1. Well, this was more of a test/interest check run if anything to see if it gets the popularity to host it more often. If things go well, or even better than anticipated, we'll discuss that idea. :3
2. Questions/concerns/and-or suggestions can be posted as a reply to this thread as well, in case there's something you'd like to add or need clarification on.
3. Highlander age of consent: honey people are already looking at you as soon as those hormones give you the highlander shape Anyway! I dunno, usually ages of consent in fantasy races is kind of a weird thing. Some races age faster/slower than others. I assumed highlanders age a little faster than midlanders -- who age hella slower than elezen. Kind of a floppy subject -- I go with the consensus of 16.
4. Eorzea is the land of jolliness and happiness. Join your fellow folks for a tales and experiences that transcend the stars themselves! Join Jancis Milburga and Oscare Iono in sharing your stories or passing on the ideas you hold true to your heart. "My grand point in preaching is to break the hard heart, and to heal the broken one." -John Newton Event begins at 4PM EST, at Middle La Noscea (x16, y17). People who need transport (characters that started in Gridania or Ul'dah) may contact me in advance to figure out who to get you here! The date is November 29th (Saturday). If the event goes well, we shall host the story circle the last Saturday of every month. So far, the intended schedule is as follows; Jancis and myself will start with a short prelude -- followed by a Blessing of the Twelve by the both of them. After this, we will have six-to-eight (depending on how long the stories are taking! Don't let this phase you, make the story as long as you wish!) participants of any kind who would like to share a story. On a first come, first serve basis, participants will contact OSCARE on the forums. If time permits at the event itself, we will take more volunteers by in game tells directed to OSCARE IONO. Participants will be put into (WordPad) a queue for the hosts to refer to at the event! Stories can be about anything you like. Humorous, serious. Preaching an ideal -- or just sharing a story about a scar or your best friend! Anything goes! Afterwards, we'll have a short session of post-event RP where Oscare will be generous enough to cook and bring drinks for everyone there... or make his best attempts to. Just one rule! Be respectful when someone is sharing a story. Feel free to use /em and /s, but don't flood. Alright! I hope to see you all there!
5. Lust vs Chasity 2. Oscare is very excellent at restraining and even better at hiding it, byt it's definitely there. He wants what he can't have most of the time, too. Gluttony vs Temperance More on the 4 side. He's a hunter, he HAS to be resourceful. He can be a little lenient if the situation allows for it. Greed vs Charity More on the 8 side. He gives up pretty much anything except two things in particular. Things stopped holding sentimental value to him, and hr doesn't even accept pay at his jobs anymore in his own pursuits of interest. Sloth vs Diligence 9. Oscare is determined and HATES slackers. Wrath vs Patience 1. This hunter is basically anti-humanity, sacrificing his own relationships and closeness in order to harm. He's hatred in a can. Envy vs Kindness 5. Oscare is okay with being nice, and he's okay with being jealous of other's closeness. He doesn't care in the end anyway. Pride vs Humility I think I kind of had to put Oscare on a 5 here too, because he's a mix of both in my eyes. He's got the humility to see things from all kinds of points of views and he KNOWS there's a good chance someone can match him in marksmanship, but at the same time, he boasts to be one of the best and takes utmost pride in everything he does. He sees himself as being better than everyone, though he's smart enough to not boast to that degree. He has the power to do anything if he wanted to. Does your character leans towards Sins or Virtues? The good thing about playing a sociopathic-esque character is that no one really knows. He exudes this sense of kindness, enough to allure someone into thinking that he's at least half a decent human being. But the whole time he's probably scheming about shooting your brains out. In other words, he's a good mix. Doesn't really lean on one over the other. Which sin does your character most emulate? Definitely wrath. He's got a 'vendetta to carry'. Which virtue does your character most emulate? Probably diligence. He's a hard worker, at the very least. Which of these Sins or Virtues do you and/or your character believe they need to work on the most? Probably lust! He's not particularly interested in people, so he thinks he should stop being attracted to some of them.
6. I'm south Hialeah, Florida. Also known as; Cuba 2.0/North Cuba. For a good reason, still EST though! We're also not burries in eighty inches of snow!
7. Nice to know that Samurai isn't going to be released when we just recently got Ninja. Going to keep my eyes closed for the gunner job since I want to be SURPRISED AND EXCITED, but Dark Knight shows a lot of cool promise. Odin... And insect-type primal. ;; help me now I can see my sufferings in those Extreme modes already. Still hoping for Geomancer, but I'm more excited for whatever gun is going to be. I'm actually kind of rooting for a healer gun job like Chemist, but we'll see how that goes. HYPE HYPE HYPE
8. PREACH IT. Poor Gridania, though. No one loves them. :< Tree Huggers....
9. I would certainly believe there are musicians and painters and tattoo designers out there! Not only are like 90% of the popular housing items support this, but I think Rowena's study would support the architecture theory very well too. The tomestones are depictions of art left behind by the Allagans of their arts, like philosophy and poetics (which is defined as the study of linguistic effects on literature), so obviously the Allagans were interested in more things than just war and advancements for war. There instruments, paintings, globes, actual tattoos -- I would definitely like to see more creative players. It'd be a pretty cool idea to toy with.

This certainly sounds like a fun idea. I'd so totally watch.
12. We need more archer babies. So I got another fellow archer. This is credited to Jancis!

14. Gopher selfies. (Disclaimer: That is NOT me, before anyone asks. ) Laundry puppies. Moshi moshi, hamster-desu!
15. I'm sorry but I'm fully convinced that the crafting in this game is way more of a raid and end game than the coils at this point
16. The goal isn't sex-appeal. Traditionally, a female ninja is known as a kunoichi, and were recorded to dress severely different than the regular male ninjas we know. They also had different choices of weaponry (the most popular weapon for female assassins are a single-bullet lipstick -- since no one would be suspicious of a women applying lipstick, she has the freedom to aim it wherever she pleases and shoot). Male ninjas were expected to dress completely from head to toe, however, kunoichis had an advantage to them; and damn right they used that advantage. That advantage was body appeal. ... so I kind of contradicted myself in which it is sex-appeal, but it's not just "LOL BOOBS" or whatever. ... the color discrepancies is a little weird.
17. There'd be no reason why they wouldn't mention it even if you didn't play those pieces of contents. Even if you didn't actually DO those quests, the game still follows its canon and assumes you did. Unless the player character actually physically reacts to that line, they wouldn't scrap it if you did or didn't live through those quest lines. NEVER MIND I GOT SHOT DOWN BY YVE. THANK YOU, FRIEND.
18. Did we just get swole shamed [sOBBING INTENSFIES] Seriously though. In FFXIV lore, horses are actually as rare as unicorns, and unicorns are as common as horses. I mean, I guess Eorzeans could use horses if they're clever enough in writing!
19. Honestly, if you didn't expect that, I would've called you crazy. A new class came out, who WOULDN'T flock to that first (except me, I'm probably gonna dodge ROG until about a week into the patch). Limsa was destined to just be a gigantic lag fest today, and most likely for the next week and a half (that weekend is gonna be hell). Also, the soldiery pay out is less, but you have to keep in mind that they modified almost all the prices to those items now. I won't say that it was really hyped, but it was within reason. I can see why some people can be 'meh' about it since there are some things that didn't make it in (ex: the zodiac quest seems to be paused? It may be because nexus was a recent-ish release and they want to give a crowd of people a chance to obtain it) and the giant clusterfuck can certainly be a turnoff. I'm kind of 'meh' about the i90 myth items being the new dungeon set though. I was kind of hoping for another really cool looking dungeon set, now I can confirm that I don't give a shit about BRD shirts this patch. Dem Shiva Extreme parties tho. And dat poetics bow. Yummy.
20. I MANAGED TO FIND SOME SPOILS
21. All I have to add is... that tome bow. dat. bow. yes
22. [1:16:35 PM] Alex: the hype is real [1:17:07 PM] Berrod: They really know how to do it. Rile everyone up today, and BAM, FANFEST TOMORROW [1:17:26 PM] Alex: the Shiva weapons are i110 too @_@ [1:17:31 PM] Berrod: The past two weeks have literally been FFXIV players flailing and screaming [1:17:39 PM] Alex: ^ [1:17:42 PM] Berrod: and sobbing with joy
23. New rank. New tasty gear <3333 Shiva EX too! And the gear for Poetics sounds cool. Also, the Weathered -> Unweathered system was confirmed to be a thing since before these patch notes. There's going to be a different version of Sands of Time/Oils of Time for them. I feel sorry for the crafters. :<
