I. Basic Info Characters: Fohcswys Ghimhwabwyn, Kikirin Kirin Primary character: Fohcswys Ghimhwabwyn Linkshells: N/A Primary RP linkshell: N/A II. RP Style Amount of RP (light, medium, heavy): Varied. I tend to match whichever style I’m playing against although that can be dependent on the amount of time I have left online. IE – I won’t start a heavy amount of RP if I only have an hour or so before I head off for the evening. I would rather put that sort of RP off until another day than leave it half-finished and potentially never return to it again. Generally speaking I personally tend to lean more towards medium/medium-heavy variety, although that tends to depend on how wordy I’m feeling. But as mentioned above, I can do light or heavy RPing should an interaction call for either of those options, in the latter’s case it might require a little pre-planning though. Views on RP combat and injuries: Per the standard response, I’m fine with most injuries so long as they’re at least mentioned beforehand. Minor injuries such as cuts, bumps and bruises are usually fine with just a heads up that they’re going to happen. Just drop me a line here or a /tell in game, simple as. Major injuries such as broken bones and worse require a bit of a discussion beforehand though. Those elements will affect the character on a relatively large scale after all. It’s going to be a case-by-case ‘we’ll see’ matter on that side of things. Views on IC romance: So long as there’s a build-up to it, go ahead. I’m not really one for the whole ‘suddenly in love’ trope but friends getting closer to one another? That I can do. Obviously I’d like to talk it out beforehand, just to get pacing down and such, but, yeah, I’m open to the idea. Views on non-romantic RP (family ties, etc): I’m entirely fine with everything, ranging from friends to enemies, to acquaintances and long lost family members. The latter of which would obviously need a little OOC interaction to set-up but the option is there and open. The rest of it can simply happen as it, well, naturally happens. I’m more of a ‘put two characters in a room and see how they go’ sort of person than the type that pre-plans friendships. Views on lore: I attempt to follow the lore as closely as possible, although it’s entirely debatable on how successful of a job I actually manage with that. If I need correcting on something, by all means please do so. Views on chat functions (/say, /linkshell, etc): /say is IC unless stated otherwise. The rest are OOC by default unless stated otherwise. Thank you for the welcome. Representing those GMT RPers. Admittedly the weekend sends my online time a bit screwy though. I will be sure to send you a tell or something if I happen to spot you wandering around. But I wouldn't say no to getting something organised here too.

I'm going to start this off by just saying that i'm terrible at introductions so, template usage here I come. Hey there, folks! I'm not new to the game of FFXIV, been at it for a while on Odin, but I got kind of bored with the rinse and repeat end-game-ish things and thus my adventure with a new character on a new server began. As far as my RP experience goes, been doing it for a couple of years on LJ and DW, dabbled here and there on forums, but i've never attempted it in an MMO setting. I've seen how it's done, sort of, it's just starting it that's got me stumped right now. I also have a vague idea on where i'm going with my character but nothing solid in terms of backstory yet. I've basically got character traits and that's as far as i've gotten right now. Anything else? Um. I'm one of those awkwardly time-zoned European players? So if anyone's around during the day i'd love to bump into you at some point. And everyone else of course but timezones. Bane of my existence, man.

Depends on the situation. If it's a conversation, like one conversation, I tend to ignore the day/night cycles. If it's more along the lines of an active, moving plot, i'm more likely to go off of the in-game cycles. Really it just depends on what i'm doing and whether RP sense works with the in-game time sense.

I would personally love to see some bad guys around. It would certainly spice things up a bit. Problem with villains though is that you're bound to get a bunch of people doing the whole 'my character will always win over evil' thing. Which could lead to OOC drama. I'm all for the idea but I would perhaps go forward with a degree of caution.

My priorities might be a little skewed but i'm more excited for the glamours and new hairstyles than anything else.

I tend to swap between two different servers at the moment to help with some FC runs. But if you see Khiu'a running around, feel free to yell at me and i'd be happy to RP with you.

As far as I know the only way to change name is to force it, could be wrong though. And by force it I mean, set up a dummy character on a different server with the same name. Transfer the character you want to change onto that server. And it should prompt you to change your name because you obviously can't have two characters with the same one, on the same server. I don't know whether they've fixed that method or not though.

I'm normally on for at least a portion of that time, depending on whether i'm running late or not.

I RP a lot over on dreamwidth so I spend a lot of my time writing as a specific canon character. It gets a little tiring after a couple of years so it's nice to come up with a 'free' character to explore certain character aspects with. I'd been in a bit of an OC rut for a while, having trouble with the visual lead to trouble with the narrative. I took a step back and put off OC building for awhile. Recently I was introduced to FFXIV, I want to say two months ago but I could be wrong, started going through the game on a different server and started to get inspired. Eventually I decided to just take the plunge, set up a new character on balmung, work around the actual in-game lore and go from there. I've mostly got the personality down by this point, I can be indecisive on that at times, but i'm still working on the background part. The personality itself is mostly built up around certain traits i've gotten used to over my many years of RPing. The background is going to be centred more around ideas that i've liked but never gotten around to playing. Long story short. The game in general combined with the need for a little RP freedom ended up creating my character in a way.

It took me a stupid amount of time to realise I wasn't staring at a rock.

Can't help on the FC point but I'm an EU player, specifically UK, so i'll likely be around to talking with during prime time.

And the talk is more to try and figure out how the connection would play into things than anything else. I like to keep a rough family tree for characters on-hand. Views on lore: Following standard RP rules, try to follow the official lore as closely as possible but allow for a few minor tweaks here and there if appropriate. If I get something hugely wrong I would appreciate a little note about it, I’m not the best at processing things at 3am in the morning. Views on chat functions (/say, /linkshell, etc): Whatever works really. Generally I won’t be IC unless I’m actually RPing, and which point I tend to use square brackets for OOC. Khiu’a isn’t a huge fan of touching, growing up with peopleconstantly invading your personal bubble kind of wears away the appeal of it after a while. That’s not to say that he’s completely against it though. Hewon’t flinch or try to get away. He won’t snap or try to fight it. Instead he’ll tolerate it, whether the action happens to be a hug, a clap to the back or something else. He’s a healer, touching tends to come with the territory and as mentioned above, he’s used to it. And it’s not as though he out-right hates touching others. No, his preference for avoiding contact stems from the factthat he’s bored with it. He’s tired of having someone hanging onto his arm, of having someone constantly in his space. It’s frustratingly normal for him to have someone there. For once he’d just like a little spaceto himself, a new personal bubble that he can actually have control over.

That makes sense. Unfortunately at the moment i'm in Costa del Sol, trying to get up to Titan. I think. I'll have to double check. But, you know, on the RPing front i'm sure there will be other opportunities.

Not in Ul'dah currently from what I recall, it's been a couple of days, but I could easily get there. And I can completely relate on the mistyping thing.

I will certainly ask you if I have any questions. And of course if I see you then I might try to hit you up for a little bit or RP. @ Asgarn - First off. Gaming, yes. Computers, yes. Biology I haven't looked at in years, i'm afraid. I was more into physics. Pretty sure I have a couple of text books lying around though. And i'm sure I will enjoy it. This slight incident aside. One person can't speak for everyone else after all. I'll see how things go and make up my own mind. @ Natalie Mcbeef - Once again it's fine, not your fault. So i'm new to the forums. Not so new to FFXIV or RPing in general but new to combining the two. That out of the way though, I made a character on Balmung a little while back with the idea of getting into RPing. Didn't really pan out though simply due to the fact that I had no idea how to go about getting started. I have the basic idea down and i've looked at a few guides but that's as far as i've gotten. Hopefully looking to try it out with a little help. Maybe get to know a few people to generally have fun with, gets a little dull running quests. So. Yeah. Hi.
