I played a couple of Miqo'te when I first started playing the game, I remember adding in mentions of the tail and their fangs etc, but it felt so redundant, I feel you should only RP actions that give your character well, character, if yo are going to add these elements into your character don't add them in all the time, make it a quirk of your character. When they're stressed make their ears twitch or their tail sway faster etc, don't just mention these things all the time to reiterate your character is a Miqo'te because I can see that. I play an Elezen now, he's not a tall snobby person, he has traits of Schizoid PD and is a hunter/carpenter type, if you got to know him however, you'll notice he uses his keen eyesight to analyse characters outfits and demeanour so he can paint a picture of them in his mind. These can just be given to a Hyur, but the issue is there really isn't any major difference between Hyur/Elezen at all, except maybe that I was told Wildwoods discriminate against Duskwights and everyone I've seen RP completely ignores this, I know it's not nice to go around discriminating against a player base and I'm not saying we should, but why should we care about the minor details of emoting things about your races when 1. We can clearly see you are said race and 2. It's so easy to handwave away all the lore background to your character by saying, "My family was different." that there is no longer a reason for the Miqo'te to act tribal or the Elezen or any of the races to act a certain way? Not to mention people have varying ways of RP so again there's no point in caring to an extent unless it's severely negatively affecting you.

You're a beautiful man Warren ; ;.

^ Both servers are active, though from my experiance Gilgamesh is very FC RP based and Balmung is a lot more public and easier to find, Balmung is the harder one to access though the RP is a lot more readily available.

If my cat could rant she'd probably say how much she hates me for getting a laser pointer at Christmas, best thing ever watching your cat fly across the room after the mysterious red dot.

I uh, don't get annoyed at things all too easy, I guess one thing that gets to me if I had to choose would be slow people, if you're elderly or whatever I don't care, but if you're in your teens or a young adult moving in a group walking down a busy sidewalk slowly then you just stop dead for no other reason besides your phones or to talk WTH!? Why!? Move! It's worse if you have a bus to catch or you're meeting someone, it doesn't sound like much but that gets to me.

It is ridiculous that it is still blocked, tried all day today and yesterday and nothing, never opened once.

If your character's very close friends got into a fatal fight...
Ritual replied to g0ne's topic in Character Workshop
Ludovoix has a problem with contacting his emotions a large portion of the time, they're sporadic and random to him, watching his friends fighting would initially not achieve any connection with him, though his logic would dictate to him that because they are his friends he should get involved. I'd imagine he'd try to calm them down, though it wouldn't be in an emotional sense, if a friend died in the altercation, he wouldn't feel anything until later on when his emotions decide to show, then it just depends on the situation he's in at that given time as to what his reaction would be. -

The Moon hung in the sky watching eerily over the The Black Shroud, the Wildwood known as Ludovoix, crept through the forest, trying to keep silent, as he observed his surroundings. All was quiet, even the birds slumbered leaving the only noise to be Ludovoixs footsteps and the sounds of the West Vein river which ran through the Central Shroud, breathing deeply, he could smell the petrichor in the air as he knelt low to look at some tracks in the still wet dirt. Ludovoix preferred to hunt at night, he enjoyed how solitary it was compared to the day, with all the adventurers running around, standing to his full height and adjusting his ever present bow, he turned at the noise of footsteps behind him. A person was walking towards him, clearly a male Highlander, judging by his large build and height, though his height didn't match Ludovoixs, he did come close to it, his maroon coloured hair swayed slightly in the breeze, emerald eyes creasing, as he smiled at Ludovoix. "It has been too long Ludo." came the Highlanders gruff voice, he stood before Ludovoix, wearing standard Hyuran garb that you see on most adventurers, Ludovoix nodded slightly greeting, giving him a small smile, "True, it has Hoenheim." motioning down the path, they walked together across the bridge over the West Vein river, towards The Bannock. "You're becoming like a bloody ghost you know, I see you in the corner of me eye in Gridania sometimes, so I turn to say hello and poof, you're gone." Hoenheim smiled greatly, turning his head towards his friend, mirth evident in his tone, "Yeah, I am becoming more of a recluse nowadays, something I am actually quite enjoying if I'm honest." came Ludovoixs reply, sounding disinterested as always. "Now don't be lying, I've seen you hanging around with that young Hyuran lass." Hoenheim teased, Ludovoix stopped in his tracks looking baffled, a sight rarely seen, he looked to the Highlander with a creased brow, "What?...." then realisation of who he must've meant came to mind. He shook his head, the ghost of a smile on his lips, "She's just a friend Hoenheim, trust me on that.". Hoenheim gave him a taunting wink as they continued walking, staying silent until they made it to The Bannock. It was empty, the guards having returned to Gridania and the Lavender Beds for rest, after a long day of training. A quick look at the fire-pit, showed the wood was clearly still wet from the downpour earlier, the two each took a seat on a tree stump and they turned to face each other. After exchanging the usual pleasantries of how each of them were and so on, Ludovoix told him about his recent travels to Ul'dah, which resulted in more teasing from Hoenheim, seeing as Ludovoix in the past, was fairly outspoken about his distaste for the city-state. All the while the pair were unaware of the pack of Anole closing in around them, hidden by the forests foliage and shrouded in the darkness of the night. The beasts burst forth from their positions surprising the two, Ludovoix cursed himself for dropping his guard, as they both stood to attention. Ludovoix pulled the bow from his back and quickly nocked an arrow, he pulled the string back and anchored the arrow beneath his chin, even if he was the only one with any training between the two, Hoenheims strength more than made up for it. Keeping his left arm straight, Ludovoix kept switching between targets, locking on to the one closest, the beasts snarled and snapped their teeth at the men, clearly hungry. "Since when do Anole stray so far from their nesting grounds?" wondered Ludovoix aloud, he kept calm, breathing evenly and trying to think of ways out of this mess, five pairs of dirty yellow eyes glared at the men, each pair bringing a razor sharp set of teeth. One of them leapt at Ludovoix and he released his arrow straight into the beasts mouth, it pierced the back of its throat, as the Anoles body fell to the ground and slide in the mud, but before he could nock another arrow, another of the pack charged at him. Ludovoix swung his bow like a makeshift bat, striking it across the face as the other came at him, the last two advancing on Hoenhiem. The Anole tried to jump and kick at Ludovoix with both its feet, he dodged to the left, but one of the beasts claws tore a scar across his cheek, he sucked in a breath at the stinging pain as the it came at him again, not giving him a chance to nock another arrow. The creature opened his jaws wide and Ludo held his bow sideways, when the Anole snapped at him he caught the bow in his mouth, Ludovoix pushed against the beast, backing him up slowly, the Wildwood scowled at the creature, eyes burning like Ifrits flames with anger. Hoenheim sidestepped to the right, the Anole that charged him went straight past him and tumbled into the fire-pit, knocking over the left over stew from what must have been the guards lunch earlier in the day. As it scrambled to get up, the second Anole attacking Hoenheim didn't fall for his sidestep and landed the attack that Ludovoix had barely dodged earlier, knocking the Highlander to the ground. Hoenheim cursed his luck, as the Anole stood on his chest, pinning him to the muddy ground, Ludovoix looked over to his friend, it was then that he truly panicked, he twisted the bow sideways, causing the beast latched onto it to topple over, the Anole standing atop Hoeinheim glared down at him, not noticing Ludovoix pull an arrow from the quiver on his back, using it like a make shift knife, he drove it into the side of the beast, making it yelp in pain and back away. Holding out a hand, he helped Hoenheim back to his feet and they ran for the safety of Gridania. (I had decided to post this awhile ago, but I just never got around to it, I figured now that I'm quitting RP I may as well post it. Goodbye all.)

I just felt like posting a quick message, I'm not planning on killing anyone nor am I going to rape anyone, whilst I'm not too bothered about killing as it depends on the victim for me, however I find rape deplorable and disgusting whoever the victim may be. Anyway thank you all for your replies, .

Honestly there isn't much you can do except try when it's not peak times for people to be playing, I recreated a character and it took me 3 days to finally get him in, it had to be after the update on Friday I think so no one was on really. Honestly as I said there isn't much that I know of that can be done. Sorry about that though it's a bummer really.

Hello there! I hang around on Balmung with my two characters Siegfried and Charlotte Tiln also Keepers of the Moon, their Miqo'te names are Bruh'a and Catra Buremi. I do some heavy plot stuff but mostly just have a good time with casual RP, feel free to send me a friend request if you want to.

I have read through the RP handbook, and I obviously think certain groups have their own set of rules but what are the general rules that pretty much all RPers will follow? I got to thinking about this when I read in the handbook about RPing as a murderer and people not liking when their character is killed, well if the murderer or anything like that say a rapist. Comes up to a PC and says, "X rapes X", or "X kills X" with no agreement of the RPer being affected, is that character now terminated? can they no longer RP that character? Or is it generally accepted that something like that is bullshit and shouldn't count? Other things like swearing, how much is acceptable? Are any words basically forbidden? That kind of thing. Is thievery even a thing? Walking up and saying "X steals X shirt." do they literally have to take said shirt off? I'm still new to RP and I wouldn't want to, do something that is generally looked down upon in the community because I'm just starting to really get into different plots and meet friends, alienation would be a bitch tbh. I'd just like to know peoples opinions on this, are there "unspoken" rules of RP that everybody is generally asked to follow? Is it a free-for-all until you get in with a group of people? Thanks in advance for any replies! -EDIT- More rules I just thought up, things like coffee, or chocolate, if they are mentioned in the game then cool beans but what about things that aren't mentioned? Like eating Sherbet Lemons, just a sweet but is it weird to have them in the game? Character capabilities? I understand you can't god-mod but what about smaller scale abilities? Stupid things like breaking walls with your fist or whatever is that seen as kinda stupid?

I can't help but I just wanted to say that you're very well spoken.

The Miqo'te are a tribal race but only the Seekers of the Sun are, I believe they are split into 26 different tribes named after animals don't quote me on that though, the Keepers of the Moon are a more solitary race, the max families together if I read the lore correctly is only 2-3-4 max. I will edit this post I can't read your story extensively just yet I'm in the middle of something, I will get back to it though.

Hello there, I am a brand new RPer and whilst I haven't done much at all till the 14th, just the community on this site shows me that the RP community is an accepting and brilliant group of people, you'll have fun RPing with them that I'm sure of.
