To unlock all your junk for Marauder, you'll want to stay in Limsa at low levels. It'll save you travel time and monies! Eventually, though, you'll be able to pick your grand company, just pick Gridania then, IMO. That's kinda like saying you're from there, yea? I for one will not go about hounding you if you HAVE to start in Limsa, but say your character is from Gridania, fo' sho'.

Typically I think those are mostly just guidelines for the race at large. If you want to have a Lalafell that's a little different than the rest, there's nothing from stopping you, IMO .

Yo yo! Welcome! Technically there is no official RP server, but those of us who were around for 1.0 made Balmung our unofficial RP home . As of now, we intend to stay on Balmung and we HOPE that people will join us there. We love all the new faces (you, too /winkwink)! The non-legacy RP server some people are trying to establish I believe is Behemoth and another group is rolling on Hyperion. Gilgamesh is where a bunch of us rolled fresh characters strictly for the Beta.

There are probably always going to be "No experience at fight? No fight for you!" people anywhere you go, but I know a lot of our linkshells here are all about supporting players new to content. Aes Sedai Tower/Corvus Cinis especially comes to mind .

Getting to Costa del Sol UPDATE: I've been informed that you cannot take the ferry I mentioned at level 1, but it's not TOO terribly far a walk to get there. If people need help to get there, we'll walk you guys. You can fin Costa del Sol in Eastern La Noscea!

To get to Limsa Lominsa: Unfortunately one cannot simply walk to Limsa Lominsa from Gridania or Ul'dah. You CAN take the airship there, but you have to both be at least level 15 and have made it to the level 15 portion of the storyline quests. I BELIEVE the correct quest to have finished is "The Envoy." This quest gives you your airship pass. Alternatively: If you are unable to complete those prerequisites in time for the event, but would still like to attend, the easiest method is to create a character who's class is marauder. This will start you in Limsa. Don't worry too much about being level 1. To get to Costa del Sol: By the pullers' (fishermens') guild in lower Limsa there's a small sailboat with a Lalafell named Rerenasu standing next to it. If you click on them, they'll give you two options of places to go, one is Costa del Sol. Super easy! Shuttle is an adorable name :3 My chocobo's name is Mandoralen, which was the max number of characters allowed. I remember cause the name is supposed to have two Ls, but I had to drop one : P. This could, of course, change in 2.0. I don't recall if spaces were allowed in 1.0 or not.

Nothing has really been confirmed at this point, like everyone else has said, just mention of various dungeons to come. We'll all have to hunt out the information together in-game~
