll be accompanied by the Battle Maidens and the Crimson Wolves." "Great! I can wait to see them again!" Jin said as he patted down his sides, "Oh and Ash?" "Sir?" "My luggage was lost on the trip over, I guess so octopi stole it from the ship. Be a dear and send my bag with the girls." Jin looked up to the face of a disapproving shopekeep. "Of course sir." the lady said with a small laugh. With that, Jin made his way to the lower decks to book passage back to the dry-docks to meet up with his mercs and, more importantly, his pants.
  15. [[ I'm so sorry for my lateinvolvement in this. It was a combination of forgetting and irl stuff. ]] Itwas a long fall in the rain from the top of the bridge to the cold water below. Numerous thoughts raced through Jin's mind but the one that stood out was, "Who set this up?" These thoughts were interrupted however once he hit the cold, dark water. He was breathless for an instant as the sudden temperature change shocked his body but being raised in the Gyr Abania Mountains, he recovered quickly. Jintook a deep breath before submerging into the salty water to search for the Elezen man, or what was left of him. He never trusted anyone a hundred percent when it came to business deals. "If this was indeed a set up and not a normal ambush," he thought, "then that corpse should have some sort of useful information on it." Jin's efforts were in vain however. All he managed to find was the coat the elezen was wearing. The pockets had massives in them but anything that would have been legible was lost thanks to the ocean. With a big gasp Jin resurfaced with the coat in hand. "Hello?"Jin said over his link pearl, "Hey all I found of the elezen was his coat. His body is probably fish food now." He waited for a reply but was greeted with only silence. "Must be some aether interference," he thought to himself as he swam the up the channel, heading to the Moraby Dry-docks. Apart from the ambush and the rain it was a pleasant enough swim. Seagulls could be heard overhead and the breaking of the waves was relaxing. Therain come to a small drizzle as Jin made it to the docks, his eyes adjusted to the sun breaking the clouds. "Hello? Mikh'a are you there? I could really use that satchel back." but still Jin was met with silence. "Looks like it's small clothes for the day," he said with a sigh as he made his way the ferry-skipper. "Excuseme my good man, would this boat be heading towards Limsa?" Jin asked to the back side of an old midlander loading a boat. "Sureis and ifin ya looking fora ride, ya can help me wit these here boxes." the man said is a pleasant enough tone. "Perfect,"Jin said happily as he began to load the rest of the cargo into the small boat. "I'maglad ya needed a ride son, these bo-" the man was cut off as he saw the almost naked miqo'te that was loading cargo. "Son.....were're ya clothes?" his tone flat and confused. "Lostthem in a bet I'm afraid, save for my coat here that is." Jin said with a laugh. Theold man let out a hardy laugh, "Gwahahaha! I see yer mates pulled one on ya eh? Well hop in and I'll see ya git to town." Jinlied back and rested in the sun, trying to dry off while mulling over the events that happened. He wondered if any of the other Wings ran into trouble and maybe that's why he wasn't having any luck reaching them. Maybe a syndicate member got information on what was being transported and wanted it for his own. Could it have been a setup from someone inside the Wings? Why didn't he just leave his bag on the bridge and come back for it instead of giving it to Mikh'a to hold on to. "Quityer day dreamin', were here." The old man said as he pulled the boat up to the pier next to the fisherman's guild. "Thanksfor the ride pops," Jin said with a smile as he hoped off the boat and headed up the dock. "This is Jin calling out to any Red Wings in Limsa," Jin said quietly into his link pearl. "I'm heading towards the Drowning Wench; if there's anyone here I ask that you meet me there." It was a nice day to not have a decent set of clothes, there was a slight breeze and the sun was shining brightly now. Jinmade his way towards the upper decks of Limsa, all the while maintaining a confident stride. It wasn't the first time he found himself walking through the streets of a major city in his small clothes. He attracted several glances and stares as he went through Hawker's Ally. "Ladies," he said with a smirk and a bow to a group of roegadyn ladies passing him by, his ears twitched as they giggled. Jinmade his way to a table in the Drowned Wench and sat down as he looked over a menu. "Be with you in a second!" said miqo'te gal that was working at a table behind him. "Hellosir wha-" she cut herself off as she saw her new customer. "Yesyes, a man in his small clothes," Jin said nonchalantly, "Please my dear, would you be ever so kind as to get me a warm cup of tea and a pair of pants?" "I-I'llsee what I can do," she said flusteredly. "Thankyou my dear," Jin said with a smile as he leaned back in his chair. He stared at the ceiling and waited for his tea, a nice dry pair of pants, and hopefully some answers as to what happened at the bridge.
  16. Hi everyone! I transferred here to Balmung from Leviathan about 11 days ago with my buddy Ragnar. I have to say I'm really liking the community here. It's great to see a living world as opposed to the "JOB LOOKING FOR GROUP, PST. I'm interested in RPing although I can't say as to what intensity I'm looking for yet. I've done RP on games like SWTOR and Asheron's Call but I'm trying the emote style now so if I don't talk to you please don't think it as rude, just trying to play the silent type. Anyroad I've rambled long enough. Looking forward to a fun time with you all! -Lon'qu Jin
