  1. Funny story... I was trying to make nachos, but accidentally spilled my beer into the pot of cheese...
  2. East-coast highways only let you exit once every 20 miles. So you're pretty much stuck once you get on. Unless you're going through a city. At that point it's a trade off between highway traffic jams, or inter-city gridlock. {edit} As an example, here is Philadelphia's archaic road map https://www.google.com/maps/@39.9515274,-75.1640811,15z And here is Los Angeles. https://www.google.com/maps/@34.0541362,-118.2448739,15z See how much more 'square' LA is? Much easier to navigate.
  3. Time for the 3 o'clock supplemental coffee. Lest I be fired for sleeping again.
  4. More than double. Because as Germany, I have 33% less unit maintenance. Typically, I disable both science and timed victories because they are easy and boring. Culture & Conquest is where it's at.
  5. Same here. I typically play Germany though, so my tanks will run over yours. Playing Russia and going Order is also fun.
  6. I checked this morning but didn't see any for the past few months. I'm thinking that game is on its way out the door now. Sad, seeing how they hold the licenses till something like 2016 or 17. Means nobody else can make a LotR MMO until then.
  7. Well, the week is only there so we have something to do between the weekends right? And the weekend exists for us to wipe our memories of everything that happened during the week.
  8. Guys, you only have 2 more days to get ready for this weekend. Don't screw up! Also, this: I don't know why I'm posting this. The LotRO forums for Landroval had a new thread every day for people to post random bs about their day. Still waiting for that coffee to kick in.
  9. Being the person who's date was murdered across the table from her, I can say that this event was quite fun. What people need to realize is that both the murderer and victim had this planned ahead of time. He would die, she would be caught. I would -love- to see an all out brawl happen. All I'm saying is, do your best to mitigate drama and powergaming ahead of time.
  10. But when things settle down would you also love to be arrested for disorderly conduct for a day and fined a few hundred gil? This is the biggest contention with people wanting to involve those who play law enforcement. They mostly expect to walk away scot-free once things are finished. It is why I try to keep things from turning violent inside the walls, and push people outside so they can beat each other senseless without me having to actually -be- the police.
  11. People will -always- try to find ways to waste time at work. I never understood this futile war by management to block all distractions.
  12. Here's an addicting game to play while you've got nothing else to do: http://www.desktopdungeons.net/media/
  13. You still beat out Spears and Alexander @ 55 hours. So... that's something.
  14. Hah! You caught me. Lately I've been out grinding my relic weapon. I should start standing around the city once more.
  15. An interesting introduction. Welcome to the RPC. I am sure I will see you around Ul'dah eventually.
  16. That it is still up and running is a testament to how good of a game it was, and how great the community was as a whole. If not for the grossly outdated graphics, I'd be tempted to reinstall.
  17. You would be surprised how many veteran role-players got their start in the NWN community. I played on two servers over the course of maybe ... 3-4 years? The first being "The Guardian Chronicles", followed by "RoME" (Return of Middle Earth)
  18. That does look good. Once again I sit in a corner and weep for having no artistic skills of mine own.
  19. I just learned so much in so few words... Is there any love for JavaScript? XMLHttpRequest?
  20. One of our clients deals with the faxing back and forth of legal documents concerning powers of attorney, wills, and the like. They have an old Windows XP workstation running their crappy software to scan documents into batches of *.tiff documents. Years ago, someone wrote a chain of VBScript files that will copy these *.tiff's between computers, combine them into one PDF document, and upload it to a website database via FTP. These scripts are poorly written and constantly create/delete folders off C:\ based on the user's profile. When they decided to change user accounts, all of these scripts broke. And now we have to fix them.
  21. I am a "Network Support Engineer" which is just a fancy way of saying "Help Desk". And you don't want to know about my day(s).
  22. Personally, I don't see why not. I'd imagine they would need to be specially prepared by someone with the know-how. Based on what I've read, it would take many generations (or hosts) of acquiring knowledge before they actually become useful.
  23. The way I've heard it explained is that it's not really a soul trapped in them, but the essence of someone's experience that rubs off onto it as they carry it, and then the combined experience of everyone who's carried the crystal helps the next carrier to learn what they already did at an accelerated rate. It's like swallowing the cliff-notes in pill form before having to go take the test.
  24. I'll sign up and represent the Sworn. An explosion would certainly catch their interest. I will be working late, potentially 7 or 8pm CST. I'll let you know if I'm held up longer. {edit} And you already have my sheet from before, so bonus.
