  1. You know, there is a LS on Balmung that would be perfect for you.... Perfect for people who fall through chairs? In all seriousness though, I am looking for a LS.
  2. I just want to pull up this point. Technically that's how it should work. That's not necessarily how it always works though. I haven't gotten deep enough into RPing on FFXIV to know with 100% certainty if it happens there, I would be incredibly surprised if it doesn't happen at all with a community that large though, but past experiences with LJ/DW RPing have taught me one very important thing... Some people simply cannot separate the IC/OOC line. More often than not those people in particular will use their character as their own personal mouthpiece. Which means that if they don't like you, they're going to go the extra mile to mess with you and claim that it's 'IC' to cover their arses. And that can range anywhere from one person persisting with it to a group of people joining in. All depends on the person doing the 'attacking'. Once again, not saying that it's always the player behind the asshole nature. Just saying that you can't completely rule it out. Roleplaying is a 'serious business' to some people. And heaven forbid if you don't follow their 'rules' and automatically adore their special little snowflakes.
  3. Or buy a "soldiery" weapon. At this point those weapons seem to fill the sweet spot for people who don't want to deal with the relic quests but need a stand-in for something better.
  4. I would personally love to do something like this. It would be an interesting way to shake things up, especially dungeons, and meet new people. Honestly speaking, it wouldn't matter to me whether the other party members were kept a secret a not. Nor would I care about skill level matching. I would be totally down with whatever happened to come my way. As for structure, I suppose it would depend on the activity and the group. I mean, speaking from experience with other RP places, sometimes groups need prompts to keep on track because they either fall apart with their own storyline halfway through or they simply can't make a decision on an idea. I am completely guilty of the latter on occasions. So, case by case basis? Really my only problem with this would be the timing for it. I know i'm in GMT so i'm clearly the wrong person for this by default but I do tend to have a strange schedule when it comes to late nights. If it was on the weekend I would have a little more leeway with my time but, something pushing 3am over here? (Which seems to be a trend for evening events) My ability to write in coherent sentences, let alone focus on a dungeon, has long gone by that point.
  5. Quick PSA. I have no idea if anyone on here has recently tried to add me as a friend or sent me a /tell. But, i've been getting a number of those requests lately. Mainly due to the fact that a couple of people appear to be 'seeking Roes' for whatever reason. Which is cool and all but, it’s a little confusing when things are appearing from thin air and you can't find the person that's trying to contact you in the first place. So, this is basically a little note to say that if you want to contact me ooc while in game, I would really appreciate it if you could send a short line saying that you're from the forums. IC walk-ups are still completely A-Okay. This is literally just an ooc matter.
  6. Interesting to note the time limit on that fight. 15 minutes seems a little short.
  7. Can't speak for the Halo aspect but on it's own? As much as I like the game, I personally don't think it's worth buying a PS4 over. If you have other games in mind then it's worth getting with them but, once again, personally speaking I wouldn't have bought a new console over it.
  8. So... This is less of a 'screenshot of something pretty'. And more of a 'screenshot of a glitch'. I don't know what it is about the Ixali place in the North Shroud but i've only had it happen there.
  9. Piikyo on PS4. Haven't played it in a couple of days admittedly, got distracted by FFXIV.
  10. Not gonna lie. Given the way the /hug and /slap emotes look like they're going to work, I just want to get together with lalafell and see whether anything changes to account for height differences.
  11. To save me reading it again, may I ask what changes? I only read that they are changing the BGM somehow. Also, I must be the only person who doesn't really care about the slap emote since we essentially had that already with /throw, but I'll happily check it out nonetheless and await for the first time I come back and find some random lalafel attacking my shins. Pharos Sirius is the one with the BGM change. Which hopefully means that the little choir sort of song at the very beginning will play the whole way through now. Syrcus Tower is getting guaranteed drops of Unidentified Allagan Tomestones/Oil of time from Amon and Xande. As well as Sands of Time from Xande.
  12. Personally don't care about the housing, although I can understand why people are upset about it. For the most part. Those Syrcus Tower changes though. Loving those.
  13. He does seem like a pretty cool guy. Can't say the same for his 'neighbours' though. And thank you. As unintentional as it was, I can see the skyrim-esque side to it now that you've pointed it out. Man it's been a long time since i've played that.
  14. So...I've been playing this game for months. Many, many months. And apparently i've never noticed this 'zombie' guy chilling in the desert.
  15. Fohcswys Ghimhwabwyn - Has along running habit of eating spoiled food, she'll even go so far as to preference it when available. Her explanation for the strange liking is that it builds up stomach strength while additionally making the most out of every little scrap of food. Really it's just luck that she hasn't gotten sick from it yet. Asfar as personality quirks go, she has a habit of making her statements sound like questions. It doesn’t happen with everyone though. People she’s familiar with are fine, so long as they can handle her pretty blunt personality and occasional dark humour. Anyone outside of that group though? That’s where the ‘avoid a direct statement’ comes into play, it’s her way of being polite. Also has a mild fear of chocobos. With a ship you know more-or-less what you’re dealing with. A giant horse-bird with a mind of its own? Who knows what’ll happen.
  16. Just going to say 'hunter' class. Same thing though really. As for progression, it actually works in a similar way to FFXIV if you want to think of it like that. Vertical progression until the level cap and then it's about getting your 'gear level' up. So it's up to level 20 for the standard level cap. Gear beyond that point contains 'Light' which will then become your levelling system. Higher the gear, higher the Light, higher your level beyond 20. I believe it goes up to 30 via that system.
  17. Hello there and welcome. As already mentioned, Ul'dah is the biggest hotspot for RP but several people do wander around all over the place. As far as levelling goes, food is your friend and try to keep up to date with your hunting log. Personally i've always been a fan of saving the starting side-quests in the other city states for my main side-classes too.
  18. I just really like the design of the metal behemoth.
  19. Actually in the very same circumstances you can achieve the same results with: Leather Wristguards Hard Leather Wristguards Goatskin Wristguards I was completely unaware that those items existed. Learn something new everyday.
  20. Definitely interesting. Can't say that i'd personally bother with glamouring the majority of that list though. Now if they were to add something similar for gloves, i'd be all over that. Kind of disappointing that lalafells can 'cheat' their way out of those if they're wearing a body piece with long sleeves but the other races can't.
