  1. "Hey, I've noticed you're using information your character has no way of knowing, in order to gain brownie points with her. Please stop doing this, or I will OOCly shut any plot/hook/story down with you."
  2. Gah, I didn't read the updates...sorry. I would strongly advise against transferring with her, honestly. It's not going to end well. Stay where you are and just...retcon everything, like others have suggested.
  3. Hi hello, someone with way too many alts here to offer my opinion. Renata is my main. Her story and my partner (her husband) come first above any other chars I may have. My partner is only available on the weekends and evenings, which is a time I'm rarely available. So when I am able to get on in the evenings or on weekends, Percival gets preference, always. I do not blow him off to go rp another char, unless there's a rare chance I don't feel like playing Renata. I think this has only happened once. I'm rambling though. The key to any rp partnership, whether on a main or alt, is OOC communication, and honestly, without that, any partnership will fail. Your partner has, for some reason, begun to fail to communicate. I would cut your losses and move on. Don't stress over it, don't make a scene, just be like okay, I get it. This is done and I'm not going to chase it.
  4. (Yes I know this thread was dead.) Renata: Grumpy Imperial-hater is orphaned young in horrific way, drinks excessively, growls at Midlander, winds up engaged to him. Wedding soon. Eorla: Grumplander's sweetheart cousin becomes doctor and midwife to Eorzean citizens, gets married, becomes widow. Still smiling.
  5. On playing angry chars... Renata is a bitch to people she doesn't know...it takes determination to get to know her. If I see anyone walking up to her, I will send them a tell that usually says "Hi! Just a warning if you're going to approach, Ren is not an easily approachable gal, but her player is!" When you play a cold, detached grump, OOC communication is key. Always.
  6. I see what you're saying, but given the sheer numbers of people who rp on Balmung, the population won't dwindle enough to give SE reason to life the restriction any time soon. Your approach to this is rather obtuse and stubborn, for you refuse to see from a back-end perspective why the server was locked and why it remains locked and likely will remain locked for months, if not years. There is nothing wrong with having two communities. A server split would be more cataclysmic than two rp communities, and even if say, Balmung was designated an rp server, you think the non-rpers on Balmung are just going to leave? You think if Mateus was designated an rp server that non-rpers won't roll on it? Your posts indicate you believe that to be the case, and sadly, you're mistaken.
  7. I haven't gotten through all 18 pages yet, but the fact that people are advocating for a "everyone on Balmung!" roleplay situation baffles me. A critical mass of population on the server could cause a split like in 1.0. I don't know how that was handled, if people were just moved or if they got to choose where they went. So if the devs decided that Balmung was to be split...that's a LOT of fractured circles and stories. What if they split Balmung and my char was parted from her husband? I don't see what's so bad about having other servers have rp communities. What SE should focus on before even thinking about designating a server as an rp server is housing. You should only be able to have one house and apartment per account, per server. If you have a house, you shouldn't be allowed to have an apartment. Everyone can get an FC room on each character because duh. Grant housing controls for that property to each char on that account/server. But if you have a house, you shouldn't be able to own a house with any other char. Because you have greedy people who have 8 chars on Balmung, each with a house, an apartment, and FC chambers. But that's a different debate. Point is, no, not every rper should congregate en masse on Balmung, or we'll get that server split none of us want.
  8. Renata was written to be a cold, icy, hostile, detached, no fucks given bitch. That's how she was supposed to be and that's how I wanted her. Then...she meets this Midlander. I had a bout of mono at the time, and so I was on fairly often. They became unlikely friends. And then more developed. That was almost a year ago, and Renata and Percival are still going strong, despite my own OOC absence from the game for irl reasons. (It helps that Perci's player is an awesome person and has, over the past year, become someone I consider to be a dear friend.) (Pers, you're awesome and I'm glad every day to have you as my rp partner.)
  9. Lucky you. ((OOC: YES! LUCKY RHEA!)) *Disregard for next post*
  10. "I could ask you the same thing, Madame. I'm not interested in women, even if you -are- Hyur. Not an ounce of meat on your bones." *Thoreaux's fairy; Nell, blows Eorla a raspberry* "All well and good, sir, I meant no offense. You are certainly handsome, and I happen to know a plethora of available men."
  11. "Ah...how do I keep winding up married to these people? Did you put something in my wine?"
  12. Eorlan Brynn, the only child of Atla and Olaf Brynn. Their son was the pride and joy of them both, and they doted on him ceaselessly. His father raised him in his own path: a warrior more prone to kill than to kiss, more apt to mug than hug. When he was 12, his good pal Elijah arrived in the village, carrying Eorlan's unconscious, nearly dead cousin, Renato. But Eorlan was not a healer and so Renato died. ((yeah no. Glad Eorla and Renata are girls.))
  13. "Scrambled and fertilized...sign this annulment and let's go shopping."
