  1. This sounds like fun! I will drop by when I can. Yay, crafting!
  2. Well, now that those low-life black market artists have been dealt with and the integrity of the game is safe once more perhaps SE can turn their attention to the obviously lesser evil of Gil selling. /sarcasm If someone creates a thread on the official forum I will gladly sign my name to it. Our artists play an integral part in helping to bring our characters and stories to life and shouldn't be treated like those who help destroy the game economy and experience daily.
  3. I have nothing new to add but was able to slip in on my main AND make potential alts during the last two maintenances. I personally don't want to spend additional money to server swap but I can see how it is the less hassle option. Gilgamesh opens up more frequently (I use the term loosely). Good luck!
  4. Just pointing to the interview you mentioned: http://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodestone/topics/detail/f5d2a51c83fa7e955b3c3583a5aa739e064b3ebe/ Q: I’m looking forward to the wedding system. Will it be part of Patch 2.4? A: The marriage system, or “Eternal Bonding,” is currently under development on a massive scale. Despite the resources we’re pouring into it, it’s been slow going because we’re setting it up as a reservation system where you pick a date and time to tie the knot. Right now we’re looking at a Patch 2.45 release. It’ll definitely be worth the wait, though─the system is going to be huge and very customizable. We should be able to give you a sneak peek of things like what kinds of dresses there will be fairly soon.
  5. Depending on how far you got on page 3, it's entirely possible you missed all of the best parts of this thread. Probably. Apologies.
  6. I read the first three pages of this thread and skipped the last cause omglong. My character is primarily in Limsa and I could see brawls starting at the Wench but there is also the Missing Member which is run by she-pirates and not as likely to have 50 people jumping in on your scene. Of course it's near Maelstrom HQ but I figure most of them would just place bets. >.
  7. May I pet a lalafell? This sounds like fun! If I am able to I will stop by.
  8. Endgame, in regards to crafting, is the stuff you can start to make once you hit 50. Preferably in ALL the crafting classes. There's items of increased difficulty that you can start to make that require a minimum amount of the crafting stats, and the cross-class skills from several of the other crafting classes is more or less required. Unfortunately, this often includes some of the more vanity-oriented items like swimsuits and the like, which is why they often tend to be so pricey on the market. All character customization from a visual sense comes solely from mixing and matching gear (which oftentimes requires levels in some class or another), dying the dye-able gear, and personal cosmetic stuff like haircuts and the like from the aesthetician. it's no All-Points Bulletin or Champions Online customization, but it's okay. The crafting guides are... oddly set up. They're all about what Guildleves you should take due to the ease of crafting/buying the required items. The ones I use usually give you an option at the bottom of each level spread saying which item you can make for "grinding." Example, "make silk." Thus, I get the mats to make silk, set my character to make 99 of them, and then go off to do laundry or something. Dungeons and such are another beast. I would definitely take up your FC-mates offer to run a few. Most of them aren't too bad, and having people willing to help and work with you will definitely help boost your confidence at running them. A far cry better than getting some random Pick-up-Group full of folks who expect you to know the dungeon and be able to speedrun it. And the best thing I can offer? Just ask for help. In your FC or here on the RPC. You'll probably find at least one or two people willing to help you out, if not more. Thanks for the information! Also try the "guildheist" things, I think they are called. A very non pressure introduction to dungeon fights. Infact, look me up in game and I'll questions in with you, it will be fun! I will! When I get back I am going to take a DPS class on Kestrael and leave tanking alone for a bit until I get more of a hang of things.

  10. I will be honest, most of this still sounds like gibberish to me. I don't even know what the "end game" or "end game crafting" is. I like to craft though I am very disappointed that things here cannot really be customized and the things (clothing/armor) that I can craft aren't very pretty. I too would like to one day, probably 3 rl years from now, own a house. Is there some sort of FFXIV for Dummies that explains everything simply? I found a really nice guide ABOUT crafting but it still doesn't make much sense. Side note: I am terrified of dungeons and raids, never having done it I just imagine people yelling at me and making me feel bad. My lovely FC members have offered to help teach me but yeah, for a game it is REALLY intimidating.
  11. Aww it's okay. You'll get it eventually X3 lightofthecrystallightofthecrystallightofthecrystallightofthecrystallightofthecrystallightofthecrystallightofthecrystallightofthecrystallightofthecrystallightofthecrystallightofthecrystallightofthecrystallightofthecrystallightofthecrystallightofthecrystallightofthecrystallightofthecrystallightofthecrystallightofthecrystallightofthecrystallightofthecrystallightofthecrystallightofthecrystallightofthecrystallightofthecrystallightofthecrystallightofthecrystallightofthecrystallightofthecrystallightofthecrystallightofthecrystallightofthecrystallightofthecrystallightofthecrystallightofthecrystallightofthecrystallightofthecrystallightofthecrystallightofthecrystallightofthecrystallightofthecrystallightofthecrystallightofthecrystallightofthecrystallightofthecrystallightofthecrystallightofthecrystallightofthecrystallightofthecrystallightofthecrystallightofthecrystallightofthecrystallightofthecrystallightofthecrystallightofthecrystallightofthecrystallightofthecrystallightofthecrystallightofthecrystallightofthecrystallightofthecrystallightofthecrystallightofthecrystallightofthecrystallightofthecrystallightofthecrystallightofthecrystallightofthecrystallightofthecrystallightofthecrystallightofthecrystallightofthecrystallightofthecrystallightofthecrystallightofthecrystallightofthecrystallightofthecrystallightofthecrystallightofthecrystallightofthecrystallightofthecrystallightofthecrystallightofthecrystal Here, perfect welcome -3- I think we all just bore witness to some obscure Lalafell summoning ritual...I's sure that is a good sign, LexiQ!
  12. Welcome! Great name choice. I use Alexis/Lexi often. Hope to see your character around!
  13. Fellow Floridian~ Yay, two more~ ((Gosh darn it! I've spend longer than I need to for making this post because I was having a hard time working with the quotes until I figure out how to utilize the "View Source" thing >w<;; )) Slowly we are taking over the world, one roleplay at a time. Muahahah aha /manicallaugh
  14. Hi there! I don't think anyone would look down on a character for being a "jack of all trades" so to speak. A lot of characters mechanically have multiple classes/jobs and some choose to use more than one in their RP. For instance, I am RPing that my character has been training with the Marauder's Guild with an axe but now has an interest in swords and lances. She will be learning about both and possibly utilizing the different styles in different situations. I hope this helps and I look forward to seeing you around! **Disclaimer: I am also a newbie here so if I have given incorrect information I am sure someone else will clarify!
  15. I can vouch for Ququiki's level of awesome. I am away for a bit but would be glad to rp with you as well!
  16. Ah! One of my close friends works for The Mouse as well. She works the carousel and the princess picture area in Magic Kingdom <3 Hello neighbor! Oh, I thought the Mouse was like a computer store or something haha Ahha! Yes, The Mouse is Disney. I work for the Vacation Club division in their corporate office. Though I suppose The Mouse could very well be the name of a computer place! Though I've never worked at Disney, it being my wife's favorite weekend getaway, only being there 3-4 times a year, I can see the problem you'd have with self entitled people. It is the most entitled place on Earth!

  18. Oo! Me, me! When I get back in town Kestrael would love to ride your chocobo! ((That sounds like an innuendo. It's not, I promise!))
  19. o_O you just invented Chocoskiing!
  20. That is a good question. I imagine the smaller person would sit in front. Would they "drive" though or would the person behind slip their arms around the other to hold the reins? Kestrael would want to be the one doing the steering. Love the historical references! Destrier
  21. Why not both? (Gandalf) the Grey ((I'm sorry, I really have no other input than healers get all my hearts))
