Hello, hello~ Welcome to zee RPC and all the silliness involved here-in.

Who's late to the party? It's me! But! I thought I'd finally throw me name in here now that I have some LS stuff handled and I'm all settled in back home Yo yo! I'm Xenedra here on the forums, as well as in game, though I may play with an alt from time to time. The wiki for my dear main character Xene is here. I have a degree in computer art, as well as fine art, and I'm currently being a lazy house-wife as well as a freelance character designer/graphic artist. You can see some of my art here if you're interested :3. My first MMO was Ultima Online, though I definitely never RP'd in it. I used to do all my RP exclusively on yahoo message boards... which I don't think exist anymore : P. That's an indicator of how long I've been RPing, maybe? Either way, I don't want to admit how long it's been! Many years after UO I played Final Fantasy XI. RP'd in that as well, for about 6 years, until XIV came out, then I swapped to that. In the interim between 1.0 and 2.0 I played Guild War 2, Aion, Ragnarok Online 2, and Tera... I pretty much NEED 2.0 release liiike yesterday. My main classes in 1.0 were bard, black mage, and monk. I'm involved in probably too many linkshells, but since I don't have a 9-5 job it hasn't been to difficult to keep up. I help as a sort of second in Blue Skies, from which I plan to get my adventuring fix, I run/help run Intermission, the OOC hub linkshell, and I'm the boss over at Soliloquy, the performing arts LS and tavern. I'm also involved in the FFXIV podcast over on Gamer Escape, Aetheryte Radio. I'm reeeeally excited to see all the new faces and open to helping out anyone who needs it . http://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/world/races/hyur That's the official write up from SE on Hyur. Unfortunately there's not much to it, but it basically says that Hyur (Midlanders at least) are aaall over the place! To me this indicates they've got quite a varied culture. More likely the city/region you chose to be from will more heavily affect your characters cultural traits. You can find write ups on Ul'dah, Gridania and Limsa on that site and also on our wiki. Another little tidbit that might help you is here: http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/threads/61149-Hyur-Naming-Conventions Naming conventions for Hyur! There's a little lore in there as well for them. If you haven't looking through SE's lore forums already, I suggest you do! It's a bit limited at this point, but it's got some gems :>

No reason you can't take that personality from your FFXI character and transpose it into a character who's original is in Eorzea. Like I said, we'd be more than happy to answer any questions about lore you might have. Hello and welcome to the RPC! In my experience it's not a good idea to start a character with an amnesia problem. It's also sort of a faux pas to have your character jumping in from another dimension. I may have misread, but that sort of seems where you were going with "this word is not his own." Maybe you could build up at least a little bit of backstory based in Eorzea? We have a number of guides and such around here to help with that and I'm sure we'd all be willing to answer any questions you may have.

I think the only thing that'd be actually challenging about this is that you'd possibly have to do a little more research about the lore to get the events that took place leading up to Carteneau right. The storyline you're going to be fed in game and the reactions of NPCs will probably be different, too, but only you will know that. If you want to have been in the battle, be in it, IMO!
