balmung Affiliates, Connections, and Associates
Missing Aria replied to Zeris's topic in Chronicled Connections
Well you definitely need to come by the After Dark Grill sometime, it's in the Lavender Bed's Ward 7 Plot 40. It's a steakhouse but the business is a front for people who have similar viewpoints as your character's and definitely our FC as a whole would probably be interested in anything he's willing to teach them about his experiences. Also, it is a restaurant with the grand opening right around the corner so he can always stop by for steak and a drink! On a more personal note, my character Missing (Missing Aria in game) would probably be extremely happy to add him to her list of connections. So if you'd like to hit me up sometime on Discord we can swap ideas for how to set that up. My Discord tag is Missing_Aria#5466 -
Finally leaving my comfort zone [Coeurl]
Missing Aria replied to RowdyRetroMoose's topic in Welcome Desk
Hey there! I actually know a few Coeurl RPers, I'll shoot them a link to here. I think right now they're focusing on content but maybe later on you guys could meet up or something! ^^ -
Hello! Fellow Altoholic here! I'm actually on Balmung but I wanted to take the time to welcome you to the game! It's a great setting for RP so I'm sure you're going to have a blast! I got my RP start on forums and didn't discover MMOs till later on either. When I came to this game I played till around... Oh I think 30 or so before I made an RP character and started fleshing them out, because the story can be overwhelming at first. So needless to say I think you're going the right route by learning the story and then fleshing out your characters. I will say that my policy with new characters tends to be to make a general idea in your head of who and what they are, think of what the major, important things are... Then let them tell you their little quirks and whatnot. I never told Missy that she's a tea addict, she told me that herself. So don't stress too much about making your characters yet, just enjoy the game!

Well welcome back to the game! I've taken a few breaks myself in the past, the longest of which being just before HW came out because I was going to school full time and didn't want any distractions, so I know how hard it can be to pick up where you left off. If you want some RP connections feel free to shoot me a message on Discord (Missing_Aria#5466) or you can drop by the Lavender Beds 7th Ward Plot 40 for random RP. Our FC has IC plot interests in Ala Mhigo, Doma, Ishgard, and Garlemald that tend to lean on the side of stirring up the people so I think your character could definitely make some connections with us. Of course if you're looking for an FC we can offer that too but we have lots of people who are simply connections without being members so no worries if you aren't interested in finding an FC. My main, Missing (no that's not her real name), is a spy who is actively seeking contacts in the Ala Mhigan resistance so if you want to meet up and RP something along those lines I'm completely game for it!

balmung Elezen Informant and Xaela painter
Missing Aria replied to Charce's topic in Chronicled Connections
Hello! So I think either one of your characters (or both) would work really well as a contact or possibly rival for my Xaela character Missing (No that's not her real name). She's a spy with a network within her current Free Company and she's always looking for new contacts. If you want to chat and plan some things out, or just meet up and role play to see how things go let me know! My Discord is Missing_Aria#5466, feel free to shoot me a PM! -
Well all of my characters are on Balmung but I wish I were on Mateus because your character seems very cool! Best of luck to you and welcome to Final Fantasy! <3 Seriously though, the profile was a joy to read!

balmung Ala Mhigan Engineer looking for FC
Missing Aria replied to Talaiga's topic in Chronicled Connections
Hey there! I know this post was a while ago but I thought I'd drop you a line anyway. The Veil is an organization that operates behind the cover of being a steakhouse. The main mission of the Veil though can be found on our FC here. I will say that we definitely have our attentions on Ala Mhigo given it's current state with the occupation. I think you could definitely find a home with us, and I'm sure we could make use of an engineer. ^^ If you're interested you can either drop by the steakhouse (Lavender Beds, Plot 40 Ward 7) or shoot one of our officers a message (Larswith Medwyn, Shady Individual, or Zavineau Ravalis). If nothing else you can always swing by for the RP or to chat! -
balmung Keeper of the Moon looking for domestic work!
Missing Aria replied to YifuBajihri's topic in Chronicled Connections
Shards, Zavin beat me to it! But yeah we're looking to have our grand opening at the After Dark Steakhouse soon (The business front for the Veil) and we could definitely make use of a character who wouldn't mind the work. We have a great group of people here and, from a more personal note, I'm a huge fan of characters that you build as you go along. I find those always work out the best. We have a bunch of people here (myself included) who would be more than happy to help build your character with you in any way you need. -
Vylbrand's Valentione's Day Masquerade Ball
Missing Aria replied to Missing Aria's topic in Chronicled Events
Anyone wishing to have a message delivered please make sure to submit them! ^^ You can request one while at the party if you aren't sure if your friend/loved one will be able to make it (or if you find someone you like there ) but it is preferable to have them submitted ahead of time. -
Vylbrand's Valentione's Day Masquerade Ball
Missing Aria replied to Missing Aria's topic in Chronicled Events
Yeah the time was our FC leader's idea for that very reason. ^^ -
Greetings! You are cordially invited to the Vylbrand Academy's Valentione's Day event! Please meet us at the Academy (Plot 2, Ward 3 Mist) at 4pm EST on Saturday the 14th of February. This event is a Masquerade Ball so dress in style! Those who are single and looking are to wear their best masks, nothing lures them in like a little bit of mystery. If you are happy in love or simply not interested in romantic attention then no mask is needed. Students and staff of the Academy will also be delivering Valentione's messages to those who attend so if your love is coming to the event with you, let us know and we'll deliver your personalized message during the ball! These messages can be anonymous or 'signed' as it were, platonic or romantic. Please fill out the form below and send your request to Marina the Grey ((PM me)) and we'll take care of the rest! Hope to see you there! ______________________________________________ OOC: Alright so, like the IC section above says, we're going to be holding a Masquerade on Valentione's Day. However, the only ones wearing the masks will be those who are single and interested. Or in open relationships, we're not here to judge. If you wear a mask you are saying that you are open to being hit on, asked to dance, being asked out, etc. If you would like to have a message delivered to your loved one/friend. Please fill out the following and PM it to me: These messages will be delivered free of charge, but only to those who attend the ball. If there are any questions please contact myself or Monty.

Personal Profile Character Name: Marina the Grey/The Grey Aria (Marina Grey) Gender: Female Race: Hyur Midlander Domestic Profile Civil Status: Resident under watch Place of Residence: Temporarily under observation by the Arcanist Guild, she 'resides' there if anywhere. Occupation: She fishes in her spare time, otherwise she does odd jobs for the Arcanist Guild. Free Company: Unsung Heroes Social Profile Marina is a bit... odd. Her emotions and speech patterns tend to fluctuate rapidly and she doesn't sleep. This might be because she was recently found hooked up to some odd contraption in an Imperial lab that the Maelstrom uncovered and cleared out. Her brain is a little scrambled but she has an advantage over the other test subjects (nicknamed the Arias for the project they were used in) who were rescued in that she remembers her name. Or at least she thinks she does. She's 90% sure it's Marina, or Mah something Rina. Either way the Admiral has instructed the Arcanist Guild to keep a short leash on the girl, both for her own safety and in case there's something dangerous going on in that brain of hers. Arcanists might know her from the guild though she can be found fishing on the docks of Fisherman's Bottom often enough to be considered a common enough sight to others in the city as well. Those who serve the Maelstrom may have been a part of the team that found her and her "sisters" or just know about her from reading files on the mission. Meta Profile I know quite a bit more about Marina than I've previously mentioned (more than she herself knows) but those interested will have to RP to find that out. I'm open to RP whenever I'm on, especially while fishing! I tend to be on late at night EST and during the afternoons except on Wed-Fri.

Hi Luke! First off the best way to RP is just to go out there and watch others and jump in by following their examples. I shudder when thinking back on how bad I was when I started and I'll probably shudder again in a few years when I look back on myself now. A good RPer is constantly adapting and learning in my opinion. Head to one of the inns and just watch if you're on Balmung or Gilgamesh. Chances are you'll find some RP. Another good guideline is to think of how characters in a book act and try to make your character into the sort that YOU would enjoy reading about. Just remember you aren't writing anyone else's character, just your own, so don't force actions on them. So long as you aren't deciding how other characters react to yours or what they do around yours you should be fine! Either way feel free to hit me up if you want to rp sometime, I'm on Balmung. -points down and her sig-

I. Basic Info Characters:Marina the Grey (Marina Grey) Primary character:Marina Grey Linkshells: Lominsan Society, Unsung Heroes Rp, USH Alliance Chat Primary RP linkshell: Lominsan Society II. RP Style Amount of RP (light, medium, heavy): Heavy! I learned MMO RP in a WoW heavy RP guild called the Cheshire Cats where even our guild channel was IC, so less than heavy in a guild or FC tends to bug me honestly. I can tolerate it if I'm still getting decent RP elsewhere but if it comes down to it I will ALWAYS choose the heavy RP guild with IC channels over one with RP as one of it's catch-all lures. Views on RP combat and injuries: Text RP during an in game combat usually frustrates me since I'm not always a quick typist. Combat-wise I usually let the on screen actions speak for me or leave the combat exclusively in a text/emote format. I have RPed injuries on many occasions, though mostly in settings without high amounts of healing magic (like Pern). In high magic settings I tend to RP flaws more than injuries. For example a character who had her body completely rebuilt with healing may not have been put back together quite right. Maybe she needs a magical amulet in order to talk now and if she draws on it too heavily she'll loose her ability to speak period. Minor things that are more flavor than actual issues. Views on IC romance: Love makes the world go round and game worlds are no different. After all, no one would have cried when Aeris died if we hadn't (at least on some level) grown to love her beforehand. In an RP setting it's doubly important I think because it helps make our characters feel more real to us. Plus it's adorable playing out those initial stages of 'getting to know you'. I don't like planning for romances since, while they may work out, they don't feel the same. My best in character relationships have all formed of their own accord, often against whatever I myself wanted for that character. ERP wise I don't like it publically... I personally feel that when you ERP in public you might as well be staring in a Penthouse letter for everyone else around you. Privately I tend to go with whatever my RP partner is comfortable with. Fading to black is fine with me but I also enjoy fleshing out details as it were. But on the same note it's not like we all don't know what happens when you fade to black anyway. ^^ Views on non-romantic RP (family ties, etc): Again without these things I find it's hard to get a real feel for your character. Family ties should probably be coordinated OOCly but friendships built in game make RP worth it for me personally. Even if my character is romantically involved with someone it's the friendships and regular RP that really build the characters. Anyone can RP a sex scene (even if it's badly done they CAN do it) but it's hard to fill those wee hours between dramatic events with small talk. Views on lore: Lore is important but I don't think anyone should have to turn lore-reading into their second job in order to enjoy RP. If I don't know something lore-wise, my character just doesn't either. Of course often even if I do know something in the lore my characters still won't and I will play them that way. That said I actually don't know quite as much about the Final Fantasy lore as I probably should, though I do make an effort to read up on what I can find or ask when I need to. Views on chat functions (/say, /linkshell, etc): Not really sure what this is supposed to be for but... I prefer all channels to be IC unless it's specifically an OOC channel. Party chat is a little different since you often party up with non-RPers but other than that if I say something and it's not in "(( ))" then it's IC. III. Other Info Country: United States Timezone: EST (GMT -5) Contact info: In game messaging or via Skype (Missing Aria) [glow=blue]~Special announcements can be found in the posts below~[/glow]

I'm keeping an eye out for your leaders but on the off chance you see me before I see you the name is Marina Grey and I would love an invite! ^^

I am very interested in this. I'm making an effort to get back into MMO rp and just recently joined ARR since it (by far) seems to have the best rp community currently. I love Gridania but Limsa Lominsa has truly taken my breath away. Out of the three it certainly immerses you the most. My character is Marina Grey (Actually Marina the Grey for obvious reasons when you meet her). Her story is a little strange so I'll leave that for rp discovery. Either way I would love to be a part of the linkshell. I'm not in a FC currently though I have been looking around. If nothing changes in that department then I'd be happy to help with the starting up of a FC.
