Heads up artists! Tomorrow me and a few others are going to try and finalize the list of people who've requested cards. Miraculously there are only a few double requests, which I will try and hammer out tomorrow as well, but then I'd like to arrange a time for the artists to get together and discuss who would like to draw which cards/people.

I noticed the other day that a few of the people still hanging around in the Soliloquy Tavern skype chat we started picked up and started RPing in there again. I'd thought of suggesting it before, but didn't know how well it would be received. So after seeing people do it on their own, I thought I'd make an actual thread and offer up the tavern as a sort of perma-open RP chat room. Time can be decided by whoever's taking part in the RP at the time, (I know some people don't like non-canon and some people are trying to avoid canon rp just yet), so no one has to be wary of taking part. It'll just serve as a place where, given the desire to RP, someone can stick their head in and see if anyone's alive and kicking! If you would like to be invited to the skype room you can contact me, DreadPirateXen, or poke someone in the ooc skype chat that's constantly going on. I know a few of them are still in the room, too~ Description from original chat night: "On the southern isles of Limsa, Soliloquy tavern is snuggled amongst the warehouses and wards. In fact, the inside resembles an old market ward, gutted and refurbished with a bar to one side and a stage to the other. Large round tables are scattered between, save for a cleared area in the center. The whole place is draped in red silks and satins. A bartender busies themselves at the bar top cleaning glasses, ready for any incoming orders." To get in the chat, feel free to poke Abaigeal (technopoptart) or me (DreadPirateXen) on skype!

Xenedra lazily unslings her bow from her shoulder, giving it a little flick. The awkward looking harp on the end flips up and she gives its strings a fond, little caress. Those in and those heading to help with the fight would likely feel a boost in energy, making them far more capable of tossing abilities with a bit of flair at the metal monsters (TP buff from Paeon of War). That done, she calmly nocks an arrow and sets her sights on one of the hulking, armor-like men. She waits.

Q: Are you tired of me yet? Lol. A: No Q: Are certain songs connected to certain spells? Do all the bards of forever know the same ones? A: As of the end of 1.0, there were 4 songs/spells. Swiftsong gave a speed boost (though this was technically an archer ability), Ballad of Magi gave refresh, Minuet of Rigor gave both accuracy and magic accuracy, and Paeon of War gave a TP generation buff. All songs used the same little chord of music when cast, though they did have different colored animations. So while there is a little musical blip related to casting as of this point, it's the same for all songs and has no specific lyrics. I would say this counts as a "no" for specific ACTUAL songs reserved for each song buff in game. This could of course change in 2.0, and frankly I hope it does : P As for all bards knowing the same songs, I'd imagine that all practiced, battle-ready bards would know the same buffing songs. Newer bards may want to incorporate learning songs ICly into their characters goals, though, which I personally think is an adorable idea and a good RP generator amongst fellow bards. I often also use real life songs, (straight lyrics, or modified), in my RP, too, and I don't mind at all when others join in singing because they know the song as well. So in that case bards might know the same songs, as well. Q: Or does each bard make their own thing to work? A: I don't see why, from an RP perspective, you couldn't make up your own songs if you wanted to. Q: Does it happen any and every time she sings or does she have control over when it does and doesn't work? A: I would imagine some sort of extra magical, aether summoning focus would be required along with any songs played or sung for bard buffs. If that's the case, no, some sort of magical event would not have to happen each time the bard sings. I certainly hope not or my character has been casting a whole lot of spells she wasn't aware of : P For me, personally, bard is also a story teller, an entertainer. With this in mind, I feel that a bard is quite capable of song (and whatever else) beyond the set list of spells given to up in game. I can't speak for the rest of the community, but I wouldn't think most would take issue with you expanding upon bard's skill set within realistic reason :>

Some are similar, with only a slight difference, some are not at all. I've been telling people to go mostly based on the upright descriptions, but some (myself included) found cards that were appropriate both ways. To clarify what upright and reverse mean, when you read someone's cards, you lay them down in a certain pattern (some people don't bother) and each position that a card is placed in means something different. For example one position would mean whatever card is put there is about a future happening. Whether the card happens to land upright or upside down when taken from the deck just affects the meaning of the card placed in position. I hope that was clear enough to help you out : x

I think the biggest issue for anyone running/moderating/whatever this shell in the past has been dealing with member issues. While it'd be great if everyone COULD handle their issues on their own, I think it's not unreasonable to say that it's not really likely to happen. Some of us are adults, but some of us aren't and on top of that, rpers are just drama queens ! It'd be great if whoever was in charge didn't have to resolve member issues or make shell decisions related to said issues, but they are bound to crop up, unfortunately. This is the primary reason I mentioned moderation in the first place. I think that whatever structure is put in place for intermission come 2.0 ought to take this unpleasant truth into account and the leadership should be willing to handle equally unpleasant issues.

Bump! Requests have virtually stopped coming in, so I'm thinking its time to start finalizing the list. I'll start talking to people who've requested doubles and poking artists about who/which cards they're interested in sketchin'! This does not mean the request period is over! Obviously as people come later on down the line they won't have the full deck to pick from since we'll have finished some cards, but many slots are still open and it'd be great to fill this thing out!
