What's your MBTI Personality type? (Link to test here!)
Ritual replied to LadyRochester's topic in Off-Topic Discussion
Just in case anyone's a bit confused on their type or feel like they fit some other types traits to, this is fairly common, once you start learning about typology or personality typing in general, think of it like a cake, the top layer being are you I vs E, layer below is what's your 4 letter code, INFJ, ESTP etc, then it's learning what those letters mean and then lastly it's learning the cognitive functions. Everybody use all the functions, Ti, Te, Si, Se, Ni, Ne, Fi, Fe, this is why you'll see yourself dipping into other types as well, but it's your top two that say what your type is, this is why people in the same type aren't necessarily anything alike besides a certain way of thinking and acting. Also, try not to get too hung up on P or J, these are kinda added on people are a bit unsure why, Ps are messy Js aren't, it's kinda accepted that something like this is mostly due to upbringing as opposed to an innate trait. -

I've been getting ISTP - ESTP on every one of theses tests for the last few years now, even cognitive function test slap me with one or the other, it's easy to see tbh if enough time is spent near me. Bruh'a is INTP, Charlotte ISFP, Ludovoix is ISTP and Kayne is ESTP. -
They only marry them, from the description, it says reproductive mates are chosen from a lot, this I think kinda implies they just put their names in a hat and pull out an Au Ra female and males name, now they go make Snu Snu and I assume it's the same for the horses, though ofcourse a bit more of an Auri themed lot than the hat idea. So... do they know how to ride a horse or not? Oh gods, I am going to have such a hard time taking X'aela seriously... Depends on the... type of riding you're refering to... I'd assume the regular horse back riding is something they practice from an early age... the other kind? Well, as with all civilisations I'm sure there are a few... creative people lets say.

Nope, gotta talk about them Goro. "The Goro believe horses to be perfect beings, and each male and female, upon their coming of age, is married to a horse of the opposite sex. Reproductive mates are chosen by lots." I need to make a Goro just to see how people react when they find out I'm married to a horse.

It seems they're trying to probably make WHM a little less useful for speed runs, which is strange, (spoiler in case you don't want WHMs new moves spoiled.) They seem like speed-running moves to me, but they probably want WHM to keep the "pure" healer motif to and not have them too effective.

I'm curious as to why we have new job quests at 50 but we get our first new skills at 52?

They said awhile back that they didn't like the idea of people taking "dirty" screenshots, so I'd assume it's to deal with Miqo'te twerking and other things, maybe even a slight adjustment to hide the upskirt that happens to? I'm not sure on the last one but I think it's mainly the twerking.

I wouldn't say I'm overly excited for it, but I am looking forward for just more stuff, more levels, trials, dungeons, raiding all of it gimme it all!

Awesome info so far really appreciate it! Just wanted to clarify a few things about special forces as a whole and that's they are classed as elite units, not all they do is very secretive either, SAS members say SAS stands for Speed Agression and Surprise, these element were used for a couple of operations such as Operation Nimrod (Iranian Embassey Siege) and Operation Barras. The Police gave the Military control over Nimrod at 19:07 and the SAS attack at 19:23, using breaching charges to suprise the enemy along with gas and flashbangs, they basically manhandled all hostages and took out 5 of the 6 terrorists, the raid lasted only 17 minutes, with OpBarras they flew in to the middle of an enemy compound using Chinooks and fast roped in. DEVGRU (ST6) also somewhat follow the model of speed and aggression, even 1st SFOD-D (Delta), Americas most secretive unit follows these rules on some occasions, Marines and Rangers are also conidered special forces by the US Military. A special force is a group that undertakes special operations, covert and overt ops, Dragoons as clarified by Franz, being a unit specifically trained to kill dragons would be considered as a type of elite or special force by todays standard, by what I know of Bloodsworn with the information by Erik and Kale, the leves asking you to hunt certain people, I can assume they take on missions like this themselves, an operation that is given to an elite unit because maybe the leader at the time feels the regular people can't do it, could be classed as a special operation, making the force by default a special force based on todays definition. Liking the disscusion on the thread, sorry I haven't replyed for a bit, just been taking in all the info. Also it's fine if it goes a little off-topic, it could open up new thread ideas for other people.

Actually I had thought about the Dragoons, but I heard you can be a Dragoon by just killing a dragon, anything beyond that I haven't heard anything about them, though I would think they could be seen as SFs of Ishgard.

Are there any units within the GCs or a part of the city-states that are in someway equivalent to modern day SFs? Like the SAS, SEALs or some of the more common SF operators like the Marines or Rangers? Operators that are highly trained for certain roles in warfare and quite secretive about which unit they're a part of? I would think in a universe like this there may be something similar to our SFs.

Mental illness: A condition that seriously affects your behaviour, thoughts and way of life, examples include anxiety disorders, depression, aspergers. Playing one of these can come of as cute, but in reality it's quite the opposite, they are serious issues people need help with. Personality quirks and disorders however aren't considered mental illnessess, if anyone wishes to play a character with any kind of disorder you must read up on it, a lot of issues are completely misunderstood in society. Schizophrenia is still seen by some as having multiple personalities which isn't the case at all, I play a character with SPD (Schizoid Personality Disorder) and another person resembling someone with ASPD (Anti-Social Personality Disorder) and I've done quite a bit of research on the two disorders before I even really made the characters. I wouldn't go around saying "I have Social anxiety." when all I get from your character is shy Introvert, it's quite a bit more than that, I'm not pointing at anyone it's just an example, but I do hope if anyone decides to RP someone with any disorder, mental or physical, please research a lot about the disorder, if you decide to go with it don't pick and choose certain symptoms, don't go with ASPD and make them just a manipulative, lying, womanizer but feel guilty for things have all the emotions under the sun and all round a nice guy, that's two VERY different things and can come of as offensive to some of the more sensitive people out there. Just my thoughts on the subject. Also does Eorzea even have any classifications for disorders? It seems unlikely to me that they have psychiatrists etc, so it would seem strange if someone confided in me that they were schizophrenic when that term probably doesn't exist in this universe though I'm unsure.

I haven't got enough money to afford the gym and I was hoping to get fitter to, not really lose weight but just work-out and excercise, since I couldn't go to the gym I thought I was pretty screwed but nah that's not going to stop me. If there's any kinda people here who work-out and all that how would a broke dude like myself get fitter at home? Should I do 30 minute workouts daily doing two or three exercises for my arms, legs and abdomen, repeating the exercises ten-fifteen times like I've read? Or only say 30 minutes weekly? I have a decent amount of time to exercise so I'm not held back by too much work or anything. Also which exercises would you do for each part? Crunches for the abdomen, running for my legs etc. This thread is also ok for anyone else looking for something similar not just myself, if anyone else would like any similar advice I'm ok with you asking this thread's for everyone not just myself. I know it would be better to go on a workout site but I'd prefer to stick with this community because I just like it here << >>. EDIT: Quick edit to explain my goal, I'd like to aim for a Selection Course for the UKs number 1 Airsoft team, it's a scaled down version of the SAS selection, it includes many different physical and mental tests the mental stuff I'm ok with it's just my physical fitness needs going up in pretty much every aspect, I'm not unfit but out of 356 candidates only 43 have passed so I want to hit this hard.

Shooting someone in the ass at an Airsoft game and hearing them yell some obscenity usually puts a smile on my face.

Au Ra Character Creation Screens discussion!
Ritual replied to Uninstalldotexe's topic in FFXIV Discussion
You're dumb. Was that necessary? Oh wait, new account and this is your first post? Just a troll then, not worth my time, I'll just ignore anything you say from now on so don't bother replying to me. -
I'm curious if anyone has noticed any physical differences between the two clans or even the genders aside from the colour and size? Like the Miqo'te Seekers eyes being different and the Keepers having fangs etc. So far from what I've seen the Xaela have the limbal eyes thing going on though I know you can put that on the Raen, it's similar to the Miqo'te clans having different tail designs but the devs just let you do whatever with them.

Au Ra Character Creation Screens discussion!
Ritual replied to Uninstalldotexe's topic in FFXIV Discussion
A child in England is legally defined as someone under the age of 18, however our age of consent is 16 and even further below that it says that anyone under the age of 13 cannot under any circumstances legally give consent, so for arguments sake I'll stick to 13 and below being the definition for a child or a childlike appearance should resemble that age range. Meh, all this talk of it being 'disturbing', not necessarily in this thread or these forums but I've seen it thrown around awhile now, that the males are big and the females are smaller is something I really don't get, I don't get the idea they look childlike in any way either innocent yes I'll say that but childlike? They just look rather feminine, I like how the Au Ra are actually looking, though I won't go full SUPER SAIYAN like I've seen some of the males do, nor will I do any excessive customization but I do like how they are looking. Wish I could play around with the benchmark but I highly doubt my PC could run it and there's nothing for the PS4 that I know of but I can wait. -
Or perfect depending on your kinks.

In response to people taking Primal fights ICly...
Ritual replied to Ghostinthecat's topic in RP Discussion
My reaction to people asking me to help fight a Primal IC In all seriousness though, this thread is going nowhere and is accomplishing nothing, *disappears to do something worth while**poof* -
Login queues have never been a problem for me, the game has this weird "I actually don't care cut in line." type a thing, if I see a queue I just quit out of said queue and quickly choose a character to login with and poof, game loads and I'm in, always worked, I have zero knowledge as to why it does. Try it next time a login queue comes up, I'm sure I'm not the only one that can do it.

I don't really see this thread getting anywhere any time soon, all that has been established is that there is a split in how people believe something should be RPed, or how they perceive cultures, other people, basically what has been established is what everyone's talking about, not every character will act to lore or to their culture, not everyone has the same views, a vast majority of people are different, which is pretty much what the discussion is about. There is no right and wrong, these are just concepts created by society or a culture, individuals also have their own ways of saying what is right or wrong, saying that other people are RPing a Miqo'te wrong has no real basis, there is no objectivity in that and that is why discussions like this will keep going and going because everyone has their own views on subjects like this. This thread has a good potential of just becoming another hot-pot discussion like ERP, you can have you're own views, but lets not try to enforce these views on others, agree to disagree and move on, because this will just go around and around and won't end until people just tire of the thread until another comes a long.
