  1. So long as people keep in mind that the Sultansworn are not law enforcement (even though a few of them seem to be overzealous about arresting 'alleged' criminals). While the Blades can get away with the whole "guilty until proven innocent", a Paladin should be thinking the opposite and never act without just cause.
  2. Crofte regrets being so passive in the past. Natalie wouldn't have blown up a warehouse or gotten shot if she took more initiative to lead rather than follow.
  3. Guard duty as always. Though if HoD is there again I will have very little to do. (This is not a complaint)
  4. Half-hour later, still open. 8:40am EST, just made my first alt.
  5. I just wanted to make a quick update about my request. I figured out an HTML / Wiki code hack to accomplish what I wanted with tool-tips. Here is how, for anyone interested: [[Wiki Link Here|Display Text Here]] This will create a wiki link that has a mouse-over "on hover" text box which shows anything you place in the title attribute of the span tag. In this way, I was able to condense my entire Relationship section by putting descriptions in the hover text and only displaying the names themselves. You can also change the displayed name of the link to whatever you place inside the span element itself. Hope this gives others some ideas.
  6. THIS RIGHT HERE... is why I don't use minions...
  7. I haven't bothered to level warrior at all, but from what I hear of others they have a larger health pool than Paladins. From a tanking standpoint, they do more damage but also have fewer mitigations so they can potentially take more. Paladins do less damage, have less health, but have more "Oh s#!+" buttons. From an RP standpoint, in as few words as possible, you can think of it as Barbarian vs. ... well... Paladin.
  8. Coalteque carefully tore the poster out of her copy of the Lantern the next morning. Tossing the rest of the paper when she was finished, she studied the likeness for a few more minutes before placing it on the top of her current pile of incident reports. As the day went on she would refer back to it on occasion until the face was burned into her memory. "We'll find him, Miss Altair." she thought to herself.

    Hullo

Hello and welcome to the RPC. If you are ever wandering around Ul'dah I am sure we'll see each other.
  10. Why Khit... you are giving off pheromones again...
  11. From the Trial of Jaxon Hawk: The court room looked very nice. All rise for the Honorable Justice Scales Room size and camera angles made it hard to see, but there was a bench up there. Spahro Llorn, Attorney at Law, surprise defense for the accused! A big thanks to "NPC" for letting us all be a part of their plot. I hope we can do it again soon.
  12. (( January 2015 )) Welcome to all new members and initiates. Things have been fairly vocal lately which is always a good thing. Membership is still open to any Sultansworn or Free Paladins who would like an invite.
  13. Following an extended scene after this... "What is wrong. Why are you facing away from me when talking?" Coatleque sat quietly on the bed in the private quarters behind Jameson's office. He had left her, called away on business at this late hour. It was for the best, she knew. The anger she saw in his eyes after her confession was unlike any she had seen in recent memory. "Are you entirely certain this little... whatever this is of ours... is entirely wise? For either of us?" "If you disagree, send me away my Lord..." She swallowed hard and could still feel the sting in her throat. Looking across the room to the mirror with tear blurred vision she could see the growing redness on her neck from his hand. "You confound me... You are steel-forged one moment, weak-kneed the next. I thought I could trust you..." Her thoughts were conflicted. Troubled equally by what she had allowed herself to do as by what liberties she had allowed him to take. Her breathing slowed and she whispered to herself. "Not again. This will not happen again." An empty suit of armor stood by the far wall seemingly glaring at her and for a moment she felt as if she was being watched. Accusingly even. "I want your love. But that is too much. We may have gone too far, Coatleque. We may have been a mistake." "You have my love, James... else I would not be here ...tell me how I can help you." Interrupted yet again, as they always were. He did not say it, but he needed her just as much as she wanted to help him. For all of his hatred and anger focused in his grip, he still relented when she did not fight him. She could not leave tonight. Whether through fear or blind infatuation, she curled up on the bed and awaited his return.
  14. Someone linked this. It was hilarious. I am sorry...
  15. hahaha, First ship of the new year. Misc Lalafell x Raubahn
  16. Thank you to the FC "NPC" for allowing me to throw unexpected feels into their characters' plots.
  17. She squinted at the sudden burst of light and looked up the shaft until her eyes adjusted. Surveying the top of the lift all she could do was shrug. "I'm a Paladin, not an engineer." She quipped. "As we cannot go down from here, I think it is safe to say we must go up." Coatleque reached up and wrapped her hands around one of the thick cables before yanking on it. Once she was sure it was secure she jumped and wrapped her legs around to begin her ascent. It was then that a gleam caught her eye off to the side in the dim light. Sliding the meager two fulms back down the cable she pointed off to the side where the maintenance ladder was attached to the wall. "Perhaps climbing would be easier if we used that?"
  18. Continued from here (which follows the post above this one) Coatleque turned the key slowly with bated breath. *click* The door to Jameson's office was now unlocked. Slowly she opened it trying not to make a sound. The creaking of the hinges were like nails on a chalk slate to someone trying to be stealthy. He was not in, of course, being out on some business or other. With just enough light from the windows and hall she tiptoed to the desk. To her it was a full four months years of wages. Nearly all she was able to save. Not that she had want of money - most of her expenses were work related anyway and would be passed on to the Palace - but this would hurt personally. She left the bag on his desk. One hundred-thousand gil, the full amount missing from his own account. With it, she left a note in her own writing so there would be no mistake. They had to meet as soon as he was back so she could explain. Letting herself out just as quickly and locking the door, she breathed a sigh of relief - though not for herself. She would not let Mister North take the fall for her own actions.
  19. What kind of stories has your character gotten into? Far to many to tell. She has gone from raw recruit to veteran Sultansworn in the course of nine months. If it's happening in Thanalan, you can almost be sure it has crossed her desk at some point. How has your character changed since you rolled them (Or if you have been here since the beginning, since 2013)? She was certainly not prepared for the responsibility that was suddenly thrown at her. Her faith and perseverance has been instrumental in keeping her on the straight and narrow, though plenty of rumors abound. The requirement of interfacing with the public has seen her become more confident when talking to strangers. What has been your favorite RP moment this year? Far too many awesome moments to pick a favorite. I'll just say that the Starlight Ball was the most fun recently. What was the most shocking RP moment this year? Natalie's death. Has your character made any mistakes? Got drunk, blacked out, and woke up to find Natalie executed a prisoner while she was under. What was the most surprising thing you found out about your character? How much others are depending on her. What relationships did your character build? Far too many to list here. The most prominent being getting to know Roen while Crofte was her jailor in the Palace before her trial. Any relationships that fell apart? Her relationship with Warren was sort of a whirlwind and is still quite strained. What was your favorite large-scale event and why? Helping to clear Roen of her false charges because it got her foot in the door and proved she could accomplish her goals without crossing the lines of the law that everyone else is so eager to do. What was your favorite smaller-scale event and why? Putting on any of the Paladin Trials for new Paladins in training because she is helping to pass on her convictions and potentially shape others character development. What are you looking most forward to seeing in the future with your characters growth and story? Depending on what happens with patch 2.5, she may be out of a job soon. It will be interesting to see how her relationship develops further with Taeros, and her involvement with House Anduron. Natalie's death has showed her that she needs to start talking less and doing more, but this causes a strain as her actions draw closer to crossing that line she's been so adamant at protecting.
  20. Coatleque reached up and grabbed Evangeline's hand with both of hers. "Alright. On three, I jump - you pull. One... Two... Three!" Pushing off the floor she almost braced herself to fall back down but Evangeline's grip held, and she managed to get high enough to catch the lip of the opening with one hand. With new found leverage now added and the efforts of the other woman Coatleque soon found herself standing but hunched over for breath with no more light than before. The lift groaned beneath them once more and she froze in place trying not to breathe. Steadying herself with one hand gripping a cable she looked in the direction she thought Eva to be standing. "Alright. Now what?"
  21. As the light fades she groaned once more. "What... did you do?" She stood slowly while boosting Evangeline up and out of the compartment then looked up after her while squinting into the darkness in vain. "Despite your preconceptions of my personal life, I have not gained any amount of station through such favors. And yes, I can climb. The question is, can you lift? Because now I am stuck down here."
  22. Okay, sure, I could see that happening. You do bring up logical points. But I would still have to say it is abysmal writing because through all of these patches there were numerous times where Square Enix could have included some hint that there was true unrest growing among the people (not just the incited riots by the refugees). I just don't get the feeling that the people are ready or even able to carry out a revolt.
  23. She threw Evangeline a rather incredulous look before groaning to herself and crawling towards the middle of the lift. There she sat up into a kneeling position with one knee raised flat having her foot on the floor. "Just make it quick. And do not dare to read into this as if it is some sort of symbolism, or so help me I will drop you."
  24. Coatleque gave the woman's disbelief a mild shrug. "Mortals can ever only accomplish what the Twelve have allowed. I was not alive when Ala'Mhigo fell. Perhaps the city was brought into judgement for some great evil. If that is the case, then Ul'dah would surely meet the same fate regardless of your efforts. The difference between us is that I know I could never stop it yet I serve regardless, where as you believe our fates can be avoided and chose to strive against providence." She paused for a moment before swallowing hard. "Perhaps we are both fools then."
