  1. "T'would be a travesty to say it does not exist or is a waste of time when so many tales and legends are based on the principle. Of course I do believe. And I know that when this one is found, neither the empire, the elder Primal, nor death itself shall be able to separate what She has ordained to join." She crosses her arms and leans against the wall. "But once again the tone of the room has turned sour. When my mood darkens I remember where I have been and from the past depths of despair I have crawled out of. In those times it was my friends who uplifted me most. Tell me, what in life most uplifts your spirits?" (( 'your' was directed at everyone ))
  2. Time to divert attention... So... how about Alveo and Jancis? Osric and Kanaria? Kage and Natalie? Towering Falcon and half the server?
  3. Carbon Copy Well... Coatleque has the bigger pecks.
  4. Coatleque moved from the guard to this new interest and once again attached herself to his arm. "Oh, I agree, Ser! I have always been impressed at how you keep the Dravanians at bay. 'Tis most likely why the Empire turns their attention south instead! If only I could afford to emigrate... I've never felt so secure as my time spent here." She positioned herself so that while she focused on her distraction the door would always be in eye-shot. "Hurry Warren..."
  5. I see the Quicksand crowded with photographers just perched all along every inch of railing space, cameras trained on that pillar, tables empty. Waiting. Soon...
  6. If only they weren't eloping in Coerthas right now, they could stand back to back for a screen shot. waitwut?
  7. The Knight in the corner can't help but chime in once again, a temporary reprieve from her brooding. "This and the previous question are one an the same to me. For I allowed my love to put himself at risk unnecessarily. He was killed for it as I watched helplessly from a distance. Furthermore it was mine own outcry which led to the capture of the remnant of my village." "I have been cursed by Menphina in all things pertaining to love. And though I have tried to lift it, she has seen fit to make me her cruel joke to Eorzea. What of the rest of you? How have the Twelve seen fit to punish your mistakes?"
  8. Continued from here... Not sure who was present the night Sers Crofte and Castille were arguing over who should stand in front of the pillar. Neither one wanted to impose on the other. I recall someone saying it was "The most British thing they ever saw" in game.
  9. As Warren moved himself into position, the Knight began speaking louder to herself as if she was taking a genuine interest to the castle itself. She backed up a few paces and purposefully bumped into one of the guards. Turning around she excused herself. "Oh, begging your pardon, Sers. I should watch more where I am going. Oh, but you must be part of the garrison. I'm really not from around here, just visiting my Auntie, you see. I figured I would stop by and see more of what Ishgard had to offer in the way of sights." Her voice carried a hint of playfulness to it, completely uncharacteristic of her station. With that she made the attempt to cozy up to one of the guards' arms. Batting her eyes she continued, "I am ever so curious as to what you can tell me about this ... grand fortress. Are you two stationed here over long? ... " In the corner of her eye she saw Warren slip through the door in an instant. "Better make this count...", she thought to herself as she smiled at the guards.
  10. The woman left the inn and crossed the courtyard towards the medical building. She noted Warren warming himself by the fire but took care not to look his way. As she reached the top of the stairs she turned and placed her hands on her hips. Looking out over the fort she did her best impression of a tourist admiring the tower and battlements. She glanced to Warren occasionally just waiting for him to make a move. In the mean time she started quietly counting the stones in the wall to herself just to generate some noise around the guards.
  11. Coatleque returned to her room and set to work. First disarming herself of both offense and defense. Under her armor she wore a simple cotton shirt and shorts. Not very flattering, and did nothing to keep the cold out. Luckily she had prepared for this eventuality with one additional change of clothes. "Thank you, Master Kohu.", she remarked to herself. She was referring to her friend X'Kohu Tia, who was kind enough to craft her a comfortable yet warm set of clothes for just such an occasion. She donned these now with leather boots, then turned her attention to the vanity at the far end of the room. Sitting before the small mirrored desk, she stared at herself before once again taking special care to her appearance. The Knight sighed. Of all the roles to play, she had never thought she would have to go back to this one again. "It's okay... you're just a distraction. You can do this." Finally she wrapped her cloak around her back and fastened the clasp. Leaving her hood down for now, she decided to wear her beret at a slight tilt. "If F'Lierre could see me now...", she muttered as she headed for the door. She just needed to find Warren now and wait for his signal.
  12. She couldn't help but return his grin. "Why Ser Castille, you seem to have taken the words from my mouth.", she said as she stood. "Of course the ploy wouldn't do as well with me in full uniform. Allow me to shod my scale, and I shall find you outside when you are ready."
  13. I was kicking around the idea of a joint military operation between Flames, Adders, and Maelstrom to patrol the road from Ul'dah to Ishgard in an effort to foster trade between the cities. Problem is, I have no idea what to do along the way. It takes about 45 minutes to walk the route on a bird. Also, participants would have to be IC members of said companies.
  14. "Well...", she said leaning back in her chair. "Barring another entry port, you shall either have to ask for the key, or force the door. If you intend the latter then you will be needing some sort of distraction, especially in the broad of daylight."
  15. I would love to branch out to other areas. My problem IC is that Coatleque is sort of bound to the city by duty. She's really taking a risk just going off to Coerthas to help a friend, plus a diplomatic incident if a Sultansworn is caught doing something illegal there. Of course it's the danger that makes it fun. I actually sat in Whitebrim last night trying to garner some inspiration from the area.
  16. She watched his expression as he ate in an attempt to gain some bearing of his thoughts. "You said you did not recognize her. Yet you still seem troubled. Perhaps you did not have enough time to examine the body? So the question remains, was she the girl you sought or not? If you need more time then we shall have to gain entry to their make-shift morgue once more. If not then we should divert our efforts elsewhere. Either way you must needs be sure before we proceed."
  17. She picked over some of the fruit as he spoke but still listened intently. She spoke with a low voice to avoid attention. "It may be odd here in their own lands. All I have received from Ishgard in Ul'dah has been hostility. It does occur to me though that they are either hiding something, or believe this body to be someone of no small import. Perhaps they to are searching for someone?"
  18. She had no trouble sleeping in a strange place, odd as that may seem. With the weight of Ul'dah temporarily lifted from her mind, sleep came quickly and deeply. She rose at first light and made ready for the day. She drew a quick bath before dressing, applied the lavender perfume Tasa had given her, then set to the arduous task of deciding whether to tie her hair up or leave it down. A full bell later she arrived at the commons in armor and ready to depart. Procuring some bread, cheese, and whatever fruit was available from the innkeeper, she found Warren alone in the corner and joined him. "Ser Castille.", she said with a light smile. "I pray I have not kept you waiting. Were you able to sleep?"
  19. Anyone know how to link to an external image? Is that possible? Or do I have to upload everything to the wiki? HTML tag doesn't seem to work.
  20. Coatleque is like the unpopular kid on the side going "I'm open! I'm open!" that everyone ignores
  21. "Don't tarry; It gets colder once the sun drops away." The last words she heard till her planned arrival. And tarry she did not. Coatleque pushed the bird as hard as she dared, knowing they both would not survive if caught in the night. The weather favored them early on, however, which allowed for good time to be made. She stopped first within sight of the Gate of Judgement so both mount and rider could drink and rest. The sun had already began to hang low, and dark clouds were looming behind them. With luck the winds would change and drive the storm back or at least afford her more time. Luck, it seemed, was not on her side though. The second time they stopped just after crossing into Whitebrim province. Again they drank, but with rations this time. The clouds had long since overtaken the sun and left a dull grey early evening gloom around the countryside. The chill wind had begun to bite now. Steeling herself, she pulled up the hood of her cloak and continued onward just as the first flurries began to fall. She arrived at the fortress on the front just as the sun would have been slipping past the horizon. The snows were falling steadily now as she rode past the threshold and dismounted before the stable. She handed the reigns to the stable keep with a silent nod and a few gil, then made for the inn. At this time of night it seemed the most logical place to find Warren, lest he had once again gone on without her. Her hunch had paid off in this case at least. She was glad he hadn't pushed himself too hard once again. After a breif but warm reunion, she made preparations for her room then joined him at a table in the corner. He told her of the progress made that day and how a body was found but not that of his friends. After brief counsel of how they should proceed the following morning, each Paladin retired to their respective rooms for the night.
  22. Nice to see you, and welcome to the community. Feel free to jump in more often! It's the best way to get your foot in the door.
  23. The Knight stood in the training yard watching the latest recruits spar. She held a folded letter in her hand as she leaned against a pillar. Next to the pillar stood a brazer of smouldering coals. Osric would do what he felt was necessary, and if he didn't want her counsel she could not force it upon him. At the same time, Master Krell knew his target was not in Thanalan, but had little else to go on. Or so she thought. She had time, but was unclear as to how much. She tossed the letter into the brazer and watched as it shriveled into ash, the remnants of the seal sputtering as the wax drooled over the coals. Her mind was set. She had made a promise and intended to make good on it. Continued here...
