The Face of Mercy [Closed, OOC comments welcome]
Oscare replied to Berrod Armstrong's topic in Town Square (IC)
Oscare simply looks at the Yellowjacket crowd. Not today. Oscare pop open a smoke bomb to cloud his escape, activating his wristlet to take a teleport away. Technology helped the man every second. Several pairs of civilians were shot dead today, and none of it even budged the man's conscience. All that mattered to Oscare were two things; his company... And her. -

Oscare was completely unfazed by the scene. People he didn't care about, dead in front of him, it was all normal to.the hunter. He disregarded the body, looking for the elezen woman. Nothing bothered him. -

Oscare studied his position. A cliff behind him, and a bunch of lifeless zombies in front of him? His pistol was still cooling off, too hot to be of effective use. Desperate times called for desperate measures! Holstering his firearm, Oscare retrieved a snall black device from his belt with a WICKED smile on his face, violet eyes beaming at the coming crowd. "It's time for a meat shower." He says meekly, throwing the grenade at his undead allies. A loud pop, and then a fireworks of red and orange ravages the land. Oscare adjusts his shades to defend against the new burst of light. -

"What the?" Oscare gasps in pure terror, looking around at the new arrivals. "Hah! Cheap tricks!" He studies each and every face carefully -- his comrades. Fighting himself was easy enough, but this was an all time new low. "Hmph. Well, I always wanted an excuse to shoot Camy." He brandishes his pistol again, taking a look at the pile of corpse. The red-haired highlander -- more than likely Berrod. The blue armored midlander remained a mystery, but that didn't matter. He shot once, twice, thrice, and four time at Camy, feeling a little relieved. "Hooh! That was good," He let out, taking another far jump back to let the pistol cool down from so much shooting at once. He keeps his eyes trained on Burg and B'ren, however. It was time to play the defensive. -
Aha! Okay, we shall be ready! Aye aye, cap'n. Yas yas.

What's the difference between a SMN and a SCH? Nothing if they're both sexy as fuck highlanders.

I thought we did, but I never heard from anyone afterwards. DX I'm not sure if I missed a memo or something, which may very likely be the case.

"Speaking of," A cool, commanding voice intruded the conversation. From seemingly nowhere, a midlander of dark, ebony skin appeared. He had a good posture -- chin up, standing completely upright. He had no details on his facial structure, not a speck of hair or the tiniest inch of a scar. Very smooth, very neat. He had a dark gray band painted across his steel-colored eyes -- a pattern familiar to both of the girls. The otherwise short midlander continued to speak, ruffling the tux he donned. "I have the deal for you two ladies." He smiled, even his tone and emotions were nice and smooth, no rigidness in them at all. It's almost like he had rehearsed this act before! "Right now, for only a mere price of ten measly gil, you get not only a free ride on two very attractive highlanders," he paused, raising a hand. He summoned forth two highlanders -- one incredibly tall, whlist the other was short. Tall guy had gentle brown eyes, and pale skin that one would almost assume never hit the light of day ever. The short highlander could easily be confused for a midlander if he weren't so thickly built like the pale mate, but nonetheless offered a smile to the girls and winked an amber eye, his red one trained on Aya while his right hand held his dark-toned shoulder. "to Mr. Tarot's place, but you'll get the show of your lives right here in the evening. Trust me, this is a deal you'll never get before." The midlander seemed to be genuine enough. "Ain't it true, Volan?" The pale highlander -- who seemed to have preferred Crofte -- speaks up. "Yup yup! I reckon tha's mighty true, Rodgers. These gals don't kno' was comin' to em." He replies, assuming a confident stance among his thick accent.

I'm back, kiddos. And I have another challenge. That's right. This time? It's CLASS/JOB SWAPPING TIME. So we all kind of sort of use a class and-slash-or job that we base our characters with, yeah? Like Oscare is a mix of many non-magical classes, but not any jobs (with the exception of WAR). What if your character never became that chosen classes/jobs, and went for something else, possibly completely different? This idea kind of struck me when I got SMN to 50. So my purposal is simple this time. Choose your character, change their jobs/classes, and write a short story about it! I'll post mine when I has compoooter acezz

Oscare stares blankly at the other Oscare. "A failed copy of perfection? Just for me? You shouldn't have!" Oscare mocks, taking a single step back before take a full hop backwards and pointing his pistol at the illusion. "My name is Oscare Iono -- Ex Imperial sniper, Storm Captain, amd member of the Astral Agents. I will not tolerate you mock my name or the name of my companies. So I'll let you know two things." Oscare fires once. "I wont let you past us anymore," ... he fires once more. "And you could have at least made me sexier -- don't forget the shades!" -
The SCH motto; "Don't hesitate, Lustrate!" Seriously. Lustrate is your "OH SHIT THINGS ARE HAPPENING" panic button, like with WHM for Benediction (though arguably, a lot of people would argue how Lustrate is better, but that's a different subject). Don't hesitate to use it. At all. Secondly, Energy Drain and Aetherflow are heavenly if you need MP on the dot. Franz explained better than I can. Learn how to be comfortable with your pet -- and manage them as of thet were you. Eos and Selene are the best things ever. A lot of people just SiC them since they have pretty good AI for the most part, but experiment! I can't stress this enough for ACN jobs, but. AETHERFLOW os your best friend. Try to not be overzealous with Succor or Adloquium, they're MP sinks and don't heal for very much, even if they have a great shield bonus. You'll run out of MP, as you eventually run out of Aetherflows.

The Lore Train is a pretty awesome source of all things lore. I highly reccomend it for ANY lore questions.

Oscare points his gun to the sky, his eyes following the point of the pistol. He lets the machine fall again, but Oscare's gaze still trained skywards. "You know. Tonight would be a really beautiful night," he crosses his arms, the gaze finally falling upon the female elezen with a frown. "but I think you're ruining the scene." He snaps a finger before replying in a sharp tone. "So I'll give you one last chance, skedaddle or else I'll make sure you regret ever coming and ruining the scene. Oh, and make sure you take the stupid clouds with you, they're clogging up my theater." -
If highlander/highlander, or highlander/roe, or roe/roe don't bear hug when they hug each other, SE will lose points on the broscale.

Rogues as Opposed to Thieves: Impact on Flavor and Tangential Impact on RP
Oscare replied to Melkire's topic in RP Discussion
It seems to me that the developers would rather just call it rogue over thief, simply to prefer a more linear and direct, recognizable name. Sure, common sense dictates "oh, thief is just another name for rogue, which is a term I do recognize very often in the MMO universe", but I think they were more thinking "ah, that's rogue, a good old classic DoT based class". You also have to realize that this game is also going to OTHER countries, and who knows what THEIR input is on thieves as opposed to us who thinks "oh it's no big deal to call it thief". I think I agree with Berrod most. If we just accept it as for what it is and with an open mind, we'll come to terms that it's not the end of the world over a silly name of a game class. Besides, when has OOC stuff ever stopped us roleplayers? Besides, you know, lore. Which isn't exactly OOC, kind of. No matter what their reason is, there's nothing we can do to stop it. I may not agree with the name; but hey, as long as it's fun to play!
